After reading about the I-Hop in Flint on Miller Road with it's mostly Lack Luster reviews and today being Free Short Stack of Pancakes I decided to take a chance and drove over. Plenty of parking, parking lot was fairly clean considering the lot is shared maybe not legally with a long term old Motel/Inn just off and to the side of it. When I entered, I was greeted within a minute by a lady who seated me right next to the server's station and access to the restrooms. There were approximately 6 servers and although they did seem to be talking to each other from my location I could hear it was not friendly chatter but about work related items. When I look around the restaurant, I could tell which tables belonged to which server as she would orbit the floor passing by each of their assigned tables that were occupied. NO ONE had to WAIT to be seated or to be Greeted by their server. I ordered Decaf Coffee which was brewed fresh I was informed by Chloe my server who also explained the Free Short Stack of pancakes and IF you wanted to you could donate to a "Feed The Hungry Charity" where $1 donated would provide 10 meals. (Figure that Out) I received a small pot of Decaf piping hot and good taste. My pancakes were barely warm when they were brought out to me which my server had replaced with HOT Pancakes with the traditional small glob of butter on top of them melting quickly. I also ordered a $6 Ham & Cheese Omelet which was well prepared with I would guess 2 eggs instead of 3 and also included 2 pancakes as well. I finished my food paid my bill and decided to use the restroom which seemed to be a point of complaint on more than several reviews. Toilet area was clean as was the sinks and urinal area. Paper towel in waste can was brimming over which due to the traffic I saw go in there while I ate I could understand. There was a duty list at the entry door and within a few minutes of my visit, a staffer went in and because I am curious if the checklist is just for show, I walked back in and the waste basket was EMPTY. Overall, I would rate this IHOP as a place I will return to and perhaps have Chloe as my server again. Very Polite and Courteous to ALL of her customers. I have been in Texas Roadhouse and Outbacks that have had more issues than this IHOP. But you can't please everyone and EVERY Establishment has bad days where staff call off or one cook calls off on a day where there are just 2 cooks for the whole morning. Overall, I would give this IHOP the Whole 5 Stars! read more

This particular IHOP is fine, as far as food and service.. in the beginning, service was very slow, but it's improved at this point.. it's pretty middle of the road as far the competition is as a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot around this area.. We had lunch here the other day- the service was friendly and prompt, the restaurant was very clean and the dishes were pretty good.. my husband had a California melt w fries and I had an impossible (veggie) burger and fries.. both sandwiches were filling and tasted pretty good..our waitress was super nice and friendly.. she checked in our table multiple times.. All in all, they're fine for lunch/brunch and I think they've improved a little since this location opened.. we'll be back. read more

Stopped here for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. There was plenty of parking outside. Inside there was plenty of booths . After being seated we ordered our meals. People that came in about five minutes after us got service before we did. Food took forever and when it finally got here everything was cold. I specified to make my food crunchy especially the bacon...and you guessed it, came out flaccid. She brought me new bacon and it was worse than the first. We try to stay close to our tax place while they finish up our return, so we can pick it up again before driving the 30 minutes or so home. This year our preparer mentioned a new IHOP at the next exit. While the ramp from Bristol Rd to I-75 north was a little goofy and had crappy signs, we found our way to Miller Rd without too much trouble. The menu confused our six-year-old a bit, but he's six. I ordered him what I knew he really wanted, and while he did really enjoy it, he also scolded me later to not change his order again. I apologized. The choice of syrups at the table was fun, but I think all three in my party chose the old-fashioned. I actually ordered something without pancakes. I was surprised that the jelly for toast wasn't on the table, but the waitress bought out it promptly on request. We'll have to remember this place for next year at tax time :) read more

Didn't even have a chance to sit down. Customer service was terrible. We were there this morning and when we went in it was not busy s lot of tables were empty. We were told 5 minute wait. Well after 10 minutes we were still waiting couldn't understand why. My husband approached the waiter said we were told 5 minutes the waiter took us back put the menus on the table and left. Morning service is usually pretty good, but they kept screwing up my order the last couple of times I went. Saturday night, however, was arguably the worst experience I had at IHOP ever. One server, took 20+ minutes to get my food, which didn't have the strawberry syrup poured on it like it was supposed to, and the server forgot my silverware. The food is usually pretty good, but some of the times I've been here took a very time to get it. The last time I was here I waited 45 minutes to get food, only to have the server come out and tell me they were OUT of what I'd ordered. I said "thanks anyway" and quickly left. Other times I've come, like today, we waited 15 minutes to be seated, and the place is almost empty. Waiters and a manager walked right by us, multiple times, and say nothing. I had to walk up to two servers and ask them if someone could please seat us. They acted extremely annoyed and said someone would be with me soon. After me, a couple of other customers walked up to that server and said, "I haven't seen my waitress in a half hour! Can we please get our bill?" It took 15 minutes for someone to come seat us. I don't know what is wrong with this place. I've been to many other IHOP's with no problems whatsoever. This flint IHOP is managed horribly. Don't know why some people have such bad things to say about this IHOP, but based on my experience, this is one of the better breakfast/brunch spots in Flint. I had chicken and waffles here. They were the best chicken and waffles I've had. If I had any complaints, it was that I was done eating them too soon and the portion could have been a bit larger- just kidding. My wife ordered the crepes, which I tried, too. She hates it when I steal bites off her plate, but she knows I'm going to do it, anyway. Haha. Her crepes were excellent, super savory and not horribly sweet like some are. Service was excellent, too. Our server was very friendly and we didn't have to wait at all. We were seated right away by a nice lady who chatted with us as she showed us to a table. The service we've experienced here was never anything less than courteous and quick. He always comes to each table to check on customers and helps his staff with refills, taking orders, delivering food etc. My family and I visit this location frequently. When this location was temporarily closed we traveled to a different location about 45 minutes away and to our surprise he was there as well. He always remembers us and our orders and takes the time to make your breakfast experience welcoming and memorable. Great food, great staff thank you for all you do. read more

40 minute wait for food that was served cold. My fiance ordered a melt and was served an omelette. The server knew it was incorrect and tried to serve it anyways. She argued about correcting the order until we asked for a manager. Manager promised to take the melt off of the bill. He also took my omelette to have it made it again. We got the melt but never got a new omelette. The melt was made with lunch meat and the wrong cheese. Then the bill arrives and there is no discount, and melt and omelette are still on the bill too. DO NOT EAT AT IHOP. My two year old had ice cream here for his second birthday (today) and a piece of GLASS was in his ice cream that had to be fished out of his mouth. The manager was rude and uncaring, she even threw away the shard of glass when j for it back. Apparently a glass broke near the ice cream machine and they didn't bother to clean it out. I was totally embarrassed by the food and service at IHOP today...My son and family had come into town and the last time I had IHOP was back in the summer when my brother came into town...the food and service was awesome... today there was 13 of us that was seated in the restaurant in the back room...It was cold and we did ask if they could cut the air down or turn on some heat which never happened...when we finally started to receive our food most of the food was cold... which started a chain of sending food back... first off why was we receiving cold food when we was the only group in the restaurant it was totally empty... everyone was looking at me and asking me what's up with this restaurant... again I was embarrassed...the steak that was ordered came out cold and grey...sent back...my brother got an omelette that was covered in unmelted cheese and yes it was cold...I ordered the steak omelette also and asked for extra cheese and mushrooms got neither...the steak was full of fat it also was grey and tough and tasteless... yucky... multiple people ordered the specialty pancakes they was cold small gummy pancakes...yuck... again I could see if the restaurant was packed we was the only group there...to make a long story short... after we left there we made plans to go to another restaurant because nobody was full or happy with the dining experience... This place needs Divine Intervention as it was one of the worst dining experiences ever. The restaurant is new and really nice. The manager on duty on 12/9/17 @ 9pm was horrible. It must have sat a while on the counter waiting to be served, because it was mostly warm. My mom ordered a side salad which was served in a huge bowl with a very thick (really...like cups) layer of shredded cheese on top. Probably the cheese was trying to mask the black-edged lettuce. The Omelettes were good and bigger than I expected. They came with pancakes that were, as usual with IHOP, huge! The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were clean but the service was slow. They seated us and it was quite a while before we had anyone come to get our drink order. So long in fact that we were ready to order when she got there. Went there on July 4th. Beautiful IHOP. Best looking IHOP I've been too. However the service stunk. It was short staffed. We had to wait 15 minutes even though the seating area was 1/2 full. Then we had to wait 15 minutes before a waiter came by with coffee and water. Another 15 before the order was taken. Of course then 20 minutes before the order came out piece meal.
