Mr. Vycital came to my home in Jan 2025 for the first time, was unfortunately hired for my three…read morebathroom remodels and laundry room flooring (wasn't even able to completely finish one- the MB) in June 2025, which, after everything that happened, has been one of my greatest regrets. You'll notice his business only shows 5 star reviews, which is one of the reasons I chose him. He represented himself as a general contractor, but is not licensed as such, which Idaho law allows, only requiring a registration under an LLC, and represented his business as Custom BATH Solutions, but this is apparently a DBA under Custom HOME Solutions LLC. I did not find out until months later, much after the water damage caused by his subcontractor BUSS Mechanical occurred (which they paid for via subrogation), that his COI showed this other LLC name only, but the scope of contract I signed only showed CBS, not CHS. After the water damage incident, my last email with Mr. Vycital around Sept 2025, I had asked him to remove the plumbing charge of 1k for the MB vanity sink where the plumber installed a stop valve incorrectly causing the water damage, and a portion of the MB shower fixture plumbing charge be removed due to incorrect installation which the new plumber, post water damage, Expert Plumbing had to fix for them. Also, a portion of one large slab of quartz be removed due to wasteful use of it by his first slab subcontractor. He confirmed the total I was asking be removed and said he would speak with Buss Mechanical and get back to me. Instead, in Nov a day before Thanksgiving, I was served with a demand letter from his lawyer for the full amount I still owed, including late fees, unless I signed an agreement that included an NDA clause; then they would remove the amount I had asked be removed from the final bill. I had my lawyer ask them to remove the NDA clause and provide lien waivers, and I would pay them the FULL amount instead. I then submitted a consumer complaint on him to the AG's office and my first complaint to the DOPL. Mr. Vycital's lawyer then replied, saying if we didn't remove the consumer complaint, he would sue me. I later received a bullying call from his lawyer, Mr. Arkoosh, while I was displaced from my home for a week because the hardwood floors on the first floor, which were water damaged from this, were being restored, again threatening to sue me if I didn't sign their NDA agreement and remove the consumer complaint. I refused to do either, and have been in a legal battle with them since even until now, just because I won't agree to an NDA. The DOPL dismissed my first complaint and isn't even required by law to let me know what they did or why they dismissed it so quickly. The AG Consumer Complaint Office replied with, "We have closed your consumer complaint against CBS," including a reply letter CBS sent them negating everything without further inquiry. I then submitted a second complaint to the DOPL three weeks ago, which they said was allowed, but I have still not heard anything from them. I no longer trust either of these state offices which offer no transparency to consumers, and which just put on a front, from my experience with them. I am attaching a link below to my full review (2 posts) on NEXT DOOR with all the details as they happened, if you would like to read it and learn.*** When hiring a GC for any remodel, make sure the COI has all business names listed on it including the DBA, ask them to name you as an Additional Insured on it and get an updated ACCORD Certificate. PURCHASE A SURETY BOND! Be wary of promised completion time on the contract, mine stated 3 weeks for all 3 bathrooms & laundry room floor, and at 6 weeks they hadn't finished the one they started on! https://nextdoor.com/profile/01n94hyknMYyks9cX

We worked with Brandon to build our diving pool/spa/fire pit. Brandon is a great guy and knows how…read moreto build pools in Idaho. I am from Arizona and had a ton of questions for him since I am generally familiar with pools. He took the time to explain the differences of building a pool in Idaho, including why certain materials don't work in Idaho due to the climate difference. Because Brandon had worked with our builder previously, they put him on their schedule so the project could be completed before our home was finished. Every step of the way we worked with Brandon on adjustments and he was great at coming up with design suggestions both up front and along the way as needed. On one instance, we came to him asking about adding a return line for a water slide. This was right before they were going to fill in all the trenches, but he jumped on this change with zero push back and even adjusted the concrete footprint to accommodate the change. On another instance, Brandon let us know that the length of the pool was just a foot shorter (not his fault, the builder plans were just slightly off on the plot lines). This meant our Baja shelf steps needed to be adjusted from our original design to preserve the size of the Baja shelf we wanted. He immediately came up with an alternative design to the steps that looked great. Even post build, Brandon has been responsive on fixing any issues we noticed after the fact. I would 100% recommend Brandon to anyone looking to build a pool.

I hired him to do work on several of my projects and assisted him in designing several projects of his own. I liked his attitude so much I was very hopefull and wanted to help him get up and running here in Idaho. I even loaned him money when he needed a new family vehicle. Come to find out that all of the photos he showed me were built by other pool contractors that he simply worked for. I learned a valuable lesson as everything he touched was done wrong. Horribly wrong. I have since spoken with other people that hired Jake to work on their pools and it was one horror story after another. I cannot speak to his skills pouring flatwork or kitchen tile but Jake has no business building swimming pools and the last thing we need here in Idaho is another underqualified swimming pool contractor.
