South Orange Blossom Trail / OBT

I had just finished a class in Osceola County and it felt like my engine just "dropped". Still…read moredrivable I just drove north on OBT because i knew I'd run into a legitimate name brand car repair place eventually. I found this one first, and glad that I did. They did a good comprehensive check in what was necessary. Unlike another place closer to home, of a different name, they didn't tell me I needed things just to try to up their cost ratios. They didn't tell me all of this without giving me an estimate price. They showed me the list of the things my car needed to be safe on the road again. Btw ... the lead man at the desk, said that another place is trying to head-hunt him to going there. Hopefully this place does what they need to to keep him there. He doesn't just tend to the customer ... he knows cars himself, so when a mechanic says a car needs this or that, he'll look himself to be sure the car REALLY needs this or that. They are also very willing to give or show you the old part that needs replacing, and why it needs to be replaced. This is an older car, but since I've had it, 4 years now, it never needed any major repairs, until this one. It's a good car and I was thinking about selling it, but with this great repair service, and the warranties that come along with it, I think it is safe to keep it. So happy with the way these guys got me in on a busy Sunday, took the time to get the work done right, and give honest answers and estimates. I live way in the other side of town, but thinking it's worth the drive to here if I find that I need something more than the basic oil change, tune-ups, and the sort. It's worth the drive for good service!

TLDR: avoid. This…read moreplace has bad karma. On my last visit I saw a heated customer with the police trying to make sense of a dispute between them and the tire store. He didn't get arrested but it was a bad scene. In my visit, they had me replace a tire that I felt was repairable. I asked to see the tire and they refused. There's enough damning reviews here about this place. Please take these warnings seriously.

Anything you can imagine it might be was checked and replaced and still that damn light came on! ‍ I wish I had come to these guys first! Louie was determined to figure it out and he sure did! After checking everything it might possibly be, he pulled the radiator and found all this white debris. Neither of us knew what it was but it was obviously the problem. Thank you Corey (service advisor) and Louie (mechanic)! I felt the weight of the world leave my shoulders when I left. No more temperature light! I'm coming back for sure.

While I was there, I was told that both the left and right LED license plate light assemblies needed to be replaced. I was given a written estimate for $769.55 -- $279.98 for the parts, $402.60 for labor, $40 in shop supplies, and $46.97 in tax. I did NOT authorize the repair because I wanted another opinion. I had someone else inspect my vehicle, and he discovered that the existing license plate light assemblies were unplugged. He reconnected them, and the lights immediately came back on and worked. No replacement of either assembly was necessary to get the lights working. On August 3, 2026, I returned to the Kirkman Road location with the person who found the issue. I spoke with Service Advisor Michelle, who told me that the person who initially inspected my vehicle was technician Brian, not the master mechanic. I asked the manager how I could have been given a $769.55 estimate to replace both assemblies when the existing assemblies worked once they were reconnected. Instead of explaining how the original diagnosis was reached, the conversation focused on why someone would have unplugged the assemblies. I don't know who unplugged them, and I'm not claiming that I do. My concern is the diagnosis. I came in for an oil change and was presented with a nearly $770 repair recommendation. Had I not gotten a second opinion, I could have paid for two replacement assemblies that were apparently functioning properly. I also asked the manager for the district manager's contact information and for a corporate customer-service number. I was told that the only number available was the store's phone number. I have since contacted Tires Plus customer service to formally report the incident and request that the original diagnosis be investigated. My advice to other customers: If you're given an expensive repair recommendation at this location, get a second opinion before authorizing the work. I am leaving this review because customers deserve to know exactly what happened to me. I hope Tires Plus investigates how this diagnosis was made and provides an explanation. 1 STAR -- I came in for an oil change and was quoted $769.55 for a repair that apparently wasn't needed I brought my 2011 Lexus ES 350 to the Tires Plus at 4801 Kirkman Road, Orlando, FL, on July 31, 2026, for an oil change.
