The service was top notch, our waitress was fast and friendly. She even offered suggestions from their specials. Food came out super fast but not very hot. The sausage and bacon were cold. The ambiance is a well lit clean cafe with plenty of seating. The booths are in need of desperate attention (as shown in photos) The biggest downfall is parking, the lot is tiny and shared with Starbucks. I stopped by for breakfast and had a pretty good experience overall. Our server was super sweet and attentive, and she gave some great menu suggestions. The food came out quickly, but it could've been warmer -- the bacon and sausage especially weren't as hot as I'd hoped. Not sure if my combo meal was worth the $13 I paid. The place itself has a bright, casual vibe and feels clean and inviting, though some of the booth seating has definitely seen better days. While we have ordered from them in the past and always had excellent service, this last time left us wanting. My wife order the NY cheesecake pancakes, with strawberries and whipped cream. They gave her sour cream instead of whipped cream. Unfortunately, she did not notice until she added it on top of her pancakes. I ordered the Colorado omlette with hash browns...which they forgot to put in the order. As we ordered them for carry out, did not notice the mistakes until we got home. So I was on my way from Frankfurt, Illinois to Rochester, Minnesota and right about Janesville. I need gas. I needed to pee and I was hungry so I pulled off there looking for someplace to handle all three well I couldn't find a restaurant that had gas, but there was a gas station right next-door to this IHOP so I went in there for a late lunch, I ordered a short stack of done crêpes with honey to put on them plain crêpes. They got it right they got them crispy around the edges. They were great and their coffee was good and the waitress was very pleasant and the bathroom was clean so this is an easy five star. read more

The booth cushions were extremely worn out. Basically like sitting on a railroad track. The server was very dry, not very welcoming, obviously, did not want to be there. Excellent!!! The food was perfect!! Perfectly Iight pancakes! The Spicy Poblano was huge and fresh. The best part of this location was our waitress. Her name was Aseel. She was wonderful. I have been to this place multiple times but decided to write a review today to endorse slow but sure improvements. I remember going there in 2018 and the place sucked ! Later they did a face lift but the staff seemed rushed ! This time, not only the place looked way cleaner than before but also the staff paid attention ! Chicken breast was well done, omelette was made to perfection. Not giving a five star since staff took some time to keep our coffee pot filled. Will go again and happy to see the place doing better as there are not much places in Janesville right off of highway to attract all those interstate travelers. read more

My sister, Grandma, and I walked in, it looked clean and nice. Not much noise at 10am, which was nice. Got to our booth and it was freezing I was already pretty cold so it just made me extra cold. It made my food cold pretty quickly but keep my drink cold. I went to the bathroom before we left, and the bathroom smelled horrible like someone took a crap and just made it linger in the room. I almost threw up. The server was nice and humorous. When she handed the check she said "worst part of the meal the check" and gave it to us it was pretty funny. Horrid service, and i ordered for pickup. Story follows. I called in and ordered togo, so i could pick up on the way home. 1) First off, I was on hold for about 5 min or as it felt, I was putting in one order togo. After 3 times she asks me to "hold on", so i just wait thinking its busy. I make my order but waitress never asks how I want my food nor my name or number and hangs up. 2) i get to ihop, go to pick up my food, she says she thought they had the entree (which i thought as well because i had recently ordered it at a different ihop location). Oh and there is maybe 1 or 2 tables occupied at this time. (Why was I on hold for so long?) 3) she hands me a menu and I immediately get irritated, but I didnt want to be mean or anything. I just said I have no time to just stand around and wait, hence I called the order in I got irritated because when i went in, they didnt look busy and both waitresses were on their phone which makes me think she put me on hold to look at her phone. Terrible. I dont think ill ever go to this ihop again. Theres a Denny's nearby. read more

This IHOP is clean with modernized furnishings and a modern-diner feel. The staff are friendly and the service is timely. That being said, it is still an IHOP. I would say the food here is basically the same as every other IHOP I have been to, including the one in Wichita, Kansas. I had the French toast along with hashbrowns. It was warm, enjoyable, and homey. As you probably know, IHOP serves fairly cheap breakfast/American-traditional food. It isn't fantastic, but what you get is definitely worth the $10 or less you probably paid for your meal. As IHOPs go, i do certainly recommend this location. If you are looking for a cheap and easy breakfast spot this will do the trick. read more

Used to come here nearly every wee with my BF a long time ago. Kind of our Saturday tradition but eventually stopped coming after the place start to stink. The dining area reeks of old grease deep frier oil. We finally stopped going after we came home smelling so bad we showered immediately after coming home. The small was in our clothes and hair. That was about a year ago. Went again today to give them another try. Food is fine, but we again had to shower after arriving home. Wish I liked it more, but the smell is unbearable. read more

When you're driving across three states in the middle of the night to take care of a problem that will undoubtedly be agonizing and soul-crushing, it's nice to be able to stop and have some good food and good service. That's definitely what we got at this IHOP. Our local IHOP is a regular haunt for one reason and one reason only: service. And I have to say, we got just as good service in WI. The waitress was very welcoming. Even though it was the middle of the night and we were the only customers, I felt very much as if I'd walked into my local IHOP. The food was very good; I had my classic omelette, and Ericka A and Celeste S had the new Griddle Melts, and they loved them. I had one of them for the next morning's breakfast, and I have to say...a nice fallback if I'm not in an omelette mood. Good for a generic place to eat breakfasts. Very nice wait staff. The parking lot, however, is a nightmare. Park on the side of the building or you will be pinned in by the Starbucks drive-up line. You won't be able to back out during morning rush. That can not be good for business. read more

The food was excellent but the in-dining service not so much. When we arrived they sat us at a table that was not clean at all, then we asked to be moved and the table they moved us to was also dirty, so they had to hurry and clean them off. Our server also was not wearing a mask or gloves the entire time she served us. I even over heard her speaking with a customer agreeing with the customers comment that social distancing is BS. Our party of nine celebrated my mom's 92nd birthday at IHOP/Janesville. The manager gave us a separate space for our luncheon, divided from the main dining area by a wall with windows--very pleasant! We brought in a few decorations and a cake, so it seemed "just like home" except we didn't have to cook or clean up! Our server, Melissa, was fantastic! Everyone enjoyed their food, and there were many comments about how good it was. Mom and I visit this IHOP fairly often, and we've found both the service and the food to be top-notch. read more

The worst breakfast and breakfast experience I've ever had. Yuk. My omelette was awful. There menu is designed to confuse. It list Sausages (2) and give a price $3,99. Then, when you ask for the two sausages, they give you two split down the middle and charge you $3.99 twice. Breakfast for one, with coffee, and omelette, and two sausages was $21. I have not been to an IHOP in years, maybe decades (and I'm only in my third) and that for good reason. We were in southern Wisconsin for a wedding the night before. What better way to try and cure a night of heavy drinking than with mass produced synthetic eggs, biscuits and gravy and whipped butter topped Belgian waffles? It was a good idea that didn't end being a great choice. My waffle wasn't bad but that's about it. The food is so cheap it should give you pause from the start. Eggs, bacon and hash browns accompanied my waffle without fanfare. Dustin is the brave soul who ordered the biscuits and gravy while Carson went out on a limb with a seasonal crepe. The best however was Holly wanting Eggs Benedict that arrived with a boiled egg instead of poached. Oh well. We ate, we recounted our evening (from our perspective), and made our way back to Chicago. If you have a choice, I'd skip the local IHOP no matter how good the pictures look. read more

Was here last night after driving for hours wanted a relaxing meal before driving many more hours. It was far from relaxing. Waitress's were very loud the whole time there heard about there friends and how much they hated paying for the assistant living and welfare of them. Also we had gotten 55 senior meal then waited for a long time for the bill had to ask for it , her response was sorry we were in a heated conversation about welfare and friends on assistant li9ving and we pay for it, I said yes we have heard this already the whole place did we didn't need to hear it again. then after getting bills.s he charged us for regular meals not the senior meal, the senior meal got less food . {which we got} husband was so pissed by now said just pay for it we wasted enough time waiting for the bill.. we still had hours to drive. So not only did we pay for food we didn't get, over charged, and had to listen to the waitress GIGI and another talk about people badly.. {although the food was good} WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ANY I-HOP AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very disappointed in the running of IHOP.. I eat here for breakfast all the time since I live Janesville, WI. I can honestly say the kitchen times are almost always quick. I think half of the servers are very nice there too. I've only had a few who must have had a day or something. If you are looking for a good breakfast and not wait an hour like some of the other breakfast restaurants then this IHOP is a good choice. read more
