I got the Apple cinnamon whatever hot chocolate, breakfast burrito and fries on the side. The food was way too much for me to eat but I did end up eating all of it because I was really hungry. The server was really nice and funny and the ambiance was good for a ihop that we go back to almost every Black Friday so they probably know us at this point in time. This is the second time in my life going to an IHOP, and it only confirmed that you should not get pancakes at international house of pancakes. The food (I got some kind of eggs Benedict and boyfriend had an omelet) was actually fair for a chain restaurant, and the fruit was decently fresh. There was only one server for the entire restaurant, which was kind of crazy (it wasn't empty either). The pancakes had that horrible artificial strawberry sauce on them and we couldn't finish them. By the time I got home, I forgot the servers name (Starts with L, Dominican lady), but she is the star of the show. I had no clue that this IHOP is like a "Puerto Rico" and Island Latinos central. Front desk/hostess folks are young and a bit inexperienced, but they double over to help. The table had 13 'ricans (and its important because culturally you have to understand we all talk a lot and at the same time, and a good Latino server can handle it like a boss, and they did!) ranging from age 1 to 87 in a wheelchair. It's IHop. So don't expect culture coffee. Expect a lot of food for not a lot of money and consistently made. I don't call it "exquisite" - it's diner food made well and some of it over the sugar top. But it's always well made, not greasy and you can feed an army (as I did on this visit). Thus, as far as diners are concerned IHop gets a solid 4 star for the food. Unfortunately there aren't 10 stars for service on this visit. Good service? Hit and miss at IHop. On this visit, it was a solid 10 for attentiveness, listening, making sure everyone's meal was at the right temp, setting expectations and not missing a beat with our table and others. I had avoided coming to this particular IHOP for quite some time because they just didn't seem to improve. I came here the other day for breakfast and the service and quality was so much better than what it was before. I am not sure if they have a new manager on staff now but if that is the case, please keep up the good work. There was a long stretch of time where this restaurant was bottom of the barrel for me. Honestly was really impressed with the service and food here. Was a little hesitant going in because they were packed, however I was seated almost immediately to my surprise. Our server, Joshua was very friendly and efficient. What came as the biggest surprise to me was than even though they were extremely busy, my order was not messed up at all, and it was all perfectly cooked and tasted great. Came during breakfast time at 8:30am. It was not packed inside but the waitress did mention that they were under-staffed so it took a while for our foods to come. I also did notice some of the waitresses wear their masks with their nose hanging out while taking people's orders, which could be a concern for certain people during a pandemic. For the foods, what can we expect from a chain restaurant? I got the spicy poblano omelette, which is omelette stuffed with Poblano peppers, red bell peppers & onions, shredded beef, Jack & Cheddar cheese blend, fresh avocado, Poblano cream & chopped Serrano peppers. It tasted as expected from the ingredients except I didn't taste the spicy. And the omelette does not look like what they had pictured in the menu. You can compare my picture to the one in the ihop website. The menu picture seems to be doubled the size, so if you don't feel ripped off, it is definitely false advertisement. lol. Also, notice on my plate in the picture that there is a pink smudge. It could be from the waitress handling a strawberry dish before my omelette but it goes to show that if you ordered foods with allergy restrictions, they could have contaminated it. Orange juice for drinks was served in a glass with straws. The waitress was attentive and gave me a refill once but that was also because we waited a while for the food to come out. Got the hash brown that came with the omelette. You actually get a choice between that, fresh fruits, buttered toast, and pancakes. The hash brown was not good. The hash was flakey and not stuck together like the ones you get at Mcdonalds. It wasn't fried to perfection. It didn't taste good at all. Then, before we got into eating, we were given our bill. Overall, I would not come back. It was as expected for a chain restaurant foods but you gotta draw the line somewhere. There is a lot of lines I pointed out in my review. Hope that helps. read more

The food here is exquisitely delicious and very well cooked. The eggs are very dry and are in need of some salt and the hash browns are doo doo butt unless you put ketchup. The pancakes have very well select options depending on the pancake you get you will like it. The service is very nice and the staff are delightful. The area is in need of some music and is very quiet without conversation. Probably the worst breakfast experience I have had in the last 10 years. We ordered coffee/decaf and pancakes. The coffee appeared right away, which was nice. However it was lukewarm and weak. My wife sent her decaf back, saying it was not hot and tasted like it had come from the bottom of the pot. She decided to go with a glass of water instead. My coffee was barely warm, and almost tasteless. Unfortunately for me this barely warm, tasteless coffee was the highlight of the meal. 20+ minutes later, the pancakes arrived. They were so cold that butter placed between the pancakes wouldn't melt. I decided to pour some syrup on and give them a try anyway, but the pancakes "delaminated" as I tried to cut them. The only upside to this is that I got a chance to read the contents of the syrup packet: be aware that this syrup has never been within 100 miles of a maple tree, and that it is almost entirely made up of corn syrup. I'll leave you to decide whether not that is a healthy situation. Yummy? Not so much. The waitress did her best, and went to see the manager. This resulted in a 25% discount off the price of a meal that was only marginally edible. How generous! I spent almost 60 minutes at the IHOP in Northborough. I would have been better off if I had spent that time mowing the lawn, and I am allergic to grass. read more

Coffee was so terrible I could not drink it. We ordered chicken casedillas. Very little melted dry cheese and small tough pieces of the unknown . I brought it home . My husband said it was not chicken , maybe rooster . It was absolutely disgusting . Great customer service, even the host who was doing evening cleaning took the time to stop and open doors, smile, and say hi. The hostess was friendly, professional, and prompt. My favorite breakfast chain. This review is more about the specific branch located in Northborough. We went in early for a breakfast on a Friday morning and were greeted by the cheerful staff. The place was clean and bright and the staff were very attentive. This is my ihop visit after a gap of few years and am pleasantly surprised with their new menu and many combo options to choose from. I ordered an omelette with a side of 2 blueberry pancakes and the husband picked scrambled eggs with hash and strawberry pancakes on the side.our orders were not humungus like I previously remember iHop orders to be. The portion sizes were perfect and we were able to devour off.I really loved the hash which was perfectly made with a light crunch and tons of flavor. The pancakes were great and no bad surprises with either of our orders. I had a star off for the coffee which by all means needs a serious improvement. read more

The guy working instead of putting our name down, came close to the counter so many times, not even looking at our face.. We saw 8 people leaving without being served.. They waited so long, they gave up. We had to get the guy's attention to put our name down so we could sit down in the waiting area. (The restaurant was NOT busy, only 6 tables occupied). After everyone else had left and there was just my husband and I left, the guy came with a huge smile on his face and said: "Did everyone else leave?" My husband said Yes...
