I came and excited to have a really nice experience. As someone who's queer myself I was really excited to finally check out this bar. I go in and the bar is packed, which is a great sign. However, ordering a drink, of course in a packed bar is really hard. I had my jacket over a chair and someone was sitting on it and I didn't make a big deal out of it. So I sat on the chair next to mine. Again, just trying to order a drink. The person who had their stuff on the chair comes back and instead of it being between me and this person it turns into two more people jumping in on me upset that I'm sitting on someone else's chair. The bartender then gets in on it, and he starts being rude and yelling at everybody, but more so me because he was friends with the other people. Then me and the guy are laughing and making up and talking. And he comes back and yells at us again. This time for no reason. Screaming out of the top of his lungs. Needless to say I never got to replace my drinks. And I never got to see if it was a good bar because I was being yelled at by the bartender and other people. Was in there for maybe 15-20 mins. Really awful experience and it was the bartender with short black hair. Hopefully he learns to actually be kinder. Definitely didn't feel like a safe space read more

Both Yelp and Icon Bar's website state that they are open until 4am everyday. Recently a bartender told me that they were open until 2am that night. I pointed out the difference between what he said and what I had read online. His snarky response was that 2am had been closing time on that particular weeknight for over a year. He made no move to look at the discrepancy or make any note to pass on to management. So unless the bartender is a liar, the 2am closing time has existed for over a year and they don't bother to change their hours listed on their website. Created quite a few disgruntled customers that night. They clearly to revamp their communication and customer service. read more

The bartenders are always wonderful, the shows are great. This place is how I found out about Sherry Poppins and Audrey Phoenix (she's missed) always drag my friends to this place whenever they come to visit. LGBTQ nightlife is a pastime I dearly missed during this pandemic, so it's really nice that it is making its comeback. ICON has gracefully re-opened its doors with a strong focus on COVID safety and comfort, yet fully retaining its super fun and flirty atmosphere it's known for, with great music and an A team of charming bar staff. Safety measured have been nicely integrated into the indoor setup -- temperature checks, clearly defined social distancing with stanchions, and mask wearing policies when outside our social bubble -- I definitely felt safe when I came. Must namedrop bartender Danny-- he's sweet, kind, and I love that he is a very talented filmmaker to boot! The Lady Gaga cocktail he made me tonight is my new favorite. read more

This review is for Alex and Skip's Ladies and Gentlethemmes event held on Sunday 5/15/22 from 2-6 PM. These two are event planning professionals and pioneers, who are carving a space for folks that is much desired, much loved, and much needed. They successfully created a fun loving, safe, warm, mindful and inclusive space for queer women and non-binary folks to have some fun and connect with each other! Although the event took place at Icon, a lovely bar, Alex and Skip took care in catering to folks who don't drink alcohol as well, with their list of carefully curated mocktails and games that provided engaging activities beyond consuming alcohol. Furthermore, the timing of the event was excellent, taking advantage of usually quieter hours at a bar, Sunday at 2 PM and ending early, around 6 PM which is great for the working professional or student. I would love to attend more events hosted by Alex and Skip. They know how to cater to the lgbtq+ community really, really well! read more
