Lots of Maple syrup and other maple flavored items along with a large variety of Canadian candies. Small shop, not a place to sit and enjoy. The employees were overwhelmed which was all over their faces. Had about 5 behind the counter and about 2 serving up the scoops for the long line. One employee loudly asked her coworkers why it was so crazy...well it's 730pm on a Sunday with a cruise ship in port. I may have accomplished a lifelong goal of finding the best gelato there is. There aren't *quite* 66 flavors here, but there are an abundance of flavors including unique ones such as Spumoni. I tried both tiramisu and matcha. Both were ridiculously creamy, decadent and perfectly sweet. The tiramisu was particularly tasty - I'm usually skeptical of desserts that try to emulate other desserts but this was incredible. If you like caramel flavored desserts/ it's a must try. I visited both days in Victoria and will most certainly be returning the next time I am there. read more

My daughter was really wanting some ice cream so we walked by this place. There a group of 3 younger gentlemen inside being helped, possibly friends of the young lady working. When it was our turn our daughter asked to taste one of the flavors and we were told they no longer were doing samples. Not surprisingly the three people in front of us were all holding sampling spoons. Was very disappointed that we were blatantly lied to and my 7 year old ended up picking a flavor she did not like. Go to a gelato shop and not get gelato? Crazy, I know, but there is much more than just gelato here! This is like a gift shop of goodies, treats, sweets and snacks all in the name of Canada! Of course, given the touristic area, it makes sense, but there is some genuine stuff here. After taking a look around, we saw the maple cookies being sold both in boxes and individually or loose. 5 cookies were $2 so we chose three maple cookies and two of the chocolate cream cookies. The chocolate cream cookies were no big deal. The cookie itself was crispy but the chocolate cream was a bit too fluffy and not chocolatey enough. On the other hand, the maple cookies were delicious. The cookies were great and the maple filling really tasted like maple! A good amount of cream and a nice bite each time. Huge disappointment to what should have been a tasty ice cream stop on a hot day. At $ 7 per scoop we would definitely expect better. The ones we chose had no flavour. 'Lemon death' didn't taste like lemon at all just like fat and sugar. The lime sorbet also had no flavour. We both had a couple spoonfuls and then tossed it in the garbage, something we have never done before. With tax and tips that was a waste of almost 18 dollars. As the front of the Gelato place was the Shuttle pick up spot, we had to try their gelato! They allowed us to try several flavors which were all delicious! We got two scoops (pistachio and banana) which were perfection! I love that they weren't overly sweet yet full of flavor. If you're in the area, you have to try this place out. The place doesn't just do gelato though; they sell all kinds of sweets inside including fudge, syrup, candy, cookies and salt water taffy. They give you two large generous scoops in a cup with a slice of a waffle cone with your order. There's nothing not to love about this awesome sweetery!! Not only do they sell candies and cookies and all other kinds of souvenir treats like maple syrup and smoked salmon, but they have awesome gelato and sorbet, all homemade. We stopped in after dinner to grab some sorbet. The only reason I took away one star is because they didn't offer tastes. There were so many choices of sorbet and I was dying to taste gelato but they didn't offer that here. Regardless I ordered mixed berry and blood orange sorbet in a cup and it came with an adorable triangle waffle cookie. My guy got lemon and blueberry and he just loved it. Excellent staff too! We returned today to buy some souvenirs like maple cream cookies and salt water taffies. The prices were a little steep on the sorbet but not so much on the souvenirs so it's still a good deal! Would have been 1-star if not for the the fact that they were the last sweets place open downtown after 8pm on a weeknight. First off, this isn't gelato. This is ice cream. If I hadn't been to Italy previously, I wouldn't really have known. And it's clear they're duping tourists and getting away with charging $6 for a single scoop of 'OK' ice cream. As ice cream, it actually isn't that bad...probably at least 3 stars. The peanut butter/chocolate was pretty good. My wife had the berry cheese cake and it was pretty OK. I got a dark chocolate bear claw as well. It was clear it had probably been in the case for over a year. You know the whitish dust that accumulates on uneaten chocolate? It had that. I didn't realize it until I got home and was chomping away. And the "caramel" inside had crystallized like a frozen lake from the rigidity of years of lonely isolation behind the glass.
