I am on the Board of my HOA. I have to say, when I first moved in to the building, the management company was awful. It took at least a month to get a response from a phone call/voicemail, the reserves were almost tapped out, communication was zero, and the property was not being taken care of. After I got on the Board, I suggested that we change companies. We chose ICON, and almost immediately things changed for the better. Alan came in and discovered misappropriated funds. Our reserves increased by 30% just from him organizing our finances. And his expertise is contracting! Repairs that needed to be addressed were, problems were discovered and rectified, and the overall look and feel of the property improved. When my wife was 9 months pregnant and 2 weeks away from giving birth, our ceiling started to leak in the nursery at 1 am one evening. I called the office emergency line to notify them. A plumber (United Plumbing, who are great by the way) was sent out and got here within 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Alan himself called my wife to make sure everything was ok. At 1:30 am! Within a few days the whole situation was resolved and the work was complete. To me, that is what a management company is all about. As far as some of the negative reviews I have read on this page, I can understand in relation to the dates that they were written. During the times between the end of 2014 and the beginning/middle of 2015, ICON went through some changes in staff. Unfortunately, one of the property managers left unannounced. Most people, including myself, didn't understand what that meant until being on a Board. That is like a mother telling her 13 year old, "I'll be around here and there, but you're on your own for the most part." These managers manage multiple properties across the city. When one leaves abruptly, the responsibility falls on other managers and the owner. All of which have many other responsibilities. To top it off, after finding and training another replacement, that person also left unannounced after only 1 month. This is not an excuse, but definitely a reason for why some things may have been overlooked during that time period. Since then, they have a new property manager for our territory and things are back on track. ICON has been in business for over 15 years. You need to look at the overall body of work. And they basically saved us from going broke and in disrepair. I can't say enough about Alan and his team. The weight of an individual or group should not be measured when they are down, but rather when they get up, dust themselves off and try to succeed again. She holds the highly esteemed CMCS and AMS designations proving she is very dedicated to her craft. Dena is extremely knowledgeable with Civil Code and the Davis Stirling Act. From the beginning, communication was seamless. She is very prompt in responding to inquiries and demonstrates a thorough understanding of property management. The property Dena manages is much larger than the average at 268 units and built in 1972 which requires a great deal of maintenance and navigating a variety of personalities. One notable aspect is Dena's proactive approach to addressing issues. If you hire ICON, please expect your building and investment to literally go down the drain. Not at first, but after a couple of years. In the beginning, they at least try. You will be left with giant hefty assessments and in fear of going into receivership. You will be belittled, disrespected, and threatened by the owner and other terrible employees. They are unprofessional and very rude. I will be sharing all the emails they've sent me publicly to expose them on RipoffReport and ScamOff. No one else should get hurt. You are better off managing your building yourself. Hiring ICON is like paying for abuse and dishonesty. They do not know the law as it pertains to the HOA industry. They made mistakes all the time. they withhold pertinent information from home owners. They do not release docs. They do not keep proper documentation. They do not know David Sterling's codes. How are they authorized to manage high-value buildings is beyond me. My experience with this company has been very disappointing and traumatizing. I've spoken to an attorney about a possible class action. Please let me know if you are interested. This company has no business "managing" buildings. BTW, most of the 5-star reviews are fake. There is a pattern in them you can find. This violated Federal Trade Commission laws. It's only a matter of time until they are caught and hit with a FTC suit. My experience with two of their staff: 1. Ms. Sidney Wei - I had questions regarding the online website glitches and was directed to Ms Sidney Wei. She was out of the office when I first tried to reach her but she did leave a contact for her backup. Once she retuned, she was very prompt, efficient, helpful and courteous in helping to resolve the issue at hand. The issue ensued for a few more days, and throughout the entire time of back and forth emails, she worked to help the issue reach a resolution. In addition, when other questions arose weeks later, she once again was super prompt, helpful and sweet! 2. Ms. Melanie Wood - I have found that the standard of professionalism coupled with understanding the need of the clients has been consistently exceptional with Ms. Melanie Wood. Over the past year, whenever I would have questions regarding our HOA, she helped me get answers to those questions speedily! Her vast knowlege and long-standing expertise are rounded out well by her kindness and courtesy. She always answers her phone. And on occasions when I would leave a message, she would return my call in no time. A rare gem of a business ethics nowadays. If I were to request documents, the email with those documents would arrive even before we finish the call. It's been very a reassuring experience to have her as our property manager. read more

The best service Ever!!! I am a single mom, renting a condo in Canoga Park. I work full time and take care if my 4 year old full time so I usually have to take a shower late at night. I'm the middle of my shower, at 11:00 pm my water shut off. I called and within 1 ring Carla answered. I told her my situation and she said she'd call me back. Within 6 minutes she called me back letting me know a plumber was on the way!!! Then, I don't know how to explain this, my water turned back on, I never turned the shower off when the water stopped running, so I was shocked when all of a sudden my shower started pouring water. I called her back to let her know the water was back on. I felt so confused and embarrassed, it was just so weird. Instead of Carla making me feel stupid of an inconvenience, she laughed and said "well that's a first, if you need anything else please give me a call" Feel safe with them!!! You are cared about and it doesn't matter if you pay a little or a lot, they treat you wonderfully, and they get things done! So grateful they were in charge of the property I live in! As a decades long owner-resident in a 50 unit complex(plus a Homeowners Board member from 1975-1995-through the Northridge Earthquake aftermath), I genuinely commend iConRealty Management a with 4-5 star Good-Great rating. They took over in the midst of the pandemic when our former management company dropped our complex. iCon Realty Service's Lisa A. immediately notified all owners via U.S. Mail plus an online portal communication regarding the change, billing/payments as well as direct contact with Nancy B for all maintenance issues. They have worked in liaison with our dedicated Homeowners' Board to handle necessary and challenging issues (Regulations & Rules~parking, landscaping, garbage collection, billing, swimming pool use, etc...) in a most professional and welcomed manner. Our complex is synergistically being pro-active thanks to our Homeowners Board and iCon Realty Management Services. I strongly suspect iCon will be a consistent 5 Star for our multiple complex through 2021 and beyond. read more

Icon Realty management manages our Homeowners Association for my condo. Recently, I communicated with our HOA manager my concerns and requests. She was prompt to meet with me at our unit and allow me to physically show her what the issues where with our drains, patio and other items. Not only was she kind and cooperative, she then went out of her way to meet our demands and get the project completed. During a very bad rainy night, we contacted her via email to let her know water was intruding our unit, she called us back immediately and jokingly said... What would my boss would do? She then dispatched a plumber to clear the drain and made sure our unit did not have any water damage. about ten minutes after the plumber left she called follow up, something most people would not do on their Saturday. Icon Realty employees, are very caring and responsive in a very timely manner. Your company is only as good as it's employees and it looks like Icon Realty Management handpicked them. read more

My condo building in Beverly Hills works with Icon Realty and I have found them to be delightful. My calls, emails are returned quickly. Ervin, Jordan and Lisa are wonderful to work with. The different departments communicate well so there's never a reason to call different people to make sure they received the information. I am surprised by the negative reviews posted because in my experience, Icon has been very efficient and provided great customer service. I think it is important to note that if you are going to ask an HOA to fix/respond to an issue, the condo owners need to take responsibility to clearly identify and provide accurate and correct information to the HOA. It's not fair to assume or expect them to magically know specific information that pertains to only the condo owner. I highly recommend Icon Realty Services. read more

I had the pleasure to speak to Jordan S. today as I needed assistance with a Condo cert correction. Being in the mortgage business has challenges due the fact that some people just aren't customer service oriented. I was prepared for having to leave a Voice Mail, following up with another voice mail along with sending emails. Jordan should be training other HOA management staffs the art of customer service. I explained what I needed and while we were speaking she googled exactly what she needed and then executed. I was surprised to see the review by Jennifer D. because this couldn't be farther from our experience with Icon. The staff is incredibly responsive and polite whether dealing with Christine or directly with Alan. In fact, it is constantly brought up in board meetings how happy we are that we switched to Icon. Not only do issues get resolved quickly and appropriately, Alan has helped us make decisions using his background in development and management that have helped us save a ton of money! Jordan Singer is wonderful! She is the nicest and most responsive property manager I've ever dealt with - I had the most pleasant exchange with her. I work for Redfin Corporation and I contact property management companies on a daily basis. It is extremely difficult to get in contact with anyone and more often than not your calls/emails go unanswered. That wasn't the case with Jordan. I called once, she answered and gave me her email to follow up. I emailed her and got a response on the same day. My questions were answered in a timely manner and through it all she was kind, sweet and understanding of our situation. I hope anyone who contacts Icon Realty gets to deal with Jordan.
