I ordered the French toast with turkey sausage and scrambled eggs, which all were delicious. I ordered potatoes which were not completely cooked. Had breakfast at this location at 8AM on a Thursday. There were only a few tables seated at this later hour. This location does not serve alcohol as compared to the Woodruff Road location a few miles north. So, if that's your thing for brunch, it's another 10 minutes up the road. They have a wide selection here of both sweet and savory items. Bowls, hashes, wraps, and of course the Million Dollar Bacon (for an extra $3 if you order a breakfast entree). I had the classic with grits. Let's talk about grits. They use Bob's Red Mill yellow corn grits, which are coarse ground, served with butter, and they are pretty good! I'm picky about folks overly creaming or over cheesing their grits. These were cooked so that the creaminess comes from the corn, in part, and they were not gummy. I substituted the grits for the potatoes on the Classic. That's two cage free eggs, four slices of bacon, and whole grain thick sliced toast. You can have smoked ham or turkey or pork sausage links or chicken sausage patties and gluten free bread is also available (no charge to substitute). So they are really going for the healthier options and conscience of providing good choices. My eggs were correctly done over medium. My buddy had turkey sausage biscuits and gravy, two eggs and grits. Coffee is decent, and they set a carafe on the table as well as a milk jug/wine carafe of cold water. I believe the entrees were around $14 each. The service was fine, we sat for a while after eating without being rushed. This is a solid breakfast, especially for those who would like a larger variety of options. Three stars is good, four stars is amazing. Sorry Folks but I have visited this place dozens of times and the last two times have been very disappointing. Last time we visited it was Slow to be Seated because Staffing was the Problem, this time it was the Kitchen was Understaffed. When our Food came out my Sausages were burnt to a crisp, I called the waitress over She said Oh Sorry and returned with only one because they were out. Several other tables also sent back food items because of being over cooked. Seems either the Manager or Cook Manager should have Noticed this Way before or they just don't care how much Money they lose for the Business. Been to other FW's in the low country area and the food was great, ordered the same thing here and it was mid, as they say. We have frequented multiple times and it's still alright, nothing special. I'm so disappointed with our service today. My husband and I visited today with our daughter. We will not be back. What has happened to good service? Our server greeted us and then disappeared. After 15-20 minutes I asked a manager if we could order. He explained that our server was taking care of that big table. Which was 5 people and then he literally walked off. Two tables sat down after us and they were able to order before us. She eventually found her way to us and we ordered. The food was delicious BUT we never saw our server again. she never checked back! My husband had to flag her down for our check so we could leave. we got on the waitlist at 10:45 we had a party of 10. The website said it would be 20-30 minutes. We "checked in" at 11:05 and the didn't have a table yet set up. At noon, i asked how much longer. It had been 55 minutes from checking in and 1 hour 10 minutes from when we were told 20-30 minutes. Because half of the party had flights to catch, we asked at noon how much longer for our table and she said ANOTHER 45 minutes. That would have seated us at 1:00ish. we had to leave because we just didn't have 3 hours to eat. It wouldn't have been a problem if the wait estimate wouldn't have been so deceptive. 20-30 minutes turned into 2 hours with no guarantee it wouldn't be even longer. We had to leave and make do with fast food. Very disappointed in the "get in line" estimate. read more

Visited here again 6/16/23 with our granddaughter and her boyfriend. We used to frequent FW in another state, but have have been to this one a few times with family. The price of coffee is high here ($3.89). In fact, we considered all their prices to be high. I had the Elevated Egg Sandwich on GF bread, hubby had Turkey Sausage Gravy Biscuit, the boyfriend had a Ham & Gruyere Sandwich, and the granddaughter had the Skillet Hash. Three of us had coffee. We used made a reservation but there was still a not too bad wait. The place is always packed with people and lovely, which speaks to the service and food. I normally get the quinoa chicken bowl but the seasonal shrimp and grits were too good looking to pass up. The grits were thick and salted/seasoned just right. The star of the show was definitely the bananas fosters French toast. We shared that as a dessert. The service was exceptional. Our waitress gently checked on numerous times. She was very kind and friendly. Our food was great. It is a nice local healthy spot. I loved the colors of the fresh juice and the benedict. I did get the potatoes but was not fond of them. Not sure why but they were a bit tasteless to me. The juice was fabulous! I would like a bit more ginger though that's personal preference. I loved it as is too. We will be back. It's close to home and a nice stop. I also tried the Elote burrito and although they did not make is as requested, it was still one of if not THE best breakfast burrito I have ever eaten. First watch Simpsonville used to be the best! O didn't mind paying top price for the food when they opened. I've gone there over the last year to find the food not as good. The food was presented well and was cooked properly. Now the plate is thrown together missing toast or jam. The waitress was willing to get what was left off but by the time they returned I was almost finished. Over medium eggs came out over light, I sent them back on one trip. The service was great! Front of house staff were extremely helpful and kind. We waited about 20 minutes (we went around a peak time so the wait wasn't bad at all). We had a great experience with another location, but I've been here twice recently and have been disappointed with the food each time. An overcooked Frittata Rustica, funky flavor in the Market Veggie sandwich, and the greens on the side never have enough dressing. Maybe I'm making the wrong menu choices, but I really hate paying $20 for a meal and then leaving hungry. Just moved in down the street and had an Uber eats meal delivered from First Watch since all of our things are packed up. It was delicious! We've been trying to find a great beakfast spot, and I think we found it. I ordered the market hash and even with the order being delivered it was delicious. I got the granola yogurt as well, and my 4 year old enjoyed that. It was packaged with care for being delivered I was surprised it was still hot. We will be back to dine in for sure. read more

We have heard many good things about this new place in town. We went for breakfast Saturday morning and immediately took in the atmosphere, the fresh foods we were seated quickly and when I ordered my coffee I got my own carafe that I could sit and hug if it wasn't socially distancing. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach so trying to plan ahead I got the half waffle with one egg and bacon and it was magical the waffle was glorious, Belgian light and fluffy, my egg fresh cooked perfectly and of course the bacon called me because it was oh so crispy just like bacon should be. My darling hubby got the works omelette and it had cheese coming out of it the vegetables the meat it was quite delectable. Our server Emily was attentive and quick with refills she answered all her questions as this was our first time visiting. The food here is always consistently delicious, they offer gluten free options which is a rare treat. The service is generally ok, the wait staff is always very friendly...but it's the little things that - if improved - would make such a huge difference! It may not be their fault, maybe they're told to wait till the customer asks...but never once has a waiter offered a refill on a beverage (iced tea). I always have to ask. And only once has anyone ever brought butter and jelly WITH my toast. It's so odd! The grits are the best grits you'll get anywhere--absolutely delicious! Once you are seated, service is fast, friendly and efficient. We went to Tampa area First Watches once a week, so we're excited they have opened here in the Upstate. They just opened and already they're packed! And no wonder, they have a successful formula - great food, affordable prices, terrific service - works every time. They have wonderful iced tea, served in a glass, and the best thing is they carry Stevia in the Raw (very few restaurants do). They also bring you a fresh glass of tea for refills. We don't drink coffee, but the First Watches in Tampa were known for their great coffee. I always get the Superfood Kale Salad. It comes with chicken and a delicious maple vinaigrette. Love it! Sophia orderrd the Brilliant Beet Toast, which was a special. It comes with two fried eggs. Wherever First Watch opens, other breakfast (especially) and lunch places feel the competition.
