Contrary to other reviews, at 10 AM on a Monday, we received fast friendly service, good food quickly, and had no complaints.

The interior is still decorated mostly as a Long John Silver's but it works. There are additional photos, etc. typical of Jamaica added. You order at the rear along the counter and they assemble the plate for you right away. The menu is available at the counter, and the workers are very helpful in describing the options and making suggestions. The food is placed in to-go containers even if you are dining in. We ordered the chicken and bacon pasta, jerk chicken, curried chicken, and curried goat. Sides were plantains, sauteed cabbage, and Spanish rice. The plantains were outstanding. They were cooked perfectly, with a gentle sweentess without being mushy. The sauteed cabbage was also excellent. It had a nice sourness to it that complimented the proteins very well. The Spanish rice was also good, with slightly different seasoning than Mexican rice. The jerk chicken was exceptional. The sauce was spicy without being overwhelming and the flavor exploded in the mouth. The curried chicken and goat were also very good. The curry had the slightest spiciness and a lot of flavor. One caution about the goat is be aware there may be shards of bone included. It appears they use a cleaver to cut the meat and this results in some sharp bone pieces. It's not a problem as long as you are aware. The chicken and bacon pasta was surprisingly good. It is much more than just a pasta dish with outstanding flavor and plenty of added proteins. All proteins were cooked to perfection and everything was so very good. Fi Mi Pot is a great addition to the Ft. O restaurant scene and absolutely deserves many visits.

I'm so impressed with their variety of vegan/plant based options. The mushrooms rundown ( that's not the name but that's what i'm calling it), was perfection. Juices and the Coconut Lemonade is a must have. Also I got to experience Jerk oxtails. It was spicy but very nice. This is definitely a dine in family friendly restaurant and is completely worth the drive, or door dash .

The space was open and had great natural light, even towards the back of the seating area, which makes it a great spot to sit for a while with friends, read, or do some work. (I didn't see if they had wifi, though.) It has plenty of parking, and even coming from Chattanooga, it doesn't take too long to get to by car. Plus, it's convenient to other things in the Fort O/Rossville area, since it's right on Battlefield Parkway. Just like at the Northshore location, my favorite food item was their buttermilk biscuit. It's huge! Even so, it's still buttery and crusty in all the right ways, and it comes with more than enough jam and butter to spread on each bite, making it a fantastic deal. I'd definitely come back just for the biscuit. Their coffee is good and affordable, but since it's not great, I can't rate Mean Mug more than 3/5. It's in the same ballpark as Starbucks, but a touch better. It does have a drive-thru as well, so it has the same kind of convenience without being a union-busting mega-corporation.

The churro coffee was decent but the turkey club was by far the worst sandwich I've ever had. My first bite was nothing but warm sautéd spinach which I thought was odd for a cold club wrap they second bite I dipped in the spicy mayo (which normally is good elsewhere) and I couldn't even convince my self to swollen that bite. It was just awful. Ended up paying $30 (somehow) for a decent coffee, the caprese (that was just okay) and a sandwich I ended up throwing out. Won't be back.

We started with the Brick Oven Pretzels and then ended up getting the Country Benedicts with hashbrowns, the Chicken & Waffles with bacon bits in the side, the French Toast Platter with side of bacon. The restaurant is cool. Open space with a full bar. They also have two conference rooms for hosting large groups. There are also several tvs with sports playing. It took quite a while to get our food, but it was hot. I tried the French Toast and it was still soggy in the middle, not completely done. Wasn't bad, just not how I like them cooked. My son must have liked the Chicken n Waffles because they did not last long, lol. I didn't mind my order. I didn't read that description through for the Country Benedicts but I'm not disappointed. I also inquired about catering and was told they do cater and have a smoker, pizza oven and that they go heavy on appetizers. Very nice!

I had the brisket and thought it was pretty good until I f noticed a black hair looking piece in my mouth.... We could not determine what it was and neither could the restaurant staff. What got me was they did not apologize or offer to replace the sandwich... they just said"we don't know what that is" and acted like everything was normal. They charged us for the food ( which my wife is mad because I paid) and went on like it was more our problem than theirs. So, I obviously do not recommend this place... unless you like mystery items in your sandwich.
