More like a 2.5 today. It's sad because I really liked shopping here…read more I don't know what happened to the store. They used to have beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, a nice freezer section. I even bought a tomato tree here once. I don't come often since it's not close, but every once in a while when I'm going to Costco, I'll just drive down a little bit further and stop in and pick up some things. I was so disappointed today. They've gotten rid of 99% of freezer section and they have the old cases for sale, so that's the end of that. Today they had long tables of garbage thrown on top and I'm not quite sure what it was, but people were digging through like it was some flea market garage sale. The entire store has changed and in my opinion not for the better. I was able to pick up a couple of avocados at 3 for a $1, a bag of potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, some tomatoes, and that's about it. I did notice that they had a table full of hot pickle tomatoes that expired 9/20/2025 so that did it for me. I don't understand why you would put out food no matter what price it is, after the expiration date. The other thing that bothered me was the 4% fee for credit card. I know as a fact, if you have the right credit card processing you pay 1.9%. They also had a tip jar at the check out...for what... so the salaried employee can slide your purchases across a scanner and you can put the items in the bags you bring. No one packs your bags here and they don't even have plastic or paper bags. With all the fees, the prices aren't any less than TJs or Aldi. I know now, I don't ever have to drive down here again.

99 Cent Farmer's Market - Pompano…read more What an unexpected gem! The 99 Cent Farmer's Market in Pompano blew me away with its gorgeous fruit selection, super fresh herbs, and all kinds of miscellaneous goodies -- all at unbelievably low prices. Everything was vibrant, fresh, and far higher quality than you'd ever expect for 99 cents. They even have great snack boxes that are perfect for on-the-go. And as a sweet surprise, we were given a free pumpkin on our way out! The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was warm and friendly, and I have to give a special shout-out to Angelina, our wonderfully helpful cashier, and Anissa -- The Juice Spot Queen -- who absolutely lives up to the title. If you haven't checked out this place yet, you're missing out. Highly recommended! PS Don't forget to bring your own shopping bags!

I had been to other Presidente Supermarkets in the area, but this was my first time at this one in…read morePompano. As soon as you walk in, you see the cafeteria section to the right...having lots of Latin Food options. Empanadas, Puerco, rice, veggies, etc. The selection was really good but I did not buy anything from the cafeteria. Their produce section comes right after with some items very well priced like chayote squash about 50 cents each...to others not being that good of a deal. Like most places, you need to know your prices and unit cost to determine if you are getting a good deal or not. Lots of Latin American brands to choose from.

I have noticed that they have been taking over former Winn Dixie's which is the case in this Pompano Beach location. They serve what you would typically expect to find in a grocery store with an emphasis on Latin items. There is a cafeteria serving prepared foods, bakery, deli, meat, seafood, frozen items, fresh fruit and vegetables, pantry staples, and household essentials. This store has been completely remodeled inside and everything is bright, clean, fresh, and new. Staff is all over the store waiting to assist. They have a lot of sales to coincide with the grand opening. I spotted several products that were unfamiliar to me but I am excited to try. I always head to Presidente when I need Latin items that can't be found in Publix. Last week it was cotija cheese for street tacos and Mexican street corn. This new store is much nicer than the Presidente in Margate. It will be worth the few extra minutes drive to come here. It is nice to see a formerly abandoned space revitalized and contributing to the community.

Confession time. I haven't been to the Living Green Café in several years. My friends have kept…read moreurging me to eat something from there, so when the opportunity came up to pop in and grab breakfast, I took it. The last time I was there, they still had a market, so I was quite surprised when I walked in and saw all the seating available and no more market. There are still nice tables outside as well. The café is in the middle of a transition I was told. They are adding a wine bar, a full kitchen to make hot breakfast, and additional seating. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly, and I ordered a lox bagel sandwich. I usually do not have lox with lettuce, but as it was premade, I still decided to give it a try. He toasted the bagel and packed it away in a most lovely container to go. The sandwich was delicious! I will never make a face seeing greens in my lox sandwich ever again. Both the lettuce and tomato were crisp, fresh, and packed with flavor. The smoked salmon was ample and very fresh. The bagel itself was also great. I will definitely be back, and I especially look forward to being able to order a hot breakfast when their full remodel is complete.

It feels comfortable, relaxed, and has a lot more personality than the typical café. The staff was friendly, the place had a really good energy, and overall it just felt welcoming. We were just going to grab something to go and ended up staying for a while. Oh, and did I mention they have wine?
