Fantastic technical school serving Collin County. In my line of work I am exposed to a lot of…read moreschools and I am privileged to behind the scenes knowledge of what they are doing for their students to prepare them for real world experience. The instructors, staff, and faculty all are passionate about what they are doing and creating innovative ways to prepare their students. For example, they have partnered with industry partners who underwrite part of the setting up educational programs and costs in order to provide the school with great resources and in exchange the school creates programs that are immediately needed and employable in the job market. It is a win/win! This particular campus provides educational opportunities in Automotive Technology, Collision Technology, Welding, HVAC, Construction, Nursing, IT, and more. Being a technical college the per hour tuition is a fraction of other colleges and universities. To me that seems like a win for the students and a win for the community!

I would not recommend coming here for a correspondence exam or using this testing center. As a…read morestudent at an online university, I needed a testing center to take an exam. The supervisor I spoke with multiple times while trying to schedule my test was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. After finally getting the exam scheduled, I paid $30 for the appointment. When I arrived, I spent about 20 minutes going through an extremely uncomfortable check-in process. I was asked to lift my hair, show parts of my skin, pat myself down, empty my pockets, and spit out my gum before being allowed to take the exam. The man checking me in even had to "check with his supervisor" to see if I was allowed scratch paper and pencil for an ALGEBRA exam... I understand the importance of preventing cheating, but with cameras everywhere and a full staff present, the level of screening felt excessive and unnecessary. To make matters worse, the testing center does not clearly communicate all of their rules and procedures ahead of time. In the end, I wasn't even able to take my exam because they would not allow the lockdown browser required by my university. While I understand there may have been complications on my school's side, the interactions I had with the supervisor were unpleasant and unhelpful throughout the process. Overall, the experience was frustrating and a waste of time and money. I would strongly suggest students look for another testing center if possible.

"Types of Accreditation…read more Schools can receive accreditation from either national or regional accreditors. Nationally accredited schools are mostly for-profit. For example, they could offer vocational or technical programs. Most regionally accredited schools are non-profit, with academics as the primary focus. If you decide to attend a nationally accredited school, remember this: In some cases, regionally accredited schools will not accept transfer credits from a nationally accredited school. This is because of academic standards and differing courses of study." "If you want to attend a professional or specialized college, choosing an accredited program is very important for licensing purposes. Attending an unaccredited college could prevent you from taking the necessary steps for professional US licensure. In some fields, you need a license before you can legally practice your profession in the US. Choosing an accredited school can be crucial! Almost every profession has a group that is a recognized accreditor for professional or specialized schools." UniversityLanguage.com Be careful what program you choose. Investigate first & work with the recruiter. You have your part too! Credits for courses which are purely technical in nature may or may not transfer to a university. Educational institutions are either regionally or nationally accredited. Accreditation is a voluntary process that ensures a college, university, or degree program meets a universal standard for quality. Was looking forward to working with this LPC (listed under psychologist, she is not a psychologist)…read moreand went through the trouble of having my records sent to her after having to send off notarized letters to all my doctors. I sent an email to her expressing that I would like to make an appointment soon and she let me know she doesn't do appointments over email- fine, no big deal. I did not call her immediately because I am an adult and I work during the day, I was waiting until my day off to give her a call. She calls me a couple of days after the email (and I really do mean a couple, couldn't have been longer than 2 days or so) and is angry that I have not made me appointment yet. She is literally yelling at me at 8 am for not making an appointment and upset that I'm making her 'go in circles'. She then tells me repeatedly that she needs proof that I have a condition and she needs my records, I tell her I have them and will show her at my first appointment- so she repeats about 4 more times that she needs proof and reiterates how frustrated she is with me and tells me how things change so fast in her industry and how she doesn't want to be thought of as a letter mill for ESA's. I felt attacked, like seriously attacked. I felt like I was her therapist listening to all of her problems instead of the other way around. Very high strung, repeats things over and over again. I have anxiety the last thing I need is an unstable therapist. Im definitely taking my business elsewhere.
