Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Service

I have used Club Z for my last year of college for multiple subjects. I was needing help in…read moreCalculus 2, Statistics and World History, and I received 2 As and 1 B in those classes. In-Home consultation: I spoke with one of their Educational Consultants to go over my current situation and my expectations from the tutoring sessions. She was understanding, patient and matched me with tutors who are not only academically capable, but also fun and interesting to deal with. I love all my tutors! Calculus 2 tutoring: It's the most advanced math courses that I have ever taken in my life. However, I had the best experience in this class. The tutor, Daniel, was smart, organized and made things much, much easier than they appear. We always started our session with very simple problems, and he added more complicated problems one at a time. From my experience with this tutor, I learned that math can be easy if you understand the problems from the foundation. I received A+ in this class. Thank you! Statistics: Stephen was a funny guy; he created lots of activities for me during our sessions. We used coins, dices and cards for probabilities calculation. I learned a lot faster with these activities, and believe it or not, after taking this course with the tutor, I feel more confident going to casinos in Vegas. Lol... I received A in this class. Thank you! World History: English is my second language, so I had a hard time reading through the textbook, not to mention I have to retain all the information for the sake of HW and exams. Ashley always came with a summary sheet which included all the bullet points that we were going to go over in the session. She eliminated all the unnecessary information from text book and simplified them in just a few sentences for me. After I understood the main "stories", that's when she dug into more details with me, such as vocabularies that might appear on the exam that I would need to understand. My English improved tremendously after taking this course. I received B+ in this class, and I am super, super happy about it. Thank you! It was great working with all these awesome tutors and I would recommend Club Z to anyone I know!

My son attended Core academy for four years, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. By 6th grade, he was still reading at a 2nd-grade level, despite the school's promises to help him catch up. It wasn't until we hired an outside tutor that he finally began to make meaningful progress. He was also repeatedly bullied, and the school failed to take effective action. The bullying only stopped after we made the difficult decision to leave. Academically, he never learned basic skills like division, even after four years. There was a constant turnover of teachers new faces every few months and the leadership was ineffective. If my son said a bad word, he was forced to sit in the principal's office all day, doing absolutely nothing educational. There was a serious lack of supervision; he would often come home with bruises and clearly explain who was responsible, yet the school never followed up or addressed the situation. Since switching to Stern School in San Francisco, the difference has been night and day. He's thriving academically and emotionally. Next school year, he'll be attending JCHS with A+ grades across all his classes. This has shown us what a truly supportive and effective educational environment can look like.
