Listen...it's all about perspective. It's ihop and about the only place to get food 24/7. We decided to visit at 4am and let me tell you, the ambiance is not ideal and there are people in there you might not want to see, but I knew what I was getting into. Our service was not super nice at first, but she warmed up to us once she realized we were like her other problem tables at 4am. To our surprise, the food was great! Service is extremely slow, unorganized, and disinterested. Even though there seems to be as many employees onsite as customers, we didn't get what we ordered. The "waiter" just typed in the default and disregarded any specifications. Don't bother unless you have an hour or so to kill waiting for them to come back after you put in your drink order. My breakfast was great. My server Christian did a good job. I did speak with management about how especially the male servers don't smile. There was only 1 server that I had any negative remarks on. She ( Ashley I think ) had an ear piece in and was on the phone, the whole time I was sitting and eating. It was handled while I was still there. Overall it was good service. What happened to the place. Was in town and paid my first visit in over 10 years and it has gone downhill. The place was cold, dark and felt dirty. It is Dec and it felt like they had the heat turned off and only halve the lights turned on. The food was cold before I finished it. It was busy but it still took over 15 minutes to get my server so I can pay my bill and leave. What happened to paying at the desk where you can watch what they do with your credit card? It always made me nervous when they take your card and disappear. It is not to say the food was bad. It was good... while it was still warm. I got ham and cheese omelette, hash browns and sausage links. We entered the restaurant at 10:50pm, didn't get our drinks until 11:20, didn't get our food ordered until 11:30, and didn't get our food until after 12. Once we did get our food, it was literally cold. The server came up to our table a total of three times throughout the night, and we talked to the other waitress more than we did our own server. When we entered the lady at the counter quickly seated us. Past that the experience was horrifying. We sat there waiting, when like 10 minutes had past I received a phone call that lasted for at least another 10 minutes and still no one had taken even a drink order. We left almost an hour after arriving and didn't even get to order a drink. The place was in need of cleaning. It was nasty. The people working were just rude. I will never darken their doors again. The worst of the experience was there were only four cars in the parking lot so they were not busy, and I noticed almost everyone working there was African American, and we happened to be the only Caucasian people there. The front house service was horrible. First off, customers were having to wait 5-30 minutes for an already empty table, or in other words, no waiter would seat them. When we sat down, the table was dirty, but they cleaned it upon asking. Our drink order was wrong when we got them. All we ordered was a sweet tea and chocolate milk, and yet it took them 15 minutes just to bring them. Maybe they had to make a new batch of tea. When getting our drinks, they only handed us a sweet tea and coffee, I don't remembering asking for a coffee. It wasn't added to our ticket by the way. While we were waiting on our food, one group was waiting to get a table, and 30 minutes later, they left. I would of too. When we got our food, it was decent. Eggs could of been cooked a little longer, but they were good, so i can't complain about the food. The only thing I'm dissatisfied about is the service. There were many things that seemed wrong about the way they ran the restaurant that day, so if you consider eating here, always know, that there's a waffle house. We overheard them saying someone put water in the syrup in the back. The health department definitely needs to come shut it it down. It is disgusting. I honestly did not make it to the food. We walked in and the "hostess" was standing at the desk. She did not say hello nothing grabbed two menus and started walking. We followed her and she stopped at the first table laid the menus on the table and walked away. Late night service isn't great the building was empty and I stood for 15 minutes to be seated even after the person cleaning the lobby called for someone else I eventually seated myself and grabbed my own menus and then it took another 15 minutes for me to get my order taken, and the waitress doesn't even have a smile on her face or a single happy bone in her body I got the Mexican Tres leches about 20 minutes after my order was taken before I was even serve my first drink, which was a Dr Pepper down to the last bite of my Mexican tres leches my burger finally came with my milk. The milk was supposed to come with the Tres leches the burgers hot the fries are hot but that's what you expect when there's nobody else here the waitress hasn't checked on me at all my glass empty my patience, waining it's not looking likely that I would like to pay for this experience when I told the waitress I don't think I should pay for it for the service and the burger being as bland as wet clay she laughed and said "your not paying for it?!and yelled for her manager across the room. I had to try the new burgers. So, I had the jalapeño burger with fries. It was pretty darned good. I wouldn't say it was the best ever, but it was pretty tasty. The bread was really the star of the show. It's nice and airy but also very tasty. The meat was cooked a little more than I like, but it still tasted pretty good - especially for a pancake place. It had a lot of extras on it. Jalapeños of course, but also lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and mayo. Honestly, I felt like it had too much stuff. But I ordered it that way so I'm not really gonna complain about it. The pepper jack cheese was fantastic. It was perfectly melted and very delicious. The service was spot on - which is where IHOP usually fails. Our waitress was nice and accommodating without being overly annoying. Overall, I give the experience 4 stars. My wife was held hostage at IHOP in Jonesboro Ar today. The card readers went down just as they went to scan our debit card. We waited for 20 minutes while they tried to scan our card. I told them that I had several cards and they stated that no ones cards are working. After around another 10 minutes the very unprofessional manger came and told us we would have to pay with cash. My wife asked if we had any other options and he laughed and said he had plenty of dishes to wash. I didn't find this funny. I had to leave my wife as collateral and go to a bank that charged me 4 bucks to get out a couple of twentys to give the lady that waited on us. She got a nice tip. I didn't blame her. It was the manager. Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my life. The place states that it accepts debit and all major credit cards. A good manger would have offered to let is leave and come back to pay. Of course some people would not return but most would have including me. While my husband and I were out at this IHOP Store number 1491 in Jonesboro we both ordered the Colorado omelette add mushrooms one with hashbrowns and one with all you can eat Pancakes (that was the features special "Omelette with all you can eat pancakes). Three (3) bites into the omelette my husband alomost chocked on a rusty nail that had rivets in it. It was slightly bent as if it was removed from something. He spit it out and I proceeded to ask him what was the matter? He didnt answer. He spit the rusty nail as well as the food out into his hand. I saw something that appeared to be a dark object. As he wiped the food from it,I asked again, he proceeded to spit the remainder of the food from his mouth while handing me the item. I was shocked when I grabbed it because I saw it was a rusty nail. I went and spoke to kitchen staff who alerted the manager. The manager Sonia McMiller was the manager on duty. She didn't seem to believe me and said "Let me go look at the cameras to review what happened". I replied "Please do!". Afterward, she told me that they didn't have anything like that in the restaurant and asked to hold the rusty nail. She did not deny that my husband could be seen on the camera spitting out the rusty nail. I refused to turn over custody of the rusty nail and told her I would accompany her to view the cameras. She declined. I then suggested she take a picture of the rusty nail which she did. I also took a picture of the rusty nail which is included as the picture for this review. She then said maybe she should fill out an incident report. Which I thought would be standard. She never offered any compensation for our healthcare scare because Hepatitis A has been a problem in several restaurants in Jonesboro,Arkansas in the past several months. There is video of my husband removing this rusty nail from his mouth,yet there was little to no concern for his health scare or inconvienence. We were given the name and number of the District manager Victor Cruz ,which I'm hopeful will be concerned enough and offer some form of apology and /or compensation. Luckily my husband didn't choke on the rusty nail but he did bite into the rusty nail ,and we still don't know if he has tetanus, or has contracted something else from this incident which is actually a health scare and hazard. My husband is going to go to the pharmacy and have a Hepatitis A vaccination administered. We are both appalled to put it mildly. Especially since IHOP didn't handle the situation to our ,or any paying customers, satisfaction. There was a true lack of compassion and constant repeating of; "We dont have nothing like that in our kitchen." "I dont understand how that could happen.". Along with other comments that lacked feeling of TRUE concern. That was what was presented. That was the atmospheric felling while this happened. Also,not much concern or offering of a true apology or denial of the camera footage showing him remove the rusty nail from his mouth. We were not charged for the meals. But we still feel uncompensated for our health and our safety. Which should come first in customer service in our opinion. My husband actually left the building when it first happened because he needed to rinse his mouth out before returning. There was a large officer present in the restaurant but he never intervened or offered any assistance to us. The date was 3/14/2019 at 11:55 p.m. I gave a one star review with prejudice in order to post this review in hopes that a small child,or anyone else is injured in the future by this restaurant. I am hopeful that the District manager contacts us concerning this matter. He has our information as I do his. (See pictures). It is my opinion that everyone should avoid this restaurant that is concerned for thier health. I am not angry at the restaurant. Im dissapointed in how the matter was handled. There is a real need for training and empathy,as well as,customer service at this location. And a protocol for handling such incedences. I would advise against eating here. read more

Well, service has gone down again. It seemed very promising when the manager came over as soon as we sat down asking if our drink order had been taken. As we sat looking at the menu we noticed how so many people didn't have their food, but there was a ton of food in the window. Suddenly it seemed that another manager came back from her break and started getting things back in order. Everyone flocked to the kitchen and food started to come out. We could hear waiter telling the cooks "This bacon is burnt! You gotta make more." It was a mess. The bread on my cheesesteak was burnt and the meat had no flavor. The Jonesboro, Arkansas IHOP is one of the most disappointing restaurants in the area. They are understaffed and dirty, and every time I have been there, they have not made improvements. Do not recommend going after 9 pm. They are super under staffed and the people that they did have would not do their job. We waited there for over 40 minutes to just get our drink orders in. Once we got out DRINK orders in our waitress never came back!! We had to ask multiple waiters about who was coming to get our orders. We put our orders in after 30 minutes of waiting and another hour goes by and some friends got their food, but not me and my boyfriend's. Turns out ours were on the counter cold and they had to re do them. Overall we waited around 2 hours to get service.
