Why even sent a placement email asking parents about their children grade level if the instructors aren't capable of accommodating different grade levels. I was clear about my 3rd grader can do 4th and 5th grade math. Instead of learning anything useful, they were teaching kids if you have 2 apples, how can John and Jane split it evenly... The worst part is the last minute move from indoor facilities to a small park down the street. When I went to pick up the kid, everyone is just running around playing on the playground structures, 2 college/high school students are just sitting there watching their phones. No adult was engaging with the kids. Parents didn't receive any advance notice about the move, nor offered refund options since they change the location. I really wouldn't care if the location is comparable, but the tiny park was unfit for math or STEM instruction. Math summer camp here is a false advertisement, they don't teach any math strategies. My child didn't learn anything useful nor is she more excited about math. We really looked forward to this and even thought about signing up for more classes in the falls but now we felt cheated and would not recommend this to anyone.

We is a young 1st grader, a middle child, and had been in a french school environment, so it was not a surprise for anyone. The teacher didn't think we needed to seek outside help just yet, but I decided to see how a session with Christine went anyways. We got into a routine and have been seeing her weekly for the past 6 months. My son LOVES Christine days!! And.. he is now beyond 1st grade reading level. She enjoys going (especially when she would run into friends who were attending the same time slot as her) and earning cards to purchase snacks and prizes. She has been going for about two years and we are happy with how she is doing in math so we signed up her younger sister (who has been going for about a year). Both our girls seem very confident in their math and we've referred many friends (who ended up signing up) to the Center. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, especially the Owner/Center Director, Revati. She is approachable, understanding and warm. You can tell that she wants to make math fun and approachable for the children. She also keeps parents informed on their child's progress by talking to you at pick up/drop off or letting you know that she's available to meet anytime if you need to speak with her regarding your child's progress. She also makes sure kids cross safely while walking in the crosswalk, to cross the street. I will continue to recommend Mathnasium to those looking for math assistance/practice for their child(ren).

What's worked for us is the structure: they binder system gives focused practice and a regimented program. We get progress updates so I know what she's working on and what she's proficient at. The staff is friendly and genuinely looking to help, and the student instructors are engaging. Scheduling has been easy to work around sports and school, and their rewards system gives her a little extra motivation, she hasn't complained about going yet.. Overall, we've seen consistent progress and growing confidence. We've been happy with the results and the experience here.

The first year here with Ms. Amy, Ms. Joanna, and Ms. Lesli was wonderful! Ms. Amy and Ms. Joanna are exceptionally talented with young children and effortlessly brought our child out of her shell. She was finally experiencing life outside the home and other children for the first time due to the pandemic. For this, Amy & Joanna alone are worthy of five or more stars. The reason for the low rating is the new administration that came in after our first year here. The new director, Ms. Claire, oozes disdain for her job and incompetence to lead, and that is reflected in the high staff turnover and low morale. My daughter's second year here, she went through more than three different staff changes and the lead teacher took an extended leave after only a month in. Another teacher admitted to me that she doesn't interact with my child much. My child was not developing or learning, and she lost interest in preschool until we changed preschools. Two years later in 2026, I was catching up with a current family there. Their daughter has come home twice with pants soaked in urine, despite there being a change of clothes on hand for her. They also were crammed into a classroom that already had other children when the sewer line backed up in their classroom. Her teachers change on a regular basis with the turnover. Even before we started at Holy Shepherd, it was evident that previous staff had been close-knit and worked as a team. Under Claire, they just show up to collect a paycheck. They are too overwhelmed and undersupported to care. Verdict: this place attracts working parents because of its flexible hours all weekday long. However, your child may fall through the cracks.

Being "transplants" without family nearby, we can attest to the care, compassion, and support that the teachers and families bring to the table. It is quite unique! My highly energetic son absolutely loves coming to school. It might be the huge yard that is accessible to the students for most of the day, the bikes, trucks, enormous sand pit, play structures and mud kitchens... or the rainbow room full of imaginative play costumes and accessories. As parents, we love how much he has been exposed to in just two years. The curriculum is play based and after reading up on this type of education and the science and statistics behind it... we decided we would give it a shot. I am so happy we did. Every day, there are tables dedicated to science, art, fine and gross motor skills and in the B session the kids learn how to read and write. In lieu of TK we decided to do another year of Pied Piper and we are confident he will be more than ready for kindergarten! Another thing that stood out to us about Pied Piper is the flexibility that their particular co-op model offers. Many co-ops are inflexible especially when it comes to maternity leave, or opting out of an expected committee. They have designed their co-op model for both working parents and stay at home parents. There is always an option and flexibility around your responsibilities, and all expectations are laid out ahead of time in their handbook. The teachers at Pied Piper are second to none. I am an educator myself and have worked with young children for over twenty years. Teacher Pia, Teacher Carrie and Teacher Mike absolutely love their job. They shine with the kids. They bring out the best in them and coach them (and the parents) through hard times. They are both compassionate and hold boundaries. They are consistent. My son has grown so much emotionally with them by his side. I've also learned so much as a parent co-oping in the classroom. Lastly we love how Pied Piper celebrates family traditions, and really knows how to make holidays and learning units special. Families are encouraged to share their unique backgrounds and traditions at circle time (Chinese New Year, Christmas, Chanukah,) and bring food and books to share with the class. Holidays are always over the top with decorations and celebration, and the teachers transform the school during learning units (space unit, teddy bear tea, post office). As transplants that came into the school only knowing their neighbors, we will leave the school with a wonderful group of friends and families that we have connected with. We love Pied Piper Preschool!
