Dakota did a fantastic job of rebuilding our fence that was knocked down by a tree during the hurricane last year. They are abusive as they take advantage of people during catastrophic situations. They cut down ONE tree that fell in a house due to hurricane Helene and charged over $19000. They only cut down the tree, didn't even haul it away nor removed the trunk since it was on neighbor's side. They called it an emergency service but didn't show up a week later plus the home was already destroyed. They are being reported to the attorney general and consumer's affairs for price gouging. My father had a house fire, and IDC was recommended by USAA for clean-out, box-up of the household items before restoration could begin. Thankfully, we didn't use them for restoration. However, about half of what they got their hands on was not returned to the house. Anything silver was gone. Expensive camera equipment was gone. They threw out an antique carved wooden bed. When I reached out to them, they insisted that we took our silver and camera items, but we did not. They sent me photos of houses and items that didn't belong to us. They would not file for replacements on their insurance policy, rather we had to go back to USAA. Do yourself a favor and find another firm to work in your house. read more

Started on 11/8/2021 I have no words for the absolutely horrendous job this company did in my house. It has been over a year since they were here to inspect the shoddy workmanship they left behind.  They promised someone would be out to correct the issues and 1 year later we are still waiting.  We just heard back from them because they want us to sign the insurance check. I said no way and they promised to get back in touch with me on Nov.1, 2021.  7 days later no call.  I am going to recommend to our insurance company they do not use this company anymore. read more

I echo the other reviews: takes forever, they're rude, unresponsive, etc. If your insurance company deals with them, say no & get your own contractor! They acted like my project was rocket science & didn't do anything for 2 months, other than make me live in a torn up house. Cancel the contract with them & not looking back. read more

Don't even think about using this business! The stress I've dealt with is not worth it, the inferior materials and trying to get them to correct their wrong is way more than anyone should have deal with. I am embarrassed and disgusted with my flooring that is unreal. They placed flimsy cabinetry that is libel to fall from the hinges and drywall. Jeff A. (COO)has taken me out of character and good spirits one time too many with his disgusting disregard to customer satisfaction. He is very argumentative and has his mind set that he is not making anything right before he comes in your home. You will be taken for a ride! Do not allow them to put ANY FLOORING in your home unless you like falling and busting your butt on it. They ignore you and the warranty after the check clears!!! read more

I was referred to IDC by my insurance company after water damage in our basement. The adjuster came out and took measurements and told me he'd submit the repair estimate to my insurance company "within the next day or two." He also told me the work should start "within two weeks" of his visit and be completed "within about six weeks." Here we are TWO MONTHS later and all that's happened is two guys came out and removed my bathroom vanity and a half a dozen pieces of flooring, which took them exactly two hours (830 am- 1030am). So, I've gotten two hours of work out this company in my the last two months!!! ( Btw, I fired them two weeks ago and reported them to my insurance company, after which the GM called and apologized and asked for an opportunity to make it right. So, I gave them a set chance and that's probably the only reason I even got the TWO HOURS labor at all.) My advice...avoid these guys. There are others out there willing to work. read more

I wish I could give a zero star. This is the worst company you will ever want to deal with. They came to my house and tore down the floors and roof to secure the job. After tearing down the whole place, the told me they will come back and repair it. It's been 3 months and no one has shown up or even given us a cutesy call to explain why. They never pick or respond to text messages. All they do is inflate bills and don't do the job. Currently talking to my lawyers about possible actions to take against them. read more

I called USAA in October to report floor and wall damage from a hot water heater leak. USAA came out within a matter of days and said they would assign it to someone. It took 2 weeks before I heard from anyone with IDC. Then silence - no one called or showed up. I debated going with another company at that time but unfortunately, I was dealing with my father's illness and was more preoccupied with that than choosing another company. Despite several calls, I did not hear from IDC at all in November or December. My father unfortunately passed away in January and right around that time, IDC started calling trying to rush me to schedule the lead paint and asbestos inspection. I explained that I had lost my father and they said they would give me time. Their idea of giving me time was a week. Then Nicole started again and I was told that I needed to be out by the end of the upcoming week and in the hotel. No one said anything about what they were getting ready to do and what all it was going to entail. I came into my house a week later to find that my kitchen, dining room, and hallway ripped out (first 12 photos. When I saw what had been done thus far, I became concerned and asked how long they anticipated that this whole process would take and I was told that it was going to take at least a month possibly two. It is now mid April and The only thing that they've done differently than the photos is they have at least put up drywall - they haven't even painted. Absolutely no regard for the fact that I haven't even been able to properly mourn my father's passing and even less regard for the fact that I am living uncomfortably in a hotel instead of comfortably in my house. I've been in this hotel since January 29 and my house is still not livable. When I asked why they put the old kitchen cabinets that they took out that were damaged from old age they said we're gonna leave them there because we're going to put those back in. I told him I did not want the old cabinets back in the house so I went to Home Depot and picked out new cabinets which were to be delivered April 25th. I contacted Lydia several times about bathroom wall tiles and vinyl floor samples several times with no return phone call until after I contacted the insurance company to let them know that they were not returning my call. They clearly don't have a large selection because when I asked to see just a plain white sample of vinyl floors, I never got it. They then suggested that I go to Home Depot and pick out the vinyl floors and they would install them. Kyle, the estimator, then determined that they were not going to send anybody out to finish doing any work unless it could be done in ONE trip because they didn't want to have to pay for multiple trips to send someone out to do the floors and then another to do the kitchen and bathroom. LOSERS! Absolutely inept! You waste about not losing money but you don't mind wasting my time and destroying my house and leaving it this way? You couldn't get it right even after almost 4 months? You reek of incompetence. Now you tell me that you are no longer going to be able to finish the job and the excuse you used is because, and this is a quote from Kyle, "After reviewing this job with my management team this is the course we have decided to go. I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause, but we do not think we will be able to meet the expectations you have set so at this time we will be removing ourselves from the job." My only expectations were that you put my house back like you found it and you couldn't do it. You took the coward's approached and gave up. You either got in over your head and weren't capable of doing the work or you did not properly estimate the cost of the work needed. Either way, you FAILED miserably! You guys are clearly in over your head. Way over your head! Shame on you for leaving someone in this predicament. You've now cost me money - because my house is still exposed I now have a bad pest control issue. But then again, after dealing with IDC, I should be used to pests and nuisances. I wouldn't recommend them for a million dollars. read more

Incredibly frustrating experience. My insurance company called them back in 2015 following an issue involving my flooring. They sent out an adjuster and shortly after I got a check based on their assessment. Then nothing..I called a couple of months later and nothing. Their was a natural disaster so I didn't push it because I felt that my issues were not that pressing. I called and was promised a call back. We got nothing. It's now February 22nd 2017 and I have been told they have pulled out of Columbia and they are sorry but they can't help me. I asked, "if I lost because I was patient and did the right thing?" The gentleman in charge (I believe it was Tony) told me that ,"I was correct that is why". Needless to say I was a little stunned. I've never had a company ignore a client refuse to call back and then flat out say they weren't helping after talking to my insurance company. I wouldn't use them and you should not either. read more

Not the "ideal" company you want to handle your repairs. This company was hired through my insurance company. Wish I would have found my own restoration company to handle the repairs. In the beginning it seemed as if this would be a great working relationship, but during the course of me waiting, waiting, and more waiting it appeared that maybe this was not a good pairing. I kept getting the runaround about who was supposed to be handling which portion when I called. My many calls and requests for documentation for a price breakdown failed. Who agrees to pay for something before they see the details? Any takers, no I didnt think so. I had to send an official email over a month later in order to get the documents that I needed. Then they wanted to blame me, the customer, for them not doing their job. I didn't get sample of materials until a month later, the project manager failed to keep in contact with any bumps in the road he experienced. The only way I would find out anything is if I got tired of waiting and had to call for an update. Never doing business with this company again. Seems as if they bite of more than they can chew in taking on too many jobs or their workers are just lazy. read more
