That part would have been fine with me if they had told me up front after actually listening to me. Instead, I got stuck with two shotguns that I had to get a friend to pick up and hold for me. They totally mishandled my shotguns. I wouldn't have written this review if they would have refunded the money I paid them to ship the guns. They didn't even after two calls. I handled it via my credit card issuer. I would avoid this gun shop.

The owners, Mary and Al , were very helpful and knowledgeable about guns and gun safety, and we never felt rushed. I had never shot a pistol before so I was pretty intimidated and nervous going in, but the instructors are very thorough about how to safely hold a gun, aim etc. etc. The CCW class was very informative and helpful, comes with a workbook. We had Nick for our second training class and he is very conscientious about safety and watchful for how you are doing and what you need to correct. He is very calm yet very thorough in his training. We felt very comfortable with his expertise. I think all their employees are very well trained and dedicated. They only use lead free ammunition as well. The facility is very clean and kept up nicely and there is an airlock into the range. Highly recommend their services.

Had to drop the magazine after each shot and physically eject the spent shell. The real gunsmith at Double Action was able to determine that the guy they called a gunsmith at Sportsman"s Warehouse had installed screws that were too long and caused the ejector to hang up. For example, there are poor reviews on yelp for this place because customers didn't realize they'd need to purchase ammo in order to shoot. Ammo isn't free, it never will be free, and if you rent range time anywhere you're bringing your own ammo or paying for it at the range. Thats a bad reason to leave a poor review. Renting range time also doesn't include free lessons to use a firearm. I think that's also another misconception people have when going to a range and renting a firearm - which leads to false poor reviews IMO. If you are looking for a long indoor range to fire your rifle, this place is great. I wish it was 100yards, but 50 yards is still the longest we've got in metro detroit. Ive been here twice and would definitely go back. It's cheap. The targets are free. The range is no frills. No fancy technology. It certainly gets the job done - especially in the area. But don't walk in expecting free ammo or free lessons.
