Ichiba is a Japanese very big grocery store with a hot food counter serving everything from yakiniku, donburi, tofu and sushi to Shoyru ramen and takoyaki. I had Takoyaki, Edamame, Yakiniku mix which came with teriyaki chicken, beef tataki, pork, peppers and negima yakitori which was about £13 and tasted amazing. The yakoyaki and Hiyayakko tofu were also really good, the portions here are generous and prices are moderate. You get this little beeping device that beeps when your food is ready to collect, which is pretty cool.
The supermarket is well stocked with tons of Japan imported groceries, sake, sweets, tea, miso, noodles, rice, beauty products, tableware, books, mochi, mochi icecream, wagashi and also all the popular sauces like Kewpie mayo, okonomiyaki sauce, dashi, a butcher etc. Literally everything you need to make authentic Japanese food. The downside is that although all the products are the exact same as what you get in Japan since they are directly imported, they are super expensive and the price is marked up by x3-4 times that of the same product in Japan. But if you're looking for real authentic groceries, then Ichiba is great. read more
