We ordered the corn soup. Corn soup from India is not like traditional American corn soup but one that has a tasty broth that is spiced with black pepper and fresh spring onions. My wife tried it for the 1st time here and loved it. I found it to be some of the best corn soup. We had the chicken biriyani. It was cooked well and was a great portion size. For people not familiar with Indian food, this is a good dish to start with. We also had the Andhra Chicken Curry. It was flavorful and tasty. We ordered both at a medium spice level. I thought that level is good, but you may want to start with something less spicy. The Gulab Jamun was the perfect dessert. So rich, spicy and just enough vinegar. We shared. Chicken curry, mixed chicken kabob, aloo gobi (cauliflower and potatoes with Indian spices medium heat) and paneer tikka masala (tomato gravy, cottage cheese curds). The downhill slide of this place seems to now be complete. My last visit I was handed a menu from the host stand and pointed in the direction of a table where I seated myself. My order came out moments after I had ordered it which tells me that it was prepared in advanced and merely warmed up. Okay I guess except the spice level was wayyyy off and much more bland than I ordered. The amount of rice they offer with an entree is criminal when you consider they charge for more rice. Refills were not on the menu for my visit and the overall vibe of the restaurant was that I was somehow inconveniencing them by stopping in for dinner at about 7:45 pm. Most times when saying indian restaurants first thing comes to mind is biryani. We wanted to try other times as the name of the restaurant is idli dosa. Idli (rice cake) and dosa (like pancake or crepe) are famous South Indian food items. Idli and dosa were good with sambhar (lentil soup) and chutney. A good sambhar only gives the feel of good idli or dosa. All dosas were good. Here it was. Chicken 65 even it is found in all restaurants, not everything is same. I felt this was a good as I had in India. Many restaurants make it wet with sauce. But the dry one is the one I like. Coming to chicken and goat items both were excellent. Andhra chicken fry and goat pepper fry were highlight. We ordered medium spice and it was as the right spice level. If you are new to Indian cuisine you can go with mild spice and you will like it. Kothu parotta is another item which you will not see in many restaurants. Parotta is layered flat bread. Kothu parotta is that flat bread cut into pieces and sautéed with spices and gravy. You can go with veg, egg or chicken options. It comes with raita. Hope it would be better if they provide Salna (gravy) as a compliment. read more
