I would honestly just grab snacks at the gas station, or even just boiling a leather boot. Would be quicker and more pleasant.

Fast service and the food was exactly as expected. Geneva was a great waitress! Whatever problems they had seem to be fixed.

I stayed in Bluefield and he lives in Princeton, but he met me here since it was on my way to Cherokee. This leg of the trip was to drop off some cash for Mr. Bob. A lot of it. No, not that kind of money. Clean money. Anyway... The staff here is super friendly, the atmosphere fits the area, and the place has some charm. It looks like the prices for the sandwiches are very fair, but I got a bagel, and the price for one bagel is too high. However, this is more of a sandwich and coffee shop; it's not a bagel store. I definitely recommend The Grind. I'm not really a morning person so I don't know what Bob was talking about half the time, but that's just me. Definitely recommended!

It is next to the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum, so stopping here after a visit would be super easy. There were plenty of specialty drinks on the menu, and they trended towards the sugary direction. There were plenty of families enjoying the space, and options for kids and adults. My drink ended up being sugary-sweet and I probably would have asked them to dial it down if I had realized. On the plus side, they were able to get drinks out pretty quickly, in spite of there being quite the crowd. The space was clean and modern. Also, the bathroom was clean and very much appreciated on our road trip. I probably wouldn't sit and enjoy my drink here, due to the high traffic (at least when I visited). For a quick stop in, it's nice. I'll be sure to order better next time. Solid spot!

The older woman who waited on us was very nice and exuded Southern charm. She was the best part of breakfast. I ordered sausage gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs and sausage. I tried to order grits, but they didn't have any. The coffee was very good and should I've taken a cup to go. The eggs and sausage were good. However, the sausage gravy and biscuits were not very good. Biscuits just not taste good. I'm not sure why but it was missing. The gravy could've been lighter and had more sausage in it. I imagine if you were just looking for an omelette with some fries and a side of bacon or sausage you would do just fine.

The staff are friendly, especially Cricket . I wish I could rate the food higher but bottom line it's marginal. The home fries and hash browns are tasteless and very greasy. As for bacon, sausage and eggs they are ok, the gravy biscuit would have been OK had it been warmer. While the service was good, the food did not come out at the same time and my gravy biscuit had been sitting for quite a while and was cold and gummy. I had been in the past and the food was better . Time for improvement in the consistency area.

I'm a huge fan of Cracker Barrel. Not just because they have great meals and breakfast all day if…read morethat's what you want. But because they're also supporters of the RV life. They allow RVs to park overnight in their lot with the kind but unspoken request that if you're having a meal in the area, that you should please have it with them in return for the free parking. So that's what I did! I arrived just after the dinner rush and was seated immediately in a corner overlooking where I had just lined up the Sprinter van in the lot. My order was taken and a few minutes later, here's dinner: Meatloaf with steamed broccoli and a side salad. Filling, hot, delicious and plenty of it. I skipped the biscuits and cornbread, which I would ordinarily share with Mrs. K. but this was a solo trip and I'm sticking to my keto guns. A great meal and I sat with my laptop for a bit (Cracker Barrel has wifi now!) planning the next day's journey. After dinner, out to the van and locked up for the night. A quiet night as this one is perched on top of the hill and a bit quieter from road noise. I departed at 5:15, too early in the morning for breakfast. Wytheville last night: Meatloaf tasted odd and bad, I only ate like 2 bites. Mashed potatoes so hard my fork bounced off. I ate ONE bite, full of UNCOOKED PIECES OF POTATOES plus dried out and hard as a rock. They offered to replace the potatoes. They brought me a little dish of same potatoes with some hot water mixed in, LUKEWARM if that..no way I was eating that! The corn muffin was also hard as a rock and stale and inedible. The biscuit was undercooked. I only ate a few bites and yet had an upset stomach midde of the night from the food. The person at the register looked concerned and said, someone else complained abouot the potatoes! Manager came out, was very irritated at me for complaining and acted like I WAS THE PROBLEM!!! I had driven 40 mins for this meal. :( She was so rude, no apologies at all, and clearly not fixing the mashed potatoes for anyone else Next Mt. Airy, NC back in around July 2025, I ordered chicken and dumplings with mashed potatoes. Same AWFUL potatoes, and the chicken and dumplings were SPICY HOT!!?? so spicy I could eat them, and since when is that supposed to be a SPICY DISH??? I couldn't eat it, and that meal got comped too. At least the manager there was very apologetic and admitted they couldnt find decent cooks anymore. Jaunuary 2025 - Christiansburg, Va - My dad ordered the trout. He said while eating it, it's not good like it used to be.and he didnt finish it. Later that night, he was sick. Coincidence? I doubt it after all this. You've lost a long time customer Cracker Barrel, but it's pretty clear to me YOU DON'T CARE ANYMORE.

The family and I were on an adventure, heading up to Niagara Falls. I was using my trusty Yelp app to try to find a cool lunch spot. I saw Skeeter's, and knew we had to try it. So we jumped off the interstate, and wound our way down to the quaint downtown of Wytheville. It's a beautiful little town, and also the birthplace of Edith Boling Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson. So we rolled into town and spotted Skeeter's nostalgic brick corner building. Very cool looking, and fitting for the 101 year old business. Alas, we got out of the car and excitedly walked up to the door,,, to find a CLOSED sign. We looked through the window, and could tell that we were missing something special. So we walked down to the street to a pizza place, and had a less than stellar lunch. Actually, it was just bad. So, went went off on our Niagara adventure, and a few days later we were heading home. It was nearing lunchtime, and we saw the sign for Wytheville. My wife said, why don't we try Skeeter's again. I called to make sure they were open, and we hit the streets of Wytheville again. We found a table at Skeeter's and started looking over the menu. They have plenty to offer besides hot dogs, but we had to try these world famous dogs. My wife and son got the regular "red weiner" dogs with fries. I had to go for the big 1/4 pound Black Angus dog. I was happy to find that they were in the process of changing their store over from Pepsi to Coke! As I said up at the top of this review, Skeeter's certainly lived up to the World Famous Hot Dog moniker! My big Black Angus dog was so good, that I had to order a second one! I think I can safely say, that if Skeeter's had been open on our way north, we would have still stopped on the way back, to enjoy it again! We found nothing bad to say about Skeeter's. The atmosphere, the decor, the food, the prices, the staff... all were absolutely wonderful! This is the kind of small town, hidden gem, that I love to find in my travels! We'll be back!

It's in this really charming historic building (apparently where First Lady Edith Wilson was born), and the whole place has that nostalgic mid-1900s vibe that just feels cozy and fun. Super cute spot. Our waitress was also really friendly and made us feel welcome right away, which always makes a difference. That said... the food itself was just kind of average. The hot dogs and fries weren't bad at all, just nothing that really stood out. For a place that's been around for over 100 years, I guess I was expecting something a little more memorable. It ended up tasting like something I could grab at a random country gas station. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in for the atmosphere and history, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for the food alone.
