Went there on Labor Day while visiting the ares. I don't think we have sny left in Chicago, at least none locally. So it was a treat. It was await! I think thsr they had some staff not show for the holifay and maybe they just don't have bus staff. So they were having a time turning tables and dome people did not wait. Maybe a 15 minute wait. But I wait tbat normally for breakfast anyeay. The waitrr we hsd was a reslly nice upung man and he was really running around to take care of the tables. Service was slow from the kitchen, again, I suspect staffung from the holiday. So we were there like 90 minutes. Not a problem as it just means time to talk. The food was great. I really mean it. I miss IHOP. I had chicken and waffles, the chiclken was okay and The waffles wete great . Chicken pieces were smallish and overdone. 2 larger pieces might have worked better. I don't know, but random sized pieces cook at various times. No ome complained about the steak omellet which looked wsy better thsn it sounded and you can't go wrong with pancakes. I especiall miss more syrup, blueberry, strawberry, butter pecan and pancake original. So, despite people getting irate and leaving. It's a holiday People. The service here was really bad. I love IHOP and frequented the one on Hall rd, in Utica a ton and loved it!! So I was excited to find out they were building a location up here. But.. wow. Really? 25 minute wait to get a seat, almost an HOUR before we got our food. When we first got seated nobody came to our table for 10 minutes I had to flag someone down... the hostess took our order thankfully. Our "server" finally brought our drinks 5 minutes after that. When our food finally came out my scrambled eggs were about raw, I asked for a new batch and it did come out much more quickly and done which I was happy about. But gosh, I thought I'll get take out next time. People across the restaurant were seated after us and got food before us.. just frustrating. read more

I eat at IHOP's all over the country and over all am very satisfied with their service and food. Unfortunately, that is not the case at the one in my home town area. It opened a bit over two years ago. I met friends there several times when it first opened. The service was incredibly slow and incompetent, but I cut it slack because it was new. Still, it put me off and I hadn't been back. Yesterday I was in the mood for breakfast and I decided to go to the local IHOP. It was a mistake. I read a lot of negative reviews of restaurants, but rarely leave one myself as I'm not that fussy, but I'm making an exception for this IHOP as it was markedly inferior service compared to all the other IHOPs al over the country I have been in. Two waitresses passed me with nothing in their hands just after I entered and stepped up to the hostess counter. They didn't greet or acknowledge that I existed and just walked by. I thought "that was pretty ignorant". My experience at IHOPs is that whatever employee is nearest greets you as you walk in and at least says someone will be with you in a minute. About three minutes later another employee that I took for a manager or hostess by her outfit came up and started rifling through the hostess station without acknowledging me. Realize, I'm less than two feet away on the other side of the station with no one else around. I thought "unbelievable". After she walked off without making eye contact, greeting or acknowledging me I saw an employee that I assume was a manager by his dress shirt at the far end of the room. I know he saw me, but it took him four more minutes (I started timing things at that point) to wander to the front and ask if I had been helped. As I had been standing alone directly at the hostess station and not sitting in the nearby area where you wait when it's busy you know he knew I had not been helped. I said "no" in a tone that made it clear I was not impressed with the service so far. Without an apology he said follow me and proceeded to take me all the way to the back wall and seat me at the closest table to the kitchen. I'm not a snob and did not comment on this to him, but it seems weird to seat a guest at what most would consider the least desirable table unless that is the only choice. As the restaurant was considerably less than even a quarter full that wasn't the case. We literally passed well over two dozen booths and tables to go to the table on the back wall by the kitchen. The "manager" told me my server's name would be Nickole and said he'd return with silverware and walked off. He never returned. Nickole appeared five minutes later and took my drink order of a pop. Upon returning promptly with the pop she took my order and left. Twenty minutes later she brought my food and started to leave, and I had to say I needed silverware. As the table had been empty from the beginning, no silverware, no napkin that should have been obvious, but whatever. So, I had to wait another two minutes as my food cooled before getting silverware. The food was fine, but Nickole never came back to ask if I needed a refill or anything. I ended up having to call to her four times to get her attention as she was walking past (which she had done multiple times while I was eating without checking on me). I asked her for a refill, and she said she'd get me one. She didn't. As I was almost finished eating she came by and I heard her say to a passing bus server to do her a favor and get me a pop refill. He brought it promptly, but as I was done eating by then it gave me a pop to sip while waiting another eight minutes for the bill to be delivered. Nickole was prompt to take my credit card and process it and I grudgingly left a 18% tip as Nickole was friendly enough, albeit not very attentive. The facilities are bright, clean and cheerful and show it's still relatively new at just over two years old. I can't really comment on whether the service has improved efficiency wise as it was not busy at all while I was there and I attribute that to the crappy service attitude. The food was decent, but the customer service was ignorant. You can tell the extreme lack of common customer service of greeting guest is a reflection of the poor attitude and/or incompetence of the manager(s). I don't see myself returning to this facility by choice which is unfortunate as I like IHOP and the next nearest one is close to thirty miles away, but the ignorance of the staffing is a total put off. read more

I have never had such an awful experience at a restaurant! The waitress charged for items never received and got an awful attitude when we asked for it to be taken off the bill. Multiple things were forgotten about and again when they were asked for we got attitude. I will drive way out of the way and go to the Saginaw location before I ever step foot in this place again. The experience at IHOP with our party of 8 was the worst experience at a restaurant that I have EVER had. As we arrived, we noticed that there were many open tables and wondered why we had to wait so long to be seated. It took 20 minutes to be seated, and there were at least 20 open tables. Then, it took 20-30 minutes to get our drinks. Finally, the "assistant manager", Barb, came out to take our order. We ordered our food, and the next wait began. An hour passed - still no food. We contemplated leaving and going elsewhere, and my god, I wish we would have. Food finally started to come to our table, but it was only 2 plates at a time. By the time one had gotten their food, the person sitting next to them was already finished with theirs. There were at least 8 things that were incorrect with our orders. I waited 30 minutes after my food arrived for my french toast. The eggs were COLD. We were missing toast. We had incorrect pancake/French toast orders. It was a complete mess. To be honest, I have no idea how they are still open. They shouldn't be. Throughout this entire horrible experience, the host, Josh, did the best he could to make sure we were taken care of. This was not even his job! He was doing anything and everything that needed to be done throughout the entire restaurant. Our waitress, the "assistant manager" Barb, was absolutely horrible. In my opinion, Barb needs to be fired and Josh needs to be promoted to assistant manager. He is an employee who cares about the customers, unlike Barb, and is much better fit to be assistant manager. This is the most unorganized chain restaurant that I've ever ate in. First off I want to say our waitress was very pleasant and this review is no reflection on her. We did not have a large party and the service was slow. We ordered as a group, but ate separately as they served only a couple things at a time. ALL the food was cold, not Luke warm. Order items were forgot about until mentioning to staff. The last order delivered to table came as all others finished their meal. To elaborate, you can tell the items that came out first sat under heat lamp and was cold. Sausage and potatoes were burnt. One order was a vegan order that was a simple veggie omelette minus egg and cheese served with fresh fruit. They served part order of potatoes and no veggies. The fruit was not fresh and looked old and was not ate. Several orders had pancakes. When we tried to use the three flavored syrup on the tables, they were old and crusty around the pour spout. Looked as they have not been cleaned in a long time and syrup dropped out instead of poured. Over all this was a horrible family breakfast, and way over priced. We will not return. Next time we will choose to ihop to a better restaurant like Bob Evans. read more

I am honestly only giving this a 1 star because it looks newly renovated and it looks nice in there. The server was the only server on duty. The maximum number of tables I seen her have while we were there was approximately 7. When I was server back in the day I would have section of 10-15 tables. We walked in to the restaurant to the server getting made at a customer because she was trying to tell the server the food she is being delivered is not what she ordered. We got sat at our table and have 10-15 minutes the server finally made it over to take our order. The first words out of her mouth for some reason were my manager sucks! She hasn't done anything tonight. When he manager was feet away from her trying to smooth things over with the customer the server got mad at when we walked in. The biggest mistake I watch the server making is she wasn't writing peoples order down she was taking the order and then going and putting in the computer. So, they were coming out wrong I watched her complain to pretty much everyone who walked in the door that she is losing her mind because she is the only one doing anything. Or in the middle of customers order she was stop and ask the table next to them how their doing. She did not give each table her undivided attention when she was with them. I watched her multiple time in the middle of customers talking stop and talk to nearby table. If you suck at multitasking don't do it! We were a good distance from the kitchen and could her talking very loudly using profane language complaining about how she is the only one doing anything. This location is absolutely awful. For starters, when I asked our waitress about an item on the menu she told me I would have to ask someone else if they had it because she had only been there for three months and didn't know about the item. A few minutes later she came back to our table a asked if I had flagged someone down to ask about the menu item. We started contemplating leaving after not receiving good service and looking around at the dirty condition of the restaurant. Food was awesome! The service not so much! The place was dirty for starters but we figured a busy day made it hard to clean up. We were seated with 4 kids and were not offered kids menus or anything. After our waitress brought us our waters she left and didnt come back for 10 minutes. Then someone else came and took our orders because our waitress was in the bathroom. After he get our orders she comes out and takes them in. Food comes for half of us as we are sitting without silverware for at least five minutes before we asked a different waitress that was walking by if she could get us some. About twn minutes later the rest of the food comes and we ate and a recieved the check. Waited for 10 minutes for her to come back and ring us up. We stood at the front for probably 5 minutes before a host came up. We visited this IHOP having been excitedly awaiting it's opening....the property had been under construction since early 2016. Our visit was early morning on a Friday. The location is right off the very busy I-75/Miller Road interchange. Parking is ample. The interior is very modern, clean and stylish. The host told us there would be a 10-15 min wait, but we could see dozens of empty tables. However, we were seated promptly. Things sort of went downhill from here. Seems like the restaurant has only been open a few weeks. The kitchen AND the wait staff were struggling. Our table ordered simple, common IHOP items...Pancakes, sausage and crepes. Our meal took 40 minutes to arrive. We had to remind the server for silverware, water, refill pot of coffee several times. I don't think it was entirely her fault. I think some training and time...it was clear this was her first job waiting tables. As we waited for our meals, we watched the line to be seated grow. On top of this we could see (and hear) frustration all around us about the service and meal wait time. I truly believe that the staff were trying, but they all seemed to be in training mode and definitely needed some more time with a practiced leader to help them better prepare This restaurant did not seem ready to be opened and isn't going to survive if nothing is done. read more

Run Forest run, today March 5th 2020 everything you have read in reviews is absolutely true. Out of all the tables only 3 we're cleaned off. No time, no help to bus the tables. They only cleaned a table as needed by the next customer. Makes it dirty looking. My table had dried up ketchup stuck to the middle of the table. It's been there for awhile like days or weeks. It wasn't busy in there. Took 10 minutes to get our drinks, from the time we day down it took 45 minutes b4 we got our food. Which was luke warm at best. Only 2 waitress in the dining room. And I saw no amount of urgency in either one of them. And neither one helping the other one out. Our waitress apologized several times for the wait. I've dined here a handful of times and my previous experiences were decent but today I went in and had such an unpleasant experience that I don't think I will ever be returning. I also rarely leave yelp reviews, but the service was so bad that I feel it is my duty to prevent anyone else from experiencing the same service or lack thereof I should say. My mother and I walked in and were not met with a host until 5 minutes had passed. We were finally seated and did not see our waitress for 10 minutes. We finally got our drink orders and she disappeared for another 10 minutes then quickly dropped our drinks off and immediately ran back before we could put an order in and disappeared for 25 minutes. I was extremely confused because the restaurant was not busy at all. After 25 minutes of waiting my mother finally managed to make eye contact and wave towards another server who came our way sighing and leaned over and practically laid on our table to start taking our order. It was a very uncomfortable invasion of space. I said hello and was ignored then asked our waiter how he was doing and was finally met with a "tired, what do you want?" At this point I was truly caught off guard because we had been nothing but patient and pleasant. Still maintaining my pleasant attitude, I asked about the soup of the day and our waiter immediately got up from laying on our table and walked away mumbling "gotta check." It's safe to say we were both over it at that point and had no interest spending any more time there. In all honesty, the carelessness of the waitstaff with customers made me realize that that same level of carelessness is most likely brought to the food and cleanliness of the restaurant. I was annoyed and grossed out and needed to get out of there ASAP. Our waiter came back as we were getting up and I let him know we would be leaving (still being extremely pleasant and polite) and he responded with a shrug and a "ok sorry." I'm just honestly taken aback by the lack of attentiveness, professionalism and basic kindness. Pancakes were delicious but the bacon wasn't freshly-made, so it was tough and chewy. Talk about being open for 24 hrs. It's a JOKE! We went to ihop on Miller in Flint, MI. It was around 1am. There were 6 of us. Excited about eating pancakes after playing games with our friends. As soon as we went in the restaurant the lady at the counter told us she couldn't sit all 6 of us. There were only a handful of customers. So we were very surprised. She continued to say that if she sit us down it will take 45 minutes for our food. We literally were told to turn around and leave. She continued to say that they only have 1 cook and 1 server. That's a big BS! No apology at all. And turned away from us. The rudeness among their staff is unbelievable. It didn't matter what the time of the day is or night. Why stay open if you guys can't deliver services. WHY stay open 24 hrs if you can't hire people to work at your facility. NOT GOING THERE AGAIN. IHOP SUCKS! read more
