Last year we had an excellent experience trying out Ice Cream Mountain after it was reopened under the banner of Kawartha Dairy. As other reviewers said, the servings were extremely generous and we were permitted to choose two different flavours for one "scoop" size. Just went today, and the counterperson advised that staff have been instructed to allow two flavours for a single scoop. Also, the portion size was pretty average. When I asked why it was different than last year, the counterperson said something about the lease being a different status and that the higher ups want to keep track of inventory. Flavour-wise the ice cream was quite good. The ambiance was okay- they could consider adding some music. I appreciated the seating availability in the shade. read more

So I stopped for a double scoop waffle cone today. Boy was I surprised when the young lady handed me the monster of all ice cream cones. it was amazing~!!! I managed to finish it relatively unscathed, with only two drops on my shirt. My nose, beard and hand however enjoyed every drop. read more

Ice Cream Mountain - Ice Cream Mountain. - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Victoria, British Columbia

how could I not stop by a place called Ice Cream Mountain?!? I ordered two scoops in a bowl & the girl promptly filled the dish about 5" above the top of the dish! HUGE portions of delicious ice cream! WOW, the salted caramel was soooo good that I forgot what variety of chocolate was under it. It was so good I had to come back for more the next day. this place is a must visit, & the prices are very reasonable. read more

Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. You can get a two-scoop waffle cone for under $5, and they've got at least 20 different flavors, many with whole chocolate candies like Rolos and Reese's already in the ice cream. It's a bit of a drive to get there, and the public restroom is a port-o-potty, but it's definitely worth it. Take the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) north from Victoria. It's on the right just 500m north of W Shore Hwy. When I was there with my wife, a group of 20 runners stopped for a treat halfway through their training. That's how good this place is. read more

Visiting tourist review... We spotted this place beside the highway on our drive to Tofino and luckily it was still open when we returned at night. We had a lively chat w the owner Garret and he gave us all kinds of tips on things to see during our visit. The ice cream cones were huge and yummy. I especially loved the chocolate peanut butter. We loved it so much we went back 2 days later for more ice cream and to thank him for the travel tips!! Everyone should pull off the highway for a cone here!! read more

Awesome little shop, great service, and huge portions. Thanks for making a Washingtonian feel special and welcome.

Do not waste your time at this place. Victoria has a wide assortment of ice cream shops. This location does not have a kids size. When I explained it was to much for my kid I asked if they could put the second scoop in a cup so it wasnt wasted. They would only do this for an additional $5. No flexibility. I was not asking for a free scoop. The minimum is 2. I just wanted a throwaway cup for the second scoop. read more

My daughter came out crying. She accidentally dropped 1 of her 2 scoop ice cream cone, I wasn't in the store but when I went in and asked for a replacement it was a nasty encounter. The old couple that was working were rude. After my daughter cleaned up her mess with her bare hands they offered to clean the mess but she refused. From my understanding it wasn't until she was nearly done before the old man offered to clean the mess. When I went in the lady accused my daughter of "jumping around" while she had her ice cream. She is 10. She does not jump around. When I told her that she yelled "You must be the only person in the world whose child does not jump around" Then the old man accused her of holding her ice cream upside down. Again, she is 10. She knows how to hold an ice cream cone. As a defensive mama, yes, I yelled. And the lady hopes that I never return for their over priced Island Farms Ice cream because I took money out of their pocket by asking for 1 more scoop of ice cream. read more

My kids love this place, but I personally found the ice cream kind of icy and not super creamy. I haven't been back, but my kids have gone with their grandparents and still like it. Perhaps I'll give it another chance next summer. read more

Fun place harkens back to my youth. Strange location. Great ice cream. Worth the drive and hanging out around the large fountain/ pergola.

While on vacation in Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada we decided to take a four hour drive from Victoria to Tofino. On our way to Tofino we drove passed this little Ice cream stand on the side of the road and said "maybe we can check this place out on our way back. About 12 hours later when we're close to our air b&b we drove passed it thinking it might be closed but as I drove passed I noticed in the rear view mirror that it was very nicely lit up so we decided to turn around to see if was in fact still open. Luckily it was. It just so happened that the owner of this ice cream parlor was behind the counter. His name is Garret born in Holland but had been in Canada for around forty years. Garret is such a nice guy. He gave some suggestions on what we can do while on the island and he was not wrong about any of it! Almost forgot to mention the ice cream. Now anyone who knows me I'm not the biggest fan of ice cream but the ice he serves there is pretty damn good!! I would definitely stop by this place again and again. If you ever find yourself on Vancouver Island swing by this place, you won't regret it! And who knows maybe you'll be lucky enough to meet Garret. Garret if you ever get a chance to read this review, thank you for helping our first visit to Canada just that much more memorable. read more

I wanted one scoop. Not two. The girl would not give me one scoop because I was apparently over the age limit. Very bad customer service! Will get my ice cream some where else next time. read more
