FINAL EDIT 7/20/18: I went to the shop again this week after being informed that the new screens were in. David installed the third screen quickly and efficiently, and even installed a screen protector for me as well. The initial problems with dead zones on the first screen and the manufacturer defect on the second were annoying, but overall I was pleased with the way my problems were handled. EDIT 6/13/18: After posting my review here, on Facebook and on Google, I was contacted by someone with ifixx who explained that they received a bad batch of screens from the manufacturer. They've promised to contact me when the replacement shipment comes in and replace my screen for free. Will update the review again when that happens. ORIGINAL REVIEW 6/13/18: I usually go to a different cell repair shop, but when I cracked my screen this week and ifixx was able to see me same-day, I decided to try it. Bit of a mixed bag overall. Cons: - The repair actually disabled a bit of my touch screen--there was a stripe about half an inch wide across my entire screen that simply wouldn't respond to my finger. - The replacement display is MUCH darker than my original, and the colors are less vibrant and pull more yellow. This is true of both replacement displays I've received from this establishment. I admit I'm not fully informed on how cell screens work, but I'm guessing that it's a low-quality replacement that doesn't perform as well as Apple's original in terms of color accuracy/brightness. Pros: - David, the owner, didn't hesitate to replace my screen a second time when I called about the sensitivity issue mentioned above. He saw me again, same-day. - Repairs were quick; in and out in about 15 minutes both times. - Price seems fair; about $120 before tax to replace the display on my iPhone 8+ Overall, I'd say I'm satisfied in terms of customer service, but I'll be sticking to my regular repair shop the next time I need a new display. DO NOT GO HERE! GO TO CPR ON HUDSON! I went to David at iFixx about 20 days ago, to fix my iPhone 5 screen. It has been a terrible experience from the get go. He said it would be done in an hour. I come back 2 hours later - not done. Finally he says its finished, but the screen does not work at all... he insists "it has to be restored" which I specifically asked if it would before hand, and he said No, which was him blatantly lying to my face. So I go home to Restore the phone - it does not work. So now I have to make a 3rd trip back to his store (which is not close to me by any means, but I wanted to support an independent business rather than pay Apple a huge corporation)..... I get back to his store, instead of immediately handling me as I was there first and should've been his 1st priority being that he LIED and DIDNT fix my phone that I paid him to.... So I sit there for about 45min, as he is messing with my phone, he begins to update the OS firmware, another thing I STRONGLY STRONGLY emphasized I did NOT want him to do. I have to wait an additional 30min for him to reverse that damage. When he was done he just said "Here ya go" and didn't bother to actually test the camera, speakers, or anything to ensure they worked. So about 7 days later, I start to notice the top corner of the screen is not secured, and is coming off. Then I notice he also did not tighten the Screws at the bottom, and soon my phone would not charge unless I pressed the screen back into place from where it had loosened. So now the screen is loosening by the day. I was out of town, and decided I'd wait to have David redeem himself. So I get back in to town, and pull my phone out of my pocket and it is completely broken. The screen is cracked from flexing, in 1 crack along the bottom where the slider would go. Now mind you, I have broken MANY iPhones in my day. ANYONE that has, can tell you that if just a small crack, you can deal with it and the screen will still be functional. Not this time tho, because David used a very cheap replacement glass (you can buy the same glass and kit for $50 online). So I contact David through FaceBook - he completely ignores me. I call him out for ignoring me explaining that it is highly unprofessional to produce low quality work and on top of that disrespect your customer by ignoring them. After a range of excuses, and very poor attempts at lying, David explains that he will not help me because "He didn't appreciate how I was coming at him".... if you look at his YELP or other reviews, you will see ALL of this is a common occurrence. He is a somewhat friendly guy, but a VERY poor business men. Liar, Rude, does NOT stand behind his work or final products. I was VERY happy to go spend my money elsewhere today, and even tipped the guys at CPR $20 for a job well done as I let them know the story of what brought me to them. I strongly recommend you avoid David and iFixx, and take your phone to a professional interested in providing a quality service - not some jerk who's interested in making money anyway he can even if that means lying. UPDATE - After fixing my phone, the people at CPR made sure to let me know that the reason my battery had been acting funny, was because David has actually stolen the cover, swell as other screws, which is why the screen was coming off. I could not have had more of an exceptional experience at iFixx! I broke my iPhone 4 screen and started searching everywhere I could find to get it fixed, looking for the right price and somewhere that wasn't going to take too long. After looking at literally everywhere that came up on the search I found this place whose had the cheapest prices out of every other place. It only cost me 75 bucks and every other store wasn't even close. All the others ranged from 90 to 200 dollars. So that was a no brainier. When I was calling around everywhere said it would take 45 minutes to 2 hours of I didn't have to make an appointment. Dave at iFixx had it done in no more that 15 minutes max and he was nice enough to stay and wait for me. On top of the awesome time and price the customer service was outstanding. Dave could not have been nicer or more friendly. I actually had a good time just hanging out there! It didn't hurt that he had video games that I could play while I was waiting and a ton of awesome accessories to check out. If I ever have electronic problems again I will be going here no questions asked! It was an awesome experience when I wasn't expecting one! read more

Wow- what a weird afternoon. Let me tell you about my first and second experience at this business- Ifixx. So where to start? Last spring I cracked my iphone screen and out of convenience (close proximity to home + supporting small business) I decided to take my iPhone 5s to Ifixx to have David fix it. David charged me around $150 to fix the screen (at the time I was fine with the price) after David installed the screen I noticed what appeared to be white spots on the phone (not a big concern to me, personally but you think a professional iphone screen installer would be knit picky about this) along with this issue. About 2 months after the install, the screen appeared to be all scratchy (like a television with a antenna not working) in addition the screen did not even sit flush with the phone (loose, best way to describe). After problem 2 and 3 (scratchy screen and loose scree, not sitting flush) I decided to go and see David and see if he could fix his installation issue (I mean come on the screen just does not come loose out of the phone?) so I made an appointment to go see David 2PM on a Saturday (sat around for an hour before he even looked at my phone). David's excuse was that I must of dropped itr? What a bunch of BS- not one dent on the phone, phone has been taken care of (I HAVE A MASSIVE RUBBER CASE ON THE PHONE). Basically he said he could fix HIS ERROR but there would be a charge. At the time I politely declined. Here is where David, Ifixx gets real unprofessional. I posted a negative review on Facebook/Yelp and he contacted me? Accusing me of slander? WTF. David- I am allowed to give you whatever review I want- I paid you $150 and you did a JOKE of a job on my phone. This is how I rate your services. I then gave him an opportunity to fix his mistake. (always like to give people second chances) I agreed to take the review down based on him fixing his installation issues. So just today, I went in for the second time. He did replace the screen, but it still is not fixed correctly, LOL- this is just humorous now!! Currently the screen appears to have dark spots and white spots. Basically best way to describe is that the phone brightness is turned way down- appears DARK (right top side of the phone), then on the left side of the phone-REAL BRIGHT. Along with the SCREEN not even sitting flush with the phone!!! This is where the encounter gets real weird, after he fixed the phone he got into a verbal altercation with me accusing me of SLANDER (based on my original review) and states that I must write a positive review before I walk out of his business (elevated monotone voice) so that his attorney can review it?? like what, are you serious?? I decided enough of this unprofessional business, so I walked out of his business- DAVID- I will be contacting the better business buerau Also YELP community- I am going to upload two pictures of his repairs so you can see first hand of the BS job he did (PAYING CUSTOMER). The first pic displays the following issues 1. Scratchy screen- look close you can see horizontal lines (scratchy) on the phone 2. Below the S on Saturday you can see the white spots I mentioned earlier in the review 3. Screen is not sitting flush with phone?? Come on man- this is a given that you installed the screen incorrectly. 2nd picture- this is when he attempted to fix his mistake, 1. Right side of phone is dark, left side of the phone is really bright 3rd pic 1. Screen does not sit flush with the phone Conclusion- Not only did he do a awful job installing the screen, but he also got into a verbal argument with me demanding i write a positive review "You must write a positive review before you leave the business"- UMM David---That is harassment and is ILLEGAL, you threatened me...--- I will be contacting the better business bureau and giving them these pictures of my phone. When I walked into ifixx I sort of laughed to myself because it felt a little sketchy, but when I called around to a bunch of iPhone repair places ifixx was cheaper by like $20. I handed my severely cracked iPhone 5S and it was handed back to me looking absolutely perfect. It cost $115 and I paid cash and he gave me change from his own wallet. It was awesome. Haha. Seriously. Do not go here. Heed the words of the other negative reviewers. I took my iPhone 5s there to have a cracked screen replaced. I live in Westerville but chose to drive down to campus for the repair based on a Groupon. The phone was fixed (so I thought) quickly and the gentlemen working there at the time was very friendly. A couple of days later I VERY GENTLY dropped my phone, on carpet with a quality case on it from a distance of maybe 18". The screen cracked and scrambled completely. I have had this phone for well over a year and have dropped it hundreds of times, and only once did the screen crack and that was when I basically threw it face down onto ceramic tile. This leads me to believe that I was sold a faulty screen, or at least given a shoddy repair. I called them up and inquired about a warranty. I was given a flat "NO". But they did offer to do the repair again for $69, which was $10 less than I had paid originally. I should have just taken the phone somewhere else. But, having neglected to ask about a warranty the first time, and not having a lot of other option, I just figured I'd bite the bullet on this one. At 2pm I drove to campus yet again, paid to park, and when I took my phone in, the gentlemen told me that it would be 2 hours for the repair. I had to work at 5 and didn't want to risk being late, so I left them a contact number and said that I may be back at 4, otherwise I would pick it up the following morning. The next day I drive to campus again, pay to park, and as soon as I enter the store, the guy behind the counter tells me, "Uh, we're still waiting for a part, we didn't have the right one, so it may be a couple more hours." I gave them an addition 22 hours to the time they quoted me to have the phone fixed and they still didn't have it done. On top of that they neglected to call me and make me aware of the delay! I had a conference call at 2:30 that I had to participate in, so I drive back to Westerville so that I can use my boyfriend's phone. The whole time I'm flabbergasted that a business who specializes in fixing broken iPhone screens, could possibly allow that part to run out of stock. BUT I am an understanding person, and I know that things happen. What I don't understand is why on Earth they did not contact me at the number I gave them. So, I politely express my concerns about this to the man working there. His reply to me was, "What? You want it for free? That's not going to happen." I explained to him that I was not looking for a free repair, but some sort of compensation, for A) Having to pay for a repair which I think was not done correctly or with a quality product in the first place. B) Having to drive down to campus multiple unnecessary times due to their lack of communication. The guy said he'd give me $5 off. Which I though was kind of insulting. I work in a customer service industry and while I don't believe in just handing out your product any time someone complains, I do believe that if you've somehow misstepped in your practice and failed to provide quality service or a quality product it is imperative to address the issue. So I emailed the owner last week, with a detailed explanation of my concerns. I have yet to receive a reply. I essentially paid twice for a repair that I shouldn't have and drove back and forth from Westerville to campus four times. Bottom line is that this place is bad news. Heres the bottom line: I brought my cracked iphone in to get fixed and you incorrectly installed the screen, I came back to your store at the first chance I had to get you to fix the problem and you said you would fix it. You gave me my iphone back and it still had the same issue, now maybe the screen had a defect and it wasn't your fault, but when I came back in to get the situation corrected you refused to believe that I had a legitimate issue. You demanded that I pay 30% more than I had paid initially just to get my iphone- which had never truly been fixed by you at any point- in working condition. When I told you that that wasn't going to work for me and that I would just like a refund instead you laughed in my face and told me I was full of shit and that I was trying to rip you off. All I wanted was a working iphone, that I paid you to deliver to me. Furthermore its a shame that your first instinct to to attack your customers who leave negative reviews on your yelp page. The first time i went to ifixx i was very impressed by the work that Dave does..Not only does he do the best job in columbus,has the cheapest prices and does the fixes in less than 30 minutes. He is very friendly is always concerned with his customers needs and goes the extra step to make sure that you are satisfied with his services before paying. THIS is the place to go for IPHONE repairs!!! I cracked the screen on my IPHONE 5. I called the APPLE store. After waiting 15 minutes on hold, I was told to go on line and schedule an appointment!! No THANK YOU. I called IFIXX. I spoke to DAVID. Very nice, helpful guy. This was on a Friday, and I noticed that they are closed on Sat and Sun. DAVID offered to meet me at the shop on SAT JUST TO FIX MY PHONE!! I told him I could wait until Mon. I went there on Mon as agreed. It only cost $99 (APPLE was a min of $150), and I was out the door in about 5 minutes. I could not have been happier. That is what I call impeccable customer service!! I dropped my phone and shattered the glass and brought it to Apple and it was going to be almost $200! I could buy a new phone for that much. There were some other places in Columbus but I found iFixx to have the best price. Best thing is Dave the repair guy was able to do it in 15 min! Please don't even look this way! My iPhone 5 was in great working condition, the only thing was the battery sucked. So i looked online for some shops and I found infix repairs. For some reason all i saw was good reviews and one bad one, but i figured people have bad experiences it happens. I went to take my phone, David told me $50, i paid him, then my was in "plug into iTunes mode". He said take it home, plug into iTunes and you'll be fine. So id did, and i didn't work. My OS would say" you need to update and restore" and i would choose the options and my phone would go right back to the plug in iTunes screen. So i look up remedies and i find its a common issue when batteries are replaced carelessly. I told David, he said that is not the issue. I drive back to his shop next day he is not there, drive up again, he does some weird process that makes my screen come on,, but my buttons no longer work. He tells me i need to take it to apple, and they will restore i. at this point it is becoming clear, something wrong has happened, but i wanted to keep giving him the benefit of the doubt cause he seems like a cool dude. i take it to Apple. They tell me the phone is no longer functional. I tell Dave, he says if he cannot fix it in a day he will go half with me on the apple store replacement fee ($269) which would be $130....needless to say when it got down to it he didn't follow through. Not to mention when I was waiting one day about 3 customers came in with similar stories, he ""fixed"" their phones and a month later they were broken. He does not take responsibility. he tried to give me a jank iPhone 4 replacement. in the end i told to give me $75, and to give me my phone back. He did, that is the only sort of good part.
