Whether we're tappin it back to Ariana Grande or pushin through to Tank and tge Bangas, I firmly know that I can do (damn near) anything for 15 seconds and I've always got at least one more tap of resistance left in me. Our instructor Audra was AMAZING!! The ride was challenging but still so much fun and energizing! Thanks to Audra. Attending a Sunday afternoon class was different from my normal workout schedule. I do NOT workout on Sundays. I'm glad I decided to join in with some of my workout buddies. Like I mentioned, the ride was challenging but I do feel like the 45 mins went by pretty fast. I don't know if others would agree! It was really easy for us to book a class via their website. All of that was fast and easy. Checking in was also easy with the friendly, smiling staff. If you don't own spin shoes /cleats, they offer those as well. It comes with your session. This is a top tier spin studio with excellent equipment with an inviting space. I finally got to try a class through a free ride sponsored by Bham Now and it totally lives up to the hype. I have never taken a spin class before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I like that the lights are kept pretty low and beats are high energy and loud, so no one can see or hear you as you're pushing through the pain. If you're a first timer, it might be a little hard to follow. The instructor will kind of say what's going on before you go into the motion, but it can be hard to hear or do on your first time. I think it's gotten easier with each ride and I usually just watch one of the other people who seems to know what they're doing and follow them. I also really like that there is a dedicated arm section. It's nonstop for 15 min. I think and you are working your arms the whole time. I'm really glad I gave it a shot. I definitely see what the hype is all about and I feel that even though it can be kind of intimidating because everyone seems to know what's going, they're very inclusive. I have really enjoyed coming to Ignite! I typically only do well with structured workouts and this is my fave! All of the instructors are very energetic and encouraging. The people that attend the classes are from all fitness levels which makes the class less intimidating. It is very high tech with lights that coordinate with the dance moves and movements! The instructor had so much energy and made the class so fun!!!! Riding to the beat is difficult- so prepare yourself for those fast tempos! But overall it's an enjoyable way to burn calories. I love Ignite! The vibe reminds me of Soul Cycle and I love that I can come in, sweat, dance (literally) on my bike, and not be pressured to crunch numbers throughout my class. Ignite is my go-to for when I just do not feel like working out. I can go in after a night shift at the hospital feeling exhausted and walk out feeling refreshed! I love that the tone that the owner, Tiffany, has set is to "love yourself, your journey, and your body" no matter what. I have been going to Ignite since they started holding pop-up rides in December 2018. I consider the whole crew family, and they treat me the as such. Above and beyond. Positive. Dependable. Responsible. Helped me learn to love ME after having previous unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. It isn't a work out, but rather a therapy session or dance party, depending on the day. Someone asked me if I would buy a Peloton in quarantine, and I said absolutely not because I wanted to support Ignite in anyway I could...Everyone is welcome, accepted, and celebrated for the unique traits they bring to the space. 45 minutes to check in with yourself and do hard things. Right now they are operating in an open air space to accommodate COVID-19 precautions and concerns of riders. From your 1st to 300th ride, they will have your back. If you're looking for a different way to get healthy, lose weight and improve your cardio you have to try Ignite Cycle. All I can say is WOW! You walk in and instantly you're greeted by an enthusiastic member of the team. My class had Tiffany. During the class you have to have special cycling shoes that lock you into the bike. You're also adjusted to the bike for the perfect fit for your body. Once that's done and everyone is adjusted then the fun begins! The lights go down and the lights begin flashing in the room with the music turned up with songs that make you want to turn up and move. Tiffany the instructor slowly warmed us up and then kicked it into high gear. The entire time during the class she motivated you with her infectious energy! The energy was so high in the room you couldn't do anything but try to keep up with everyone. In addition, the instructor kept a close eye on anyone who may have needed help and addressed it right away by dimming the lights to not bring a lot of attention to the issue and at the same time continued to motivate everyone. It was incredible! This is an outstanding way to kick up your fitness goals and at the same time have fun. You'll burn a lot of calories within a 30 minute class. I'd definitely recommend it for serious fitness seekers. read more
