This is the second time we've gone to this IHOP and once again, terrible service. We came here on a Tuesday at 5:50 pm when it was completely dead. 3 cars in the parking lot, including mine. The hostess sat us right away but then we sat there for 15 minutes and still no one bothered to greet us or take our drink orders. There were 3 servers and not one bothered. The first time we came for dinner on a sunday and while we did get a server that time they didn't have steak, or caesar salads because they 'ran out' , and once we did order burgers it took them over an hour to bring them to the table. They also got our drinks order wrong... Orange juice and coffee. So many choices in the area you would think they'd try harder and focus on quality service but it's obvious they don't care. read more

They are too busy talking to one another to pay attention to the customers that walk in the door. My husband asked for a refill, she took his glass and never brought it back. We ordered grits with our food and got them when we were finished eating. And we were still charged for them. The service is awful and so is the food. read more

Horrible service took 10 minutes to get our drinks. The server forgot to put in a pancake order and brought the rest of the order to the table. We waited over 15 minutes for the pancakes to be brought out by a server who could have cared less. Our drinks were never refilled NOT ONCE read more

Food good, service sucks, waited 35 min for a sandwich. There were 7 servers and less than 10 customers.

The food tastes fine, however the service is not up to par with other IHOPs. There seems to be only one or two people ever working there. It takes a while to get your food. One of the workers seemed stressed that she was serving so many people and I would be to. I'm not sure why they don't have more people working at a time. I've done a few to-go orders and I arrive when they tell me and sometimes I have to wait around. read more

I love the IHOP chain. I frequent the Woodruff Rd location very often. So regarding this location (Simpsonville), let me start from the beginning of our visit and walk you through. We were initially greeted by this really sweet, outgoing hostess. "If you need anything, just let me know. I'll be your hostess today. Your server will be with you shortly." My first thought was that this will be a great experience, if this is how we are greeted at the door. BOY WAS I WRONG! For a majority of the time, we (and one other table of 3) were the only people in the restaurant. There were 7 or 8 servers on the clock. We were seated at the back of the restaurant. The dinning room is arranged in such a way that the seats were behind the server stations. As opposed to how they are at the Woodruff Rd location where the server stations are at the back behind the seats. This wouldn't be so much of a problem except... I'll elaborate further a little later on. After being seated, it took about 5 minutes for the server to come to the table. He was pleasant and (after what we observed) was far from the least professional. While placing our order, my wife ordered the "Pumpkin Pancake Meal". 2 Panacakes 2 Eggs 2 Bacon Hashbrown Over the years of going to the Woodruff Road location, the servers there know how to manipulate the menu so that things come out best for the customer. They know that happy customers mean bigger tips. So when we ordered today, my wife asked for no eggs and double hash browns instead. The server's response to this was, "I cannot do that. I just got yelled at for doing that. I can't do any substitutions on the eggs." Seriously!?! Well that is completely bull crap because other branches of this chain, told us to do this. So after that bull crap... While we waited for our food to come, all of the other servers were standing around at the server stations (right next to our table) talking about how much they make in tips during their shift. And how annoying some of their customers were today. By my way of thinking, this was very inappropriate conversation in front of customers. Then they were sitting on the floor talking while counting their money. All of the employees that we encountered looked like high school kids or early college aged kids. And what's worse... they acted like it. After we finished eating, I visited the restrooms. They were absolutely filthy. Pee all over the floor. It smelled like crap, and the sinks were dirty. When I went to wash my hands, the sinks were hands-free. The faucets were angled to a point where it sprayed all over the place. So make sure you stand back and off to the side so you don't get doused with water. When I got back to the table, I saw a server replenishing the the condiments on another table. She accidentally dropped them on the floor. She, then, picked them all up and put them back on the table. As far as I know, you are not supposed to do that. Especially when the floor is filthy. After finishing eating, my wife said, "Let's go. I want to get out of here." When we went to go check out, there was no cashier. So we had to wait. And wait. And wait. Finally one of the gabby servers noticed we were waiting and came over rudely, asked for the check and said, "Here. Fill this out." I quickly signed it, then left... Never to return... EVER again! read more

IHOP was definitely off their game today. My family and I usually frequent this Ihop due to the fact it's right next to our house and we were ecstatic that there's an Ihop in Simpsonville. But the staff today was horrible. Our waitress was Kirsten, I did not find out her name until I saw it on the check. When we came into the restaurant, we got seated in about 5 min. But then waited 10-15 min for our server to arrive and when she arrived she didn't greet us or anything but just stared at my sister and I like we were from another planet of some sort. She took our order, did not make eye contact and I tried to make a request to her about my food item in which I had a hint that she's going to forget since she had put away her notepad. In which by the time I got my food, she did forget. Not once had she came and check on our table, and when I had asked for hot syrup from one of the other servers it never arrived. Finally after about 20 min of not seeing my server I asked for a box to go but did not get one until another 10 minutes later I don't know who is training these servers but they definitely need to be retrained. read more

Great Food, Great Service After reading all of the not so great reviews for this IHOP , I didn't know what to expect. First off, the dining room was clean, and decorated for the holidays. Our server was friendly and provided attentive service . Our orders came out in a timely fashion and were all correct. I will come back again. read more

I want to start off by saying thank you to The Manager Ruby and our awesome waitress Jacklyn! Thank you for great service and prompt service this morning! There are always those people who feel the need to criticize everything! If you know your in a hurry go to McDonalds drive thru ok? Because of the bad reviews we weren't going but we decided to come and glad we did! Food was prompt and hot! We all have our bad days and good and I don't judge by that!!! read more

You know what it is. Hit or miss on the service depending on who's working. Food is IHOP, so there ya go. If you've never been to ihop, then i'm surprised you found Yelp. read more

I went to this new IHOP after it was remodeled. This was my first time visiting this location. No complaints here and I'm picky. The weekends are pretty crowded. I was seated and waited on as soon as I entered the restaraunt. The food was great. The waiter was friendly and on time. I had a good experience here. I would recommend it. read more

Disappointed that i called 8 times to place a to go order and no answer. Not long enough I guess. How about f u read more

IHOP - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Simpsonville, South Carolina

I used to work there and the service is slow i always made sure that my tables and others was taken care of... And one of the managers she dropped frosting on the floor and picked it up and put it in the cup with the rest of it.. Also I never left work on time... They said there is no set time and also one night i didnt get off till 4am close to 5am.. read more

Would give no stars if possible. I never ever complain because I work service industry. But this place is beyond ridiculous. No one greeted us for 15 min was another 15 to get drinks. Didn't see our sever once after that. Someone else delivered our food and we had been given no silverware so we just got it ourselves from the host stand. Servers argued about tables in front of us. Table next to us got their food before there drinks. I'm appalled. We asked to speak to a manager and she came out with her phone in her BOOB. I'm done. Never going back. Absolutely terrible. They took care of our tab as they should have. We will never be back. read more

Service is horrible. Took my daughter here to eat and we waited in the lobby for a while and no one ever sat us. I saw the manager talking on his cell phone and when he made eye contact with me he walked away and never sent anyone to seat us. We ended up just leaving and going somewhere else. I won't be back. read more

Hands down THE worst eating experience in my life (and I've spent a lot of time in 3rd world countries). The waitress completely ignored us (hubby, mil, & bil). She gave awesome service to the table beside us, served every other table. It took another customer to say something to her for us to get our food. It was cold. I literally picked up my eggs and held them in my had. No heat. She got angry when I did this and snapped at me. I told her we were done and got up and left. Too boot, the hostess had an attitude, and the place was filthy. Never again. read more

This place is the Walmart of restaurants. No one comes here for service, in fact I don't know why anybody would come here, except that it's open 24 hours. If there's one person in the restaurant it will still take 45 minutes to get eggs and bacon. After 10pm, with a kitchen full of staff you will not be greeted by anyone at the door it will take at least 15 minutes to be seated and 20 minutes to get your order taken. Very disappointing. read more

The service and wait times are terrible. My grandson likes to come here because of the pancakes. But the last time my food was cold and unedible. The Ihop on Woodruff Road is a lot better. read more

You can never really get a hot coffee at this place unless you ask the waiter/waitress multiple times to get you a hot pot (took me 4 times). Spread out across multiple visits I've had a hair in my milk, lip stick still on my coffee mug from previous customer, (I don't think they clean their dishes). Also, with several clear open seats, and several employees, it took just me and my friend 10 minutes to be seated. I've never had a good experience here, if you want a clean, and great serviced IHOP, just go to woodruff road. Because this one isn't worth it. Not to mention it's the only IHOP I've seen that isn't 24 hours... read more

Don't! Just don't! Wait 30 mins just to order drinks. We have tried several times to eat at this location and have walked out after being ignored before but still tried again thinking may have just been bad day. Hit and miss on getting even a friendly waitress that will ultimately forget you there anyway! And are scrambled eggs meant to be chewy? NO!!! I could continue but think that's enough! read more

Worst place ever. The service is deplorable. I've been here 3 times and it never gets better. No one knew who was supposed to wait in my table. There was a 45 minute wait after we were seated for the food. I will not be back. read more

Horrible service. Walked in and the place was completely empty. I stood there with my family for about 10 minutes before anyone came to attempt to seat us. Don't waste your time. read more

Absolutely a terrible first experience. I went in and heard the cashier, not sure if she was a manager, tellin an employee how she was not gonna take orders from anyone. The guy that took me and my friend to our table just threw the menus there withouth even asking us what we wanted to drink. We got a waiter after 15 mins because i had to waive at one of them. We order. We waited 30 mins more and we finally left because they never brought us our food. Very unproffesional people. I was so happy that we had finally gotten an ihop in simpsonville but what a dissapointment. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. We didn't even get to try the food--we didn't get past the service--or lack thereof, I should say. We seated ourselves, after NOT being greeted when we came in on a Friday night a bit after 10:30. We sat at our table for 7-8 minutes before the manager brought us menus; had to ask him for those. We waited about 2-3 more minutes after the waitress brought us water. My fiancé wasn't quite ready to order, which she stated to the waitress, after which we were made to feel COMPLETELY INVISIBLE!!! After another 10-11 minutes of NO ONE coming to take our order, much less look in our direction we left without placing an order. This location should be renamed from IHOP to I DON'T CARE!!! Horrible location!!! Avoid if you really want good service!!!! read more

When it first opened, everything was always good. Since then nothing but down hill. Service got horrible and food takes FOREVER to get. Regardless if it's packed or you are the only one in there, be prepared to sit, and wait, and wonder to what goes on back in the kitchen for the food to take this long. A year or so ago this review would have been completely opposite, however now.....don't, just don't. read more

We come here often and love the staff. When they're busy, all is well, if it's not, seems like people are slacking. We usually go on weekends for breakfast and it definitely beats the Woodruff location for wait time! read more

Not just once, but enough to make me leave the review.... If you are a "breakfast place", be SURE your cooks can prepare eggs correctly. Kind of a "must". Not once, not twice, but it won't happen a third time. Seems easy enough?? Jeez. read more

Gone there several times thinking it would be good because the one on woodruff is fantastic. However, we walked out after waiting over an hour to get our food. Terrible service like other reviews have said. If you have to go to an IHOP, just drive the extra 10 min to the one on woodruff road. If herpes could be a restaurant, this would be the international house of herpes. read more

Well, I'm happy to report that my family had a wonderful experience here and can't wait to come back. The service was prompt and the servers courteous. My kids are very picky and really test most servers but everything was right the first time. We were even asked if we had a preference for seating. We'll definitely be back again and again. read more

I love going to IHOP with my family and friends. This IHOP does not live up to the average level of IHOP. There manage has hired staff that is not responsible and does not serve its guest well. They brought out my families food slow, staggered, and cold. They forget one of our meals, a kids meal too, and then the manager took off the missing meal. This act of taking off a meal doesn't not change our overall experience. They need to hire new staff and get a new manager. read more

Went on Thursday afternoon and my table of two was the only one in the entire restaurant. The entire time we were there we were the only table. The pregnant waitress or hostess or manager didn't even want to bother seating us. She walked past us a few times pretending we weren't there and finally huffed over to us yelling back to the kitchen area for someone else to seat us because she didn't know where they wanted us.....we were the only ones there...did it matter? She was instructed to seat us much to her evident dismay. She then kept yelling back 20's 30's where do you want them? Totally empty restaurant again did it matter? Our waitress was very sweet and very young, she was trying to do a good job just new it seemed. Our orders were both a little wrong. Pancakes not right and missing stuff from one omelette but overall the food was good. Just the service and the overall employee annoyance at customers interrupting them in some way explains why we were the only ones there. I won't be back. Would not recommend. read more

This IHOP is probably the slowest IHOP. It should never take a long time to cook breakfast food. God forbid if they sit you next to the kitchen. I saw the waitress touching the pancakes with her bare hands. That is not sanitary. She was touching and pulling pancakes off and putting them on different plates. We will not be back. I will make the extra drive to go to Woodruff road. read more

Always have to wait to be seated because there are never any employees in the dining room. Come on get a bell for the door. Service is slow at best. Love IHOP. Just not this place. read more

It depends on what you order and who is working. I never come here unless the lot is under half full because the service and seating would just take waaayyyy too long. If you do come here make sure that you are not in a hurry. I always either get their omelette, pancakes, or waffles. These items are difficult to mess up. I don't care for my hash browns in the omelette, and there is no fuss about getting them on the side instead of in the omelette. Don't go when they are running specials because it is just not worth it. If you let your waitress know how you want your food, they usually try to get it to you the way you like it. Example: I like my waffle while it is still hot and crunchy. read more

When we arrived we were seated quickly and waiter got drinks to us quickly. There were only 4 others tables in the restaurant but it took over an hour for our food to come out!! We were not the only table that took this long to receive food! Numerous other tables were complaining. Once we received our food it looked like it had been sitting out for a while and was not fresh. The pancakes were cold. The manager was just walking around not seeming to care! We will never go back to this location!! read more

It seems every time we have gone to this ihop that there's always a problem. The place was empty, and we were sitting amongst dirty tables for almost an hour. In that hour, we never received our food. The only reason I sat there that long is because my kids were super excited about getting the green grinch pancakes. The server originally said they lost our ticket, and our food was being made on the fly. 15 min later, still no food. The staff was sitting at a table talking and acting like children the entire time. No one seemed to be concerned about the few customers that were there. We will never go back. Boo to IHOP read more

My daughter and I have made a tradition of visiting this IHOP about every other Saturday. That typically makes our visits during the busier time of day and the service we have usually is great. Every now and then we have to wait a little longer for refills or for the check to come but that is understandable under the circumstances. We like going and barring some catastrophic event, we will continue to go. read more
