I visited ICON Eyecare yesterday for the first time.I have a long history of vision problems and eye surgeries and have had some very negative experiences. I was nervous about the appointment and was very anxious about what I might be told. EVERYONE was super professional...the front staff were friendly and professional, the tech was thorough and patient and it was evident that they were both well trained. I then met a medical school intern who examined me before the doctor. He was wonderful and he will be an asset wherever he settles. Dr. Martin was beyond amazing. He listened, answered all of my questions and was extremely re assuring. Most of my fears were unfounded and he was sure to put them all to rest. I cannot recommend this team enough. INCOMPETENT! DO NOT GO HERE!! Dr. Seamus Martin misdiagnosed my prescription several months ago, and spent half the appointment trying to sell me on vision correction surgery. Certainly glad I didn't get that done with his MISDIAGNOSIS. I then used that prescription to purchase contact lenses. I struggled with the lenses and called the "corporate hotline" to get an appointment to check my prescription. Everytime I called I had to wait on hold, only to be told they were booked for a month out. I was finally seen by a doctor in the Denver location who immediately fixed my prescription and ordered trial lenses for me. The trial took forever to arrive, but once it did, I wore the lenses a few days and then called the "corporate hotline" to confirm my prescription and see how I could be compensated for the six month supply of contacts I'd already paid for with the prescription that THEIR DOCTOR GOT WRONG. The customer service gal did not know how to help me and said I would be called back - I WASN'T. I called two more times over a week or so and was told I would be called back by a supervisor - I WASN'T. Today I called two different times, spending both of my work breaks on hold with their stupid f'n "corporate hotline". Both calls I was told I would be connected to the supposed supervisor and was then HUNG UP ON. This company F'n sucks!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! THEY ARE THE WORST!!! Their doctors and their customer service representatives are INCOMPETENT AT DOING THEIR JOBS!!!! read more

It runs like a 1970s poorly managed small business. Icon Eyecare is a top heavy organization with an inexperienced management team whereas technology is an afterthought. Unfortunately, Icon Eyecare's onboarding/training has been the least effective onboarding implementation I have ever encountered. Delays and gaps in communication during the interview and onboarding process whereas a week or more went by where I heard from no-one. The employee introduction that was sent out to introduce me to the staff wasn't about me but rather another employee. The Peter Principle appears to be in full effect at ICON Eyecare, with individuals placed in leadership roles without the requisite competencies to effectively manage teams, processes, or organizational growth. Turnover is rampant. Advancement within the organization appears to be heavily influenced by personal relationships with leadership, specifically Dr. Xxx, rather than performance-based criteria and historical data. Additionally, it was verbally shared with me by a middle manager that long-term professional success is closely tied to one's relationship with Dr. Xxx, and I opine that negatively impacts role stability and retention. Employment at Icon Eyecare hosts a very poor culture in that it is highly cliquish and gossipy, with inclusion and influence concentrated within particular groups. The mileage reimbursement rate is significantly below industry standards. 27 cents a mile will not cover wear and tear on your vehicle. With that, there is also criteria that must be met on the year and value of the car you drive in the field for Icon Eyecare. I was given instruction from my supervisor to stop driving when I hit my maximum mileage payout as the reimbursement rate was capped and I wasn't getting paid for the additional miles driven. Leadership practices at the middle-management level tend to lean toward a command-and-control (yelling and name calling included) approach, which impedes engagement, trust, and performance. It has been noted that techs do not need experience to work at Icon Eyecare as Icon will train them. The employees receive training and then leave the organization and take their new skill set where they are paid a fair wage and are respected. As a member of the growth team, I was disappointed to learn that my business cards as well as my supervisor's business cards contained an incorrect phone number for approximately eight months which directly impeded outreach and effectiveness. It is important to note that there appears to be a tight budget in that I was unable to receive current collateral to promote the business despite multiple requests. Once received the newly ordered referral forms, I realized I was provided the incorrect collateral, again, by my supervisor. The organization's extreme risk aversion to the Kickback Law compliance materially limits what a physician representative can reasonably and effectively do in the field and middle management doesn't understand the law whereas poor direction was given and a violation occurred. Organizational changes occur frequently and rapidly, often without soliciting input from those most affected, which can disrupt workflows and reduce engagement. Employees who raise concerns about ineffective policies and procedures appear to face adverse consequences from coworkers and leadership, which discourages constructive feedback and continuous improvement. In the eight months of my employment, I observed two CEOs and a Director leave the organization, all of whom appeared to be pushed out by a cliquish leadership team. This high-level turnover raises concerns about organizational stability and leadership effectiveness. Rather than investing in existing employees and internal capabilities i.e., CRM for the growth team or for an iPad in the field, the organization opted to acquire a competitor. Given existing operational challenges, this decision raises questions about capacity, strategic priorities, and oversight. My advice to future employees is to ensure that all employment-related agreements, job descriptions, and offers are documented in writing, signed by both parties and dated. In my experience, within just three months, I went from being offered a company vehicle to being offered a $1,200 monthly stipend instead, and ultimately was required to use my personal vehicle in conjunction with a mileage tracking platform and being reimbursed at .27 cents per mile. The absence of a job description and organizational chart limited clarity around responsibilities, decision-making authority, and team structure, which can affect onboarding, performance expectations, and overall operational efficiency. There appears to be limited responsiveness from senior leadership to emails from staff, which can hinder collaboration, timely problem-solving, and employee engagement. read more

The Dr's are all fine but the billing department is horrible. Apparently they changed their billing system in 2024. They never sent any statements from the old billing system to me so after 2 years not even knowing i had a balance they turned my bill over to a collection agency. When I confronted them they told me that some accounts balance from the old system did not carry over to the new system. So not i have a ding on my credit report and they could care less. The Dr. Was gaslighting me and said my eyes are dry. The gaslighting continued when the Dr. told me 80 % of the world population has dry eyes. Now I had surgery and a lens was installed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but this double vision in one eye is not from dry eyes. read more

I met with Dr. Kim to see about a treatment for an eye problem. She did treat the problem and scheduled a follow-up appointment. The problem was resolved, but she kept scheduling more subsequent follow-up appointments. I finally stopped going because it wasn't a recurring problem and there was no reason given for why I should keep having exams even though there were no problems. read more

When I went to get my eyes checked they said it would be $50 after insurance. Turned out to be $511.00 Later found out the charge went towards a Medicare deductible. So it was very deceptive. Beware. read more

Their customer service was poor at best- I drove 25 minutes to get there, and was admittedly late, however, I specifically called them once I knew I was gonna be late, and they told me to come to see the doctor. When I got there, they told me that I would need to reschedule . Seriously??? I reminded them that I had called 10 minutes prior, and they told me to i could see the dr. They didn't make any effort to try and rectify the situation so I would look elsewhere if I were you. read more

The surgeon who performed the cataract surgery was very knowledgeable and skilled. The follow-up appointment that same day with the ophthalmologist was very good. Eye pressure was very high. He was not an alarmist and was able to get the pressure down. Since that time, eye pressure has continued to rise. We have had to insist on follow-up appointments with the resolution to continue to add more and different eye drops. The last appointment with Dr. Stone indicated the eye pressure continues to rise. Her solution was to add more drops and no follow up appointment and no instructions with next steps or how long to use drops. Contacted office to speak with surgeon regarding next steps and questions. Called three days in a row with the answer of, "someone will call you back." No one has called in three days. Do not use this provider! If you choose to use this provider, hopefully you will not have any problems and you will probably have a good experience. Good luck! read more

The service I have received from ICON Eyecare has been abysmal. I went to ICON as a new patient to have my eyes checked and obtain new contact lenses. It has now been over a month and after numerous phone calls I have made are the contacts I ordered ready for pick up at the correct office. First, I have had to reach out to ICON before anyone calls me back. I was continuously told I'd be contacted regarding updates on my contacts. This never happened, unless I called. I was not informed (just found out today) that the right lenses just arrived because they were on back order. Over my numerous calls, no one told me this information. At one point, I was informed the left lenses arrived and I could pick them up at the Golden office. That is not where my appointment was, it was at the Denver office. I was advised that the left lenses would be taken to the Denver office. I asked where the right lenses were. I was informed they would have to look into where the right contacts were and would receive a call back. This didn't happen, until I called first...again. Finally, I was told on 10/17 the both sets of contacts were in the Golden office. I again said I went to the Denver office. I was then told a supervisor would take them to Denver. I requested a call to confirm. Surprise, surprise this didn't happen. I called....again. The service provided was horrendous. I will pick up my contacts after the weekend in Denver, hoping that they will be there. This is the worst service I have received from an eyecare company ever. Is this how you always treat patients? This will be my last experience with your company. In addition, I will make certain to inform anyone looking for a new eye doctor (for any reason) not to even consider ICON. read more

Had a change of insurance. They called me two weeks prior to my appointment to get the new insurance. They had the new insurance and didn't tell me they were out of network until AFTER I had gotten here for my appointment and checked in. Waste of gas, waste of time, and I still have to pay for the stupid parking. I asked on the phone if my insurance was accepted and was told a majority of insurances were accepted. Why couldn't I be told my insurance didn't cover this BEFORE I got here and checked in? The lady at the desk was very nice though, but a little heads up would've been nice. read more

I would absolutely agree with other reviews, ICON's customer service is an absolute worst I have seen from any medical provider, and I would rather go to TARGET optical every day than to step another foot into ICON. And trust me, I wanted to give them business because they were located in the same office building. NEVER again, please stay away if you want any resemblance of reasonable and timely customer service. Made an appointment to see an optometrist (Dr. Greeley), provided whatever insurance information I had, and I was told that before the appointment they would let me know if they have all they need concerning my insurance. Came to the appointment just to be told that they do not have my insurance information (which was not immediately accessible to me at that specific moment). The employees that check patients in had absolutely zero interest in solving the issues and had no care for the fact that a patient need to see a doctor. What is funnier is if you ask to speak to the office manager about the issues of poor customer service, they offer to take your information and maybe give it to someone at some point. I feel like in an office like ICON, where customer service is not something the practice strives to improve, uphold, or even have, you would never get qualify medical care any of us deserves. My experience with the ICON office in Golden has been horrible from the start. I had some significant eye changes and thought it was time to see an ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist as I'm getting older and have a significant family history of eye disease. I waited a couple of weeks for a new pt appt (very typical and not a big deal), when I arrived for my appt I was told by the lady at the front that my appt had been cancelled?? "Who cancelled?" I asked. Well, it appears since I didn't respond to the text messages to confirm it auto cancels...Hmmm interesting. When I inquired on the number on file, it was not the correct phone number. After insisting that I be seen, since this was a them problem not a me problem, I wasn't going anywhere. I was seen by Dr Weiss and he evaluated my eyesight and determined that I needed to have a procedure on each eye to get to a point where we could address the underlying bigger issue. He was very detailed in explaining the process and what I could expect. I really felt comfortable with him and the course of action that he'd be taking to get my vision back to 20/20 ultimately without glasses moving forward. One procedure down and no issues! After my 2nd procedure, I show up for my post op appt to have the protective covering removed from my eye only to hear that I didn't have an appt scheduled. Same front desk lady with obviously ZERO customer service training, basically said sorry about your luck! After spending the weekend with this thing in my eye there was NO WAY that I was leaving before having it removed. After the other front desk lady (BTW she has the same level of Customer Service training) came back and said they were going to "fit me in" but it could be about 40 min. Not once was there an apology, only "I didn't make the mistake, someone else did". I asked to speak to the Office Manager and was given an email address? Really an email? Fine..I emailed her sitting in the waiting room. By the time Dr Weiss came into the room I was in tears. I told him that I respected him as a physician and trusted him with my eyesight, but that the office staff would drive me away from his practice. He was very empathetic and stated that he would also take my concerns to the administrators and if needed he would refer me to another practice. Well, it's been over 24 hrs and I have yet to get a return call from the office manager Adrianna Garcia in response to my email. I have also called to get set-up for their pt portal and of course the person I talked to can't do it and needed to send my request to the clinic...Great... Those unskilled women again. You guessed it, I got a text saying it was done, but alas, no email with a link. Maybe I can discuss that with Adrianna when she returns my call....Chances of a return call?? If I were a gambling girl I'd say that's not going to happen. Moral of my story, if you are lucky enough to get through the ineffective, incompetent, and unfriendly office staff with clearly poor leadership, you just might get a great Dr. read more

I needed a second cataract surgery after having an initial eye taken care of at Kaiser. My insurance changed so I went to ICON. First, my office visit was 2 hrs and 10 minutes. They saw me 40 minutes late. I literally sat in an exam room for 25 minutes before asking to be seen. Second, the surgeon didn't bother to tell me any of the surgical options for my surgery - not one. Nothing about lens options. Nothing about surgical options. It was the billing person who asked me if I wanted laser assisted surgery, etc. Furthermore, they couldn't even estimate the cost of anasthesia or oral meds - despite carrying out these surgeries 2 days a week. After I called to cancel my surgery due to a fundamental lack of understanding of options and cost, ICON still called me back to demand payment for a surgery I canceled within the cancellation window. I have been going to Icon Eyecare for years. My optometrist is Dr. Greeley. Every time I go there, I experience excellent customer service. The staff are all very knowledgeable and considerate. The atmosphere is professional and clean. Dr. Greeley explains things to me so that I understand why we are going in the direction we are going. I appreciate how much he cares about making sure I'm educated so I can make informed choices. I feel so blessed to have such an excellent team of doctors. I highly recommend this practice. read more

After I returned from vacation with a large scratch in the center of my vision on one lense I went directly to the Westminster location, where I have been a patient for years, for a replacement lense. They had no Optician on staff and said they couldn't get me a lense. An Optician at another location couldn't have entered the order?? I stopped back in two more times with the same story. Today when I stopped in they finally have an Optician on staff. BUT, now my lense warranty and prescription are expired. Lab refuses to warranty the lense. 'Best they can do is have the Dr extend my prescription and sell me a replacement lense for $300-$400.' That's the "best"? Can't even give an exact cost? No, that's not even close to the best, that's HORRIBLE. Poor quality of care and customer service. Too bad as Dr. May was good (prior to selling the practice), Dr. Stone took over my care and is good, but now I'll find a new provider. I'll never be back and will apologize to the friends I have refered there. read more

If you have a lot of time on your hands and having your appointment occur well after the appointment time doesn't matter to you, this is the place for you. For my first appointment, the appointment was 45 minutes late, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was the end of the day. Then, my next appointment was a 40 minute drive each way and a 3-week wait to get. At 45 min passed the appointment time (which I scheduled early morning trying to avoid the stack up of lateness that appears to come by the end of the day), there was still 2 patients ahead of me. No way I was dumb enough to keep waiting and wasting time as the appointment likely would not have occurred until 1.5 hours after my appointment time. Between the lateness of the first appointment and the drive time and delays of the second appointment (which I never got to have because they were running too late), I wasted nearly 3 hours resulting in absolutely nothing! Not a place I will be giving my cash to for light-adaptive lens replacement. read more

I loved meeting Dr. Kim on my first visit to ICON. I loved her intelligence, depth of knowledge, expertise, and upbeat nature. I really wanted her to perform my cataract surgery. However, my experience with the clinic was very disappointing. It's extremely difficult, if not impossible, get get a live person on the phone to check the status of your case. Their office seems to run like a production line, and apparently patients cannot interfere with that process. They needed clearance from my cardiologist as I have a pacemaker. The first one they rejected. The second clearance contained around 20 pages. ICON never responded to that, and after 3 weeks, I have not received an update on my my case or have been scheduled for surgery. This completely undermines my trust in ICON, and will not try to work with them anymore. Their marketing byline is "You are at the Center of Excellence". Absolutely phenomenal staff and team of doctors; I highly recommend Dr. Kim as she is incredibly kind, caring, professional, and well educated. A month ago I thought I would never be a candidate for corrective eye surgery to improve my vision. I was informed about the ICL procedure which is ideal for patients who aren't good candidates for LASIK or PRK. The process was easy and relatively pain free, which surprised me and looking back I wish I wasn't as anxious and nervous for the procedures. Dr. Kim did everything in her power to make sure I was comfortable and was exuding a warm caring professional demeanor. The laser procedure was quick and not nearly as scary as I thought it was. Going in for the actual lens to be put in was nerve wracking but again the staff was there to make sure I felt comfortable. I didn't feel any pain or see what was going on during the surgery which were my biggest concerns. When I expressed slight discomfort the anesthesiologist was there to administer more drugs to keep me comfortable. Healing was very easy and pain free, at times I almost forgot that I had surgery and had to stop myself from lifting things. I was able to see clearly fairly quickly after surgery but Dr. Kim said I was ahead of the curve. I am beyond pleased with the outcome of my surgery and I'm waiting for it to sink in that I can see clearly without contacts or glasses for the first time in almost 20 years. Extremely disappointed they make an appointment for me for 1pm and then have me waiting 30 minutes in the lobby with no follow up even after I ask what number I am as I continue to see other patients that came after me walk in to their appointment. I had an absolutely amazing experience at Icon for my Lasik surgery. From consultation to procedure everyone was welcoming and reassuring for a pretty nerve wrecking procedure. I was so nervous but after all was done I would go back once a year if it meant having the vision I do now. Dr.H was my surgeon and he was so knowledgeable - he made the experience very easy. I felt absolutely no pain and everything they told me would happen did. I could cry I love my Lasik so much. read more

These people are completely lost. I had three eye exams and made it to the operating room, then they realized they didn't understand my prescription. They decided to test my prescription by sending me some contacts before going forth with the procedure. I appreciated their cautious attitude, but then the contacts were not mailed to me. I had to call three times to get them to send me the contacts (mind you, I had already paid them 4k for the procedure) because they blew me off the first two times. Several weeks later, a pair of glasses (not contacts) arrived in the mail from Icon. They came in an envelope with no wrapping or protection and were so bent and crooked that I couldn't even tell whether they were the correct prescription. Can you believe that I almost let these people take a laser to my eyeballs? read more

This review is related to the billing department. I have a credit that I have been trying to get back. I was told they could not credit my credit card used at time of service but would mail a check. After waiting 6 weeks for my check I have made numerous calls and have never spoken to a person, but have had to leave voice mails. No one has returned my call and and I still don't have my credit. This will honestly cause me to go elsewhere. I'm very disappointed in how this is being handled. As consumers our money should not be used to float a business. read more

Terrible billing practices, they will try to get every cent out of you and even when you present vision and medical insurance there are reasons for they can't or won't accept. What was a very brief and simple eye exam with absolutely no speciality services, they continued to bill me (out of pocket) more than $500. Will never return to any clinic associated with Icon UPDATE - The director of Revenue contacted me and said they would review the medical codes used to see if we could bill this to my VSP. I will say that she was most helpful and listened but it took several attempts to get it escalated to someone who could actually help. read more

While my contact lens eye exam and meeting with Dr. Jarvis were a pleasant experience all around, I am not impressed with Icon's customer service. It all started during check-out when I asked for a simple quote on my Air Optix lenses. This is a simple task. They should either have a price list for commonly ordered lenses, or be able to look into their computer. However, I was told the person who could quote had left for the day. No offer to have them call me the following day, just a simple "I can't give you a quote". It was a Friday afternoon and I felt like they were rushing me out. To make matters worse, I was told that my VSP plan didn't cover any portion of the cost towards contact lenses. I was surprised to hear that, since they had always covered at least a portion in the past. I figured, maybe the plan has changed. Heck, since Obamacare everything has gotten more expensive. Come to find out, after I ordered my contacts from Costco, my plan pays up to $150 towards contact lenses when ordered through an in-network provider. I called Icon right away in a second attempt to get a quote for lenses. Again, the front desk person was unable to help. I asked for a call back the same day so I could cancel my Costco order if I needed to. I didn't get a call back until two days (!) later. At that time, my Costco order had already been shipped. Costco being an out of network provider, I ended up only being reimbursed for $100 by my vision plan. Had Icon given me correct information, instead of falsely stating I had no coverage towards lenses, I would have an extra $50 in my pockets now. Furthermore, taking 2 days to return a call and the inability to provide a simple quote by the front office staff are reason enough to never return. read more

Note: This review was completely composed during the many delays of my 2 hour, 16 minute visit for a routine yearly eye exam and contact lens purchase. Sigh... As his previous building in downtown Denver is set to be demolished, Dr. Drucker merged into ICON Eyecare and moved far from the original downtown location I've been going to for 10+ years. Frustratingly, my first experience with the new company and location was very poor. A need to now drive vs. walk to the office led to delays in travel (which I frustratingly learned had moved from them via email and not a phone call), records errors stemming from merging computer applications led to delays in check-in, computer log-in issues led to delays during my actual eye exam, one assistant interrupting and than switching with the other led to continued delays in my eye exam, and now that I'm finally dilated one hour, five minutes into my appointment, I'm "anxiously" waiting to see what additional delays I will experience. As I type this, I am told we're waiting for an available exam room now post-dilation as all are now occupied. Deep breaths... After I finally see the eye doctor, he realizes that the contact specialist did not see me before his exam as he would have expected. So... I waited for her to review my file, chart, etc. It seems the excellent customer service and value of my time I've grown accustomed to for years has given way to other priorities of the eye clinic. Also, I was disappointed to learn they no longer sell eye glasses in house - which I didn't realize until my visit. Surprised they didn't "just email" me this beforehand too. Hope that you have multiple hours to dedicate to a routine yearly eye exam should you choose to come to ICON Eyecare. My 3:15pm appointment concluded at 5:31pm. Worst experience ever! I had an appointment to get my punctal plugs replaced cause one fell out. After I paid for the service and left, it I received a phone call from them saying I had an eye exam and I owe an additional $160 for the exam. I saw the doctor for literally 5 minutes and wasn't even aware that I was getting an eye exam or requested an eye exam. They are extremely unprofessional and have no communication with their patients. Will not be coming back to this place. Update: After I was told that I will get a call back after they spoke to upper management regarding the issue because I refuse to pay, they said they were willing to waive half of the fee but I will still have to pay for the remaining amount and demanded that I pay. From when I made the appointment to during my appointment and even when the doctor walked me to the front desk after my appointment to pay for the service, an eye exam was never mention and now they want to call asking for more money is absurd. Money is not that the issue and I can pay for the service but the principal is completely wrong. This place is extremely unethical and will perform a service on you without telling you and then come after you after you leave the facility saying you owe them money. read more

I wish I was leaving a good review, but unfortunately I can not. I was very hopeful that I would have good results, but I have been left with horrible vision since I had surgery. Three surgeries to be correct. I was told I needed PRK since I have astigmatism. After the first surgery I was left completely unable to make anything out clearly past 12"-18" form my face and that wasn't even clear. Each time I went back I was told it would take longer for the healing to take place. This went on through 3 surgeries. It started at two months of recovery and the last time I was told how long it would take was up to 2 years. I have been left with double vision in both eyes. Each eye is different so I see everything at least tripled with both eyes open and it gets worse at night where anything that is lit up turns into a star field with streaks everywhere. Now that it has been a few years it is only getting worse as I have headaches and pain in my eyes from trying to focus. When I'm sick it is horrible as I'm in constant pain and my ability to see is gone, everything is a mess and my head and eyes hurt. The last surgery I had they told me that there may not be enough lens left to do another surgery. I tried contacting them after the third one to let them know that I still had double vision, but no one replied to me. I wish I had never done it now. read more

I've been meaning to write for some time about my experience at Icon Lasik. In a word, it was EXCELLENT! I had the PRK procedure done on Oct 19, 2012 (I was NOT a good candidate for lasik due to steep & thin corneas). Yes, I was skeptical at first. Like many I had seen the King of Queens episode about a botched BOGO free laser eye procedure (very funny) and wondered if the low advertised price at Icon should be a concern. And I want to add that, NO, I did not/do not know anyone on staff at Icon, nor did they ever request that I give them an online review. I just want to help others in the same boat I was in several months back. I weighed all my options including getting evaluations done at two excellent (but pricey) laser surgery practices in Colorado Springs where I live. All of them said I would be a better PRK candidate than Lasik and all touted their equipment, doctors, and customer service. After spending considerable time researching the PRK procedure, the doctors experience, the online reviews, the technology (laser) used, and the price I found that all things were fairly equal EXCEPT the price. (I wanted to mention that you can find an unhappy person reviewing ANY of these places. There are always a few. I trusted the MAJORITY of the online reviews and am glad I chose Icon.) Icon was running a limited time special with Groupon for $1000 (that included the evaluation, procedure and all follow-up visits to check eyes post surgery). They offered me a few other deals about ongoing optometry visits and they may make sense for some folks but I knew I wasn't interested due to living 60 miles out of town. Another perk was that I was able to put the procedure on my DISCOVER card and get an additional 1% ($10) off! Even after all the gas to make 5-6 trips from Colorado Springs I still paid WAY less than the other two offers I received from between $3500-4000 for the same PRK procedure. I found the location to be handy for me (right off of I-25 and Colorado Blvd), the front office and doctor staff to be friendly and knowledgeable and the procedure to be quick with only mild discomfort both during and recovery period. I was comforted by the fact that the day of the surgery the doctors confirmed WHO I was several times (asked me my name and date of birth) and the PROCEDURE I was getting (PRK). That made me feel a bit better. So the day of my procedure I was told that unlike the lasik procedure I would NOT have 20/20 vision immediately but rather it would most likely take 6-8 weeks for full visual acuity. I found this to be true. As I mentioned before I had almost ZERO pain at any time but I did find it hard to be patient for my eyes to finally reach 20/20--which they have. I kept relying on the doctor's word to not get impatient or freak out but just be patient to allow the eyes to fully heal. You can ask my wife, after 2 to 3 weeks my eyes were still probably 20/40 and I had to squint at the computer screen at work. SLOWLY it got better over the next few weeks and I would say by 8 weeks I got to 20/20. Now it is crazy to see my wife mess with contacts and saline solution at night and in the morning. That was MY life for 26 years! No more. The only side-effect I have experienced is a VERY slight dryness in the eyes and only every now and then. I have a little bottle of eye drops I use but they are really not necessary. I would recommend Icon Lasik to anyone that is on the fence and wondering if it is "safe" or "wise." My wife, who is more squeamish about the whole idea of laser eye surgery, is already making plans to get the procedure done for herself this year! Thanks Icon! Love my new eyes! read more

Its been 2 days since I got my LASIK surgery done and I have just one word for ICON lasik and its doctors - AWESOME! 2 days and I am already driving, watching tv and doing everything that I used to with glasses - without glasses. The feeling is almost liberating! I am a software engineer and good vision without complications or pain is extremely important. As of now - my thoughts are: 1. Some of the nicest doctors and staff. 2. Doctors are patient and take the time to answer every question you might have. 3. Doctors recommend what is best for you - not the most expensive procedure/machine or what makes them the most money. 4. Everything up to now has been like clock work with my procedure. 5. Cheapest LASIK procedure (I paid $699 per eye - thats almost $500 cheaper per eye than most other facilities). 6. Icon doctors have a ton of experience - performed over 60000 operations. 7. Multiple technologies - so the doctor can choose what is best for your eyes and prescription. read more

After going to a couple of different consultations, I choose to go with Icon. I liked the doctor as he spent a lot of time with me going over everything and answering any questions I had. I do not feel pressured to schedule the surgery. I had Lasik done on March 12th. It was quick and painless. During my post op exam on the 13th we noticed spec (tiny tiny spec) of steroid under my flap. I had to come back in on the 14th to have it removed. They lifted my flap and washed away the spec. This hurt more then the first time around. It has been a few weeks and my eyes are still adjusting. I hope I do not have to go back in for a correction but there is a chance. They are super dry (they were dry to began with). Love being able to see all the time and the freedom and convenience are worth the money! Price was fair and doctors are nice. read more

What an awesome experience. I finally buckled up and decided to do this after getting sick of contacts drying out my eyes. The free consultation was smooth, and they didn't push me at all to go through with it. A month later, I set up the appointment and did it. The procedure itself took less than 2 hours. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. They numb your eyes, you go into a room, and they do it. It hurt only for a few seconds (mainly intense pressure). Almost immediately after the procedure I could see. By the next morning, I went from 20/250 vision to 20/25, and it's only going to improve more, the doctor said. The cost for me, since I have astigmatisms in both eyes, was $999 per eye, plus $200 for the lifetime warranty (if I ever need it again, it's free, as long as you make you annual appointment). Worth every penny. Definitely recommend this place!! read more

What can I say? If I had to do it again I would. Thankfully my eyes have come out great so it's unlikely I will need to :D I do have to say healing took longer than expected in terms of my eyes being consistent and feeling normal, but I think that is just a fact of life and not a result of poor care. I felt comfortable with the staff going in, the procedure was quick and pain-free and the after care has been great. Unlimited aftercare for a year is covered in the cost of the procedure. This is fantastic for somebody like me who was seriously OVER paranoid and impatient and went in several times after when ever my eyes seemed to be having issues. They were patient and took all of my concerns seriously and ultimately solved all of my concerns with a combination of over-the-counter allergy and wetting eye drops. read more

Very happy!!!! The vision in my left eye was 20 / -4.75 and now it's 20 / 20. My right eye was done many years ago when RK was the only procedure. No pain, very little discomfort. This was much easier and faster than I thought it would be and above all it was much cheaper as well. The whole procedure took about 2 - 3 minutes from the time I sat in the chair until I was done. I had the choice of mono-vision or full correction. The mono-vision procedure is for reading. I chose the full correction and I can read without any correction. Very happy with the doctors and staff. They are all very friendly, helpful. Very professional as well. I would highly recommend Icon LASIK if you are considering vision correction. At the very least talk to them and have them tell you what they can do. It doesn't cost anything to have them run all the tests and you might just like what they have to offer. OK, this is purely on the customer service phone portion as I have not yet gone into an office yet for the consult or surgery. First impressions matter and the CSR on the phone (Daisy) was awesome! She was patient with me through all my questions and helping me get an appointment scheduled. She also answered questions about Groupon, the Dr's, the consult, the location, etc. Once I get through the consult and surgery I will update my experience with the rest of the process - should it all work out. read more
