I needed some exercise clothes and some clothes for a camp trip and figured I'd pop in here before heading to MEC down the street and honestly, I found everything I needed for a quarter of the price. Of course they don't have any specialty equipment, and some of it is luck, for sure, depending on what rolls through the door. Winners gets brand name and fairly high quality apparel and home decor but they it in get piles of random sizes and colours or lines that just didn't sell enough to escape the bargains. For athletic clothes it was great. I found lined, water-wicking pants good for winter camping or jogging in the cold, merino wool long johns that I may not take off till July, high wasted super comfy and thick leggings, and cuuuute sports tops. It's important to feel cute if you're going to be sweaty. I also found a bunch of stuff I considered buying for the house but decided to wait. Worth checking out for the prices though, especially if you;re already in the area to check out a movie or MEC or the Marche Central.

What I liked most about the dresses was not only their fit and fabric but I can just tell that they will be able to withstand the wear and tear that is inevitable for me when I spend all summer biking around Montreal. Centre Laval looks and feels like an old shopping mall that has undergone a few renovations in…read moreattempts to modernize. It's definitely less glamourous than Carrefour Laval and less busy. I liked that it had lots of independent stores and not just chains. That being said, most of the stores were not really my style (i.e. cheaply made clothes, costume jewelry, gift items, etc.), but it was still fun to walk around a mall I had never been to before, even though I walked away empty-handed. There was this one store called Vase Caravan and it was such an unusual little store. It had lots of Buddha statues and also lots of Jesus statues for sale! They also sold instant noodles. It was a really weird and random kind of store. I secretly like weird though, lol. The anchor stores are The Bay, The Brick, Bureau en Gros (aka Staples), Best Buy and Ares. The food court is pretty small, but there's a pretty fish aquarium at the centre. There's also a Chinese buffet (Buffet Fu Lam) in the mall. This mall has free WiFi and you don't have to log on through Facebook or Twitter or give them your email address (like some places). Definitely not a destination shopping mall, but not too bad.
