Cant go back yesterday was very disappointing !! Not sure if the manager is checking what comes out of the kitchen but ...needs too even our waitress said wow the hash brown are burnt to a crisp and forgot to put the eggs on the plate so she had them make a entire new plate. I am at the Morristown,TN location and I have to say this has been my best experience I have ever had at an IHop!! My server Brandy was one of the biggest reasons for this. She never stopped moving helping customers making sure our table had everything and kept the room clean as she went. read more

We are regulars on Sunday for several years. Our service, with very few exceptions, has been excellent. Have noticed those few didn't last long. Micheal is an icon, he represents customer service so well! The manager is amazing. You would be hard pressed to guess who is the manager because she is bussing tables, putting out silverware. She is in constant motion along side her staff. We look forward to many more years enjoying the food, staff and friendly atmosphere at our local IHOP! read more

Came here today around noonish ! The only reason I'm giving this place one star is cause our waitress was a sweetheart and very good and efficient And the coffee was hot ! The restaurant and kitchen was filthy as was the women's restroom ! I watched the busboy literally clean off all the dirty tables around us (4) never wiping them down and never even cleaning up the filthy floor and then seated new customers, I was appalled! I'm surprised the health department hasn't shut this place down - we drove here from Daytona beach after a vacation and decided we just need to stay and eat -- next time I'll go hungry as I don't do filth - I live up in harrogate and come to Morristown often and will never come here again - do not recommend read more

The food is amazing, but the service is terrible. It took them 20 minutes to just sit us down, brought us a kid drink and said they were gonna fix it to an adult drink but never did. We had an excellent breakfast. Arrived around 10:30 on a Thursday and there was no waiting. I got an omelet with cheddar, peppers and onions and a side of sausage link. Omelet was huge!! If you look at my other reviews you'll see this is not at all the type of place I usually go to. But...you are on the interstate, you need to stop and grab a bite to eat and work (write a story with a late deadline) and need internet....what are you going to do? So I stopped here. If my experience had been just typical of such places, I would not bother to write. But it was so good. The waitress (who seemed to double as hostess) listened to my request (I needed a plug in for computer, mainly) and took me way out of the way, to a nice quiet table. Despite being out of the way, she came by often during my lengthy stay to check on me. I wanted to get coffee first (done) then order later when I was done with work-- she came by at least 3 times to see if I was ready to order. When I did, the food came out sooner than expected so it sat there as I finished and sent the article in. So- she twice asked me if I wanted her to reheat it, once I was done working. How nice....she did so, and when she came back even said she just replaced some of it because it wouldn't re-heat well! The food was OK-- classic breakfast items and pretty good (soft) pancakes. I was definitely full. I thought the menu had lots of variety, the prices were pretty good, and the service was excellent. I would not choose to eat a regular meal here in 1,000 years, to be honest, but for a place fitting what I needed at that time, it was quite good and service was wonderful. read more

One star is generous. Our waitress was rude and paid us no mind. The food was cold, eggs under cooked, and the food tasted as if it had been sitting out. My sister had to rush to the bathroom after eating her omelet and pancakes to throw it back up. My other sister then came out of the bathroom saying, she had seen a server leave the bathroom without washing her hands. The place needs to be majorly cleaned and stocked with better servers. This is our third chance we gave them they are unsanitary and didn't wear gloves to pick dirty dishes up and then proceed to hand other people their food.The manager was also wiping her face and then touching plates that peoples food was on. we stopped at this ihop and MaKaya was our server. we ordered our drinks with her which was a water and a Mountain Dew. she brought out a Pepsi and Mountain Dew. when we told her it was a water instead of what she brought she sounded kinda rude about it and said she thought I had said Pepsi. And then our daughter ordered her chocolate milk and she brought that back and we ordered our food. We didn't see her again until she brought out our food in which she didn't ask if we needed anything and just walked off. A few mins later we found a hair in our daughter's food and she didn't want it anymore. We didn't see the waitress until she brought back our check and then we told her there was hair in our daughter's food and she sounded rude and said "I'll go let my manager know". she comes back a few minutes later and says we just took it off and then I literally waited like 20 mins to pay while she was just standing around talking to everyone. she even came to check on a table next to us, looked at my money sitting on the table as she passed and still passed by. And then when she finally came to my table so I could pay she took it. The bill was 37.57. and I paid 100.57. she came back with 62.43 which didn't make sense either. This was by far the worse service I have ever received and we will probably not be back. read more

I love breakfast food but I am one of those people who doesn't enjoy doughy, underdone hash browns. So when I ordered food at this restaurant I made sure to ask for extra-well done, crispy hash browns. My fiance followed suit. I had no idea what kind of tidal wave that this request would send into motion. When our food arrived at the table I noticed our hash browns were white in color, not nearly crunchy but instead a spongy mass of potato. Ok....I've worked in the food industry for a decade now and I know that you can. Put them on the grill, scatter them a little, and then wait. Heck, I could have done it for the cook if he wasn't sure he was up to the challenge. She took the plate back, finally, and, after screaming and looking for the cook at the top of her lungs while bad mouthing my order loudly, a different waitress returned with the entre, letting it sit on the table and get cold while I was waiting for the rest of my food. Heat lamps? Why use those? They're just for looks, apparently. My hash browns came back still white and doughy, just covered in more oil. Employees in the back screamed "those won't be crunchy enough for her." REALLY? By this time I had given up, just wanting to eat my dinner and get out of this place. Sorry, I don't like being treated like a nuisance, especially if I just ask nicely. The manager came over (or at least I think it was the manager. She was dressed in plain clothes) and asked if everything was ok and if my hash browns where cooked good enough. I looked at them and nodded, just wanting to be left alone now. Instead, she took a look at my hash browns and said that she was going to bring me some more because those shouldn't have been taken back to the kitchen like that and should have just been remade and that she would discount our ticket. I said "no, please. I don't need anymore hash browns." She brought some back anyway....once again white and doughy. What do I need with more undercooked hash browns???? Please just let me eat in peace. What was worse, after being badmouthed by not just 1 but 2 waitresses and then seeing the manager at my table, the meal was in fact NOT discounted and we paid in full. I will NOT be going back to this place. It's sad that a little request for crunchy hash browns had to end in employees belittling and mocking a customer just because she wasn't satisfied with what she was getting for her money. Chose IHOP over Zaxbys and Ruby Tuesday for supper, and I owe an apology to those that were riding with me for the choice I made to eat here. I chose the "Colorado" omelette with pancakes, my girlfriend picked a salad with chicken, and my mother gave the fish and chips a try. Aside from the omelette, the rest was not worth the wait, the money, or the hassle. For a fast food restaurant, the "fast" must not have been explained very well to the staff. There might have been 4 other groups, and our meals still took at least 25 minutes to get to the table. And that time didn't allow them to cook the fish or the pancakes, as they were both unfinished pieces of work. My mother gave the majority of her plate back to the waitress and when how little she ate was mentioned, she said "I can't eat raw fish". A promise of a free meal was offered, rather than deducting the inedible food from the bill. Honestly, if you screwed up a meal, where's the incentive for the staff to do better on a free meal in the future? Anyway, this place is crossed off my list of restaurants in Morristown. read more

First, I got here at 2:00 pm. I'm not kidding, I was the only customer in the section they put me in. Surprisingly, I was seated in the section they were cleaning. So I got to enjoy listening to the vacuum. Luckily they finished before my food got there, or I'm pretty sure that's a health code violation. Second, it took 30 minutes to get my food. But, it was good so that's why I gave it 3 stars. My server was sweet, but not terribly efficient. Third, and this is what really bothered me, the staff was loudly joking with each other, sitting in the dining room section with me. There's this whole restaurant, and staff has to hang out in the only section with a customer? Especially one you just vacuumed around and climbed in and out of the surrounding booths changing syrups? We eat at this IHOP after church on Sundays but today was the worst experience we have ever had. As we were sitting there waiting on our food. I saw an omelet sitting in the window along with other items we had ordered. It sat in the window for over 10 minutes and I watched as the gathered the food and proceeded to our table. Our food was cold, the kids were so hungry that they ate it anyway. I could only eat half of my omelet, because it just wasn't good. it was suppose to have had green peppers and onions, i only found 2. I had to ask someone to send our server to our table because our drinks had not been refilled. We actually waited on our food for well over 45 minutes. This was the worst experience we have ever had at this location. Needless to say, I don't think we will be back there. Don't get me wrong, I hardly ever complain but this was just unacceptable. I could understand if they were busy but they were not. I guess we will have to find somewhere else to take the kids after church. Its sad cause they really like going there and for them to complain about their food being cold. my sister and i went to the ihop restaurant in Morristown Tennessee on Tuesday November 5th 2019. we are both in our 50's. I asked the manager who greeted us for a table away from the children. she immediately told me that was not possible. so when the waitress who would be waiting on us came to seat us, the manager told her that "he" asked to be seated away from children, and I told him no. so we were seated across the aisle from 2 tables with children, came to find out a bit later that one table was the waitresses husband and 2 and a half year old child. we ordered our drinks and told the waitress that we needed a minute to figure out what we wanted to eat. when she came back with our drinks and was taking our orders, she looked at us as if she smelled feces. she snarled the entire time she was taking our orders. we got our food and it was good. when she brought the food to our table, one of the children seated near us started crying and screaming. I told the waitress that was the reason I asked to be seated away from children. that's when the waitress pointed to the other table and said, I have a 2 and a half year old myself. I asked her if the crying child was hers and she said no, it was the other table. thing about it was the parent of the screaming child wasn't doing anything to make the child stop crying. skipping ahead....... when we started to leave I told my sister to NOT leave a tip as we had been treated like crap by the waitress, but she laid down $1, said she didnt want to not leave anything, and we went to pay. the waitress walked by the table and grabbed the dollar from the table and slammed it down on the counter in front of my sister. we paid our bills and started to leave. we went out to the vestibule and stopped to put on our coats. we looked back into the restaurant and the waitress was standing there waiving the dollar around in the air while saying something to the manager and pointing in our direction. my sister said she wished she had listened to me and not left a tip at all cause she was in there bad mouthing us. so we left the restaurant and started to get in the car. that's when the waitress came to the door and pushed it open and asked my sister if she had something to say. my sister told her it wasn't a pleasant experience and that we had asked not to be seated near kids. the waitress told us that the little girl had smashed her finger in a door and that's why she was crying. I have never been chased out side of a restaurant by a waitress being a smart ass. and if that's the way ihop lets their employees treat paying customers, we can find other places to eat. her name was Jessica, and I didnt get the managers name, which was a mistake, but she had dark hair. I cant believe the manager allowed the waitress to follow us outside and get mouthy with us, she cant be much of a manager !!! I understand them wanting to keep customers seated close together, but there was another group of people who were seated at the far corner of the restaurant. and while we were eating our food, the manager and waitress were not paying attention to the front and a few customers stood and waited to be seated before finally giving up and leaving. just not good customer service at all. its a shame because we like eating there. just not sure I will be returning after this last trip, and I will be telling my other family and friends about the experience !!! it will take a miracle to happen before I go to this particular ihop location again, after being treated like that !!!!!!! read more

Our server was good & fast. Left a 10$ tip. Servers are pretty good & quick. BUT the food is subpar. Over cooked/burnt bacon, burnt sausage, cold eggs, over cooked onion rings, & burnt hamburger on the outside while still mostly raw on the inside. It's like the cooks don't care but the servers do. If it wasn't for the food, it would be pretty good. I go pretty much every month to that one. I was hoping the time we went before this most recent visit was maybe a bad day. Apparently, I'm not the only one who has problems with this one either. Again, servers are great. Good CS, quick even when busy. But not the food. The last time we went to this place was the final straw. We kept giving them one last chance to prove themselves. I cannot remember what my husband ordered, but being in the mood for fish, I ordered the fish and chips. HUGE mistake. The fish wasn't raw, it was so over cooked that it was mushy. We usually eat here after church but lately it's been going down hill after today will no longer eat there. We arrived at 12:30 did not receive our food till 1:40 and they were not very busy. Our food was only Luke warm except for the hash browns they were actually hot. My granddaughter ordered Mac and cheese off of kids menu and it was suppose to come with applesauce which I checked with our server to make sure instead she received French fries and when I question our server she argued with me that we ordered fries finally brought it and better much slam it down on the table and walked off .
