We went in for a quick brunch and ordered as soon as we sat down (just a simple stack of plain buttermilk pancakes and fried chicken). Our silverware was dirty. We proceeded to wait for an hour while the table next to us that was sat 40 minutes after us ordered the exact same thing we did and was served within 10 minutes of ordering. Our waitress nearly cried when we left because none of her tables were receiving their orders. Also, there was no one actually bussing tables. We keep giving them another chance and they keep failing. First they brought the wrong drink and I waited 20 minutes for a replacement. I ordered the egg white omelet and it was a mess. It was also missing the tomatoes and avocado (which they didn't have). Bacon was not crisp at all. The other order was a chicken fajita omelet and it was half the size it normally was. We were told they were only taking cash. My husband asked if the system was down, and the young server said no, just that they were only taking cash. Something doesn't sound right. My daughter and I went to Ihop in Simpsonville @ 12 midnight. There were only 5 tables being used. So that means that we were the fourth. Anyone who showed up after we were seated were told there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. There was only one waiter, who mentioned that he was the manager and 1 cook. Let me back up for a second. It took 10-15 minutes to be seated, 10- 15 minutes to take our drink order, 30 minutes from that to order our food , 30 minutes later he brings out bowl of grits stating that we can have something to chew on while we wait on the rest of our food. The grits were horrible. We still waiting on the rest our food to be told that our order did not go through we left. I'm reviewing as an early morning diner (my fiancé and I go between 3am to 5am) we've been I think 5 times but this morning (August 23, 2024) the food was the best. His grilled chicken was awesome which he requested it to be grilled so it isn't on the menu. Wish I had gotten the waitresses name. Service is slow in the morning due to I think only two people running the restaurant but they still do wonderful. The ambiance is different each time we've gone but it's not a bad change. I will continue to go back because of the service, food and staff. read more

think "B"fore you come here because while we were waiting over an hour for food that never came, I couldn't help but notice that this place only has a B health grade rating! if only that was the most off putting thing to notice about a decrepit IHOP behind a South Carolina Walmart, but it gets worse. all of the other tables were filthy and covered with dirty dishes. nothing was being cleaned and no food was being served. My wife and I came here wanting to repeat some of our teenage days of when we would stop by before going to the movies. Those days are long gone. I noticed the bad reviews, but thought because they were old that maybe they weren't accurate. Not true. I have never been to an Ihop that was so poorly run. The first thing I noticed before I walked in the door that there was a sign that stated "No Bacon". Okay. No bacon on a Sunday. Not deterred, we waited five minutes for a table. As it turns out, the hostess was also a waitress, and she was also bussing tables. Anyway, we cautiously ordered our bacon-less food, which should have included chicken tenders. At first our plates looked pretty good, but one thing that stood out was the chicken was not tenders, but a chicken patty that had been cut into strips. Also, the pancakes did not look like Ihop pancakes. I know my pancakes, and Ihop's are the best. They have a distinctive look and flavor. These were larger, fluffier, flavorless, and not Ihop pancakes. They were so dry that the normal amount of syrup was sopped up in seconds. So we mused that they must have also run out of the signature pancake mix as well as bacon and chicken strips. After our meal we noticed on the receipt that they charge $3.49 for soft drinks and tea. Are you kidding me? Highway robbery. You've been warned - order water at Ihop, or get plenty of refills and a to-go cup. Lastly, on our way out, the cashier and two servers/manager? were sitting on the bench gossiping and complaining as we left, with no thank you or come back soon. Don't worry, we wont! Hey manager or owner, you've got an issue here! It's definitely worth the drive to either of the Greenville restaurants for the best Ihop experience. (The one bright spot in Simpsonville was Leslie. Took 30 minutes for someone to come to our table to tell us they were understaffed and our order would be delayed. Said it would be another 15 minutes. Waited another 30 minutes to find out our order still had not been put in. We had to leave and go elsewhere. They blamed it on a language barrier with the cook. This poorly run establishment should never be associated with the name IHOP. Some people got there food and were out the door while we sat there. Specific omelet ordered with directions for all ingredients to be cooked inside the omelette. Omelette came to the table 45 minutes later with half of the ingredients sitting on top. Our other order of over medium eggs was burnt and sloppily running. While the server was extremely apologetic and took the food back to the kitchen, the manager Amanda came out and stated that they put ingredients on the top to identify a specific omelettes. I let her know that I'd ask specifically for all ingredients to be cooked inside the omelette and that she had sent an omelette back to our table that had been obviously flipped over and now the ingredients were on the bottom of the plate. She stood there and cut the omelette to show us some tomatoes and onions inside. She stated that she would be happy to redo our order, but that she had 25 orders in front of ours and that it would be an additional 45 minutes even though they had gotten our order wrong. It goes without saying that this is bad management and a completely wrong response. She then went on to say that she would "take care of the bill." Uhhh. What bill?? We cancelled the order. We ate here tonight and I was hesitant at first because I haven't had great experiences at ihops. We have had a terrible week and we dragged ourselves in for a late dinner. However, much to my surprise, our waiter Wyatt was freaking awesome! Id say that was probably one of the best dining services Ive ever had. Some people were just cut out for customer service and he is most definitely one of them. He made sure we were well taken care of. Fresh hot coffee and made my pancakes look beautiful. They just opened recently and are having a problem getting the people they need to staff it. They are trying was everything perfect no but the two ladies were working their tails off trying to keep up with the amount of people coming in and orders. Went for breakfast and didn't order anything special. I ordered scrambled eggs - they were disgusting. Crunchy on top like they sat under a heat lamp for an hour. Tasted like they came out of a carton. Sure enough, when the server came back to drop off the bill (that was when I was asked how everything was), I found out that scrambled eggs do come out of a carton there! However, you can get scrambled eggs made from an actual freshly cracked egg by asking for "cracked eggs." 4/11/19. Quick update we just walked out of your restaurant. Not a single person was in there and our server STILL ignored us and we sat for 6 minutes with no one greeting us. What a joke. Gotta love when you order pancakes, they come out ice cold so they MICROWAVED them! Seriously if your line cooks are too lazy to make fresh pancakes you may need new line cooks. My poached eggs came out hard boiled and bacon was cold. If I wanted microwave pancakes I could have bought them at Burger King or a box of frozen at the store. The manager was very concerned and props to her for being that way. Our server Kirsten was very nice and pleasant. We had coffee and she did check on us, so my guess would it is a fail on the back of the house. We can see they have an experditer but apparently has no job doing so. My husband and I went on the 60cent short stack day. What a let down. First, we had to wait to be seated. Second, we had to wait for our waitress. Third, our table had hair on it that did not belong to either of us. Fourth, our food took FOREVER to arrive. This gave us time to look around us. Tables were not cleaned off. When plates were removed, the debris was not wiped off. Several new customers were seated and then their waitress had to clean the table. A guy next to us went to the restroom and while he was gone, his table was cleared. But they left his medicine bottle on the table. Our waitress took it upon herself to double part of my order of egg but half my order of bacon. And when we paid, she shorted me on my change. It's not that they were short handed, it's just that no one cares about the cleanliness of the restaurant or service to the customer. And the lady "manager" was as useless as everyone working there. But it was all laughs and noise in the kitchen which was SO unprofessional. Oh and they had stopped serving hot tea at 2pm in the afternoon. WILL NOT go back here again. I agree with so many on this review board when they say they would give 0/5 stars me and my greatest came in and the lot was full and the wait was 20 all that was fine. They had a promotion up for a delicious omlette which after ordering found out they didn't have it till Monday.... Ok still ok had a back up anyways and always... After waiting an hour from coming in and being seated we finally received our "food" the server had my plate underneath another plate so my food was picking up wherever that plate on top had been set and took most of my cheesed topped omlette with it not to mention some cheese was on our servers sleeve which she just slung her arm down to get it off sending it flying in the direction of other guests... Servers sitting with friends/customers just a laughing and having a good ol time while the ENTIRE section we sat in was disgusting from tables to floor. Tables upon tables with garbage, half eaten food, Cheerios and chicken strips on the floor, just TRASH. Several people walked by with rags in their hands and simply kept going. I ordered bacon and it came blacker than black coffee. The eggs tasted like a rubber duckie (minus the squeaker). No expectations for anyone in there. This is the second time we've gone to this IHOP and once again, terrible service. We came here on a Tuesday at 5:50 pm when it was completely dead. 3 cars in the parking lot, including mine. The hostess sat us right away but then we sat there for 15 minutes and still no one bothered to greet us or take our drink orders. There were 3 servers and not one bothered. The first time we came for dinner on a sunday and while we did get a server that time they didn't have steak, or caesar salads because they 'ran out' , and once we did order burgers it took them over an hour to bring them to the table. They also got our drinks order wrong... Orange juice and coffee. So many choices in the area you would think they'd try harder and focus on quality service but it's obvious they don't care. read more
