They will close kinda randomly due to weather and we aren't taking about during a snow storm. The only way I make sense of it is because it's too cold? Because it's 10 degree out and people don't want to come to work or the water will freeze? 2. The VIP service is meant to be unlimited washes but I was annoyed to find out that they limited it to 1 per day. I was planning to get a wash right away because the first was not good enough but nope, that isn't allowed. 3. Lastly, there is a lack of customer service most of the time. They try to sell you for the VIP service but isn't around to help much. Here is why 2 stars: 1. Cancellation was easy. 2. It was convenient location for me. 3. FYI, the undercarriage wash starts right away, so be sure to drive in slower to get a better clean. Rest of my wash went well. After the wash, I took a look at the car and it seems the top of the back window area was still a little dirty from suds. I did also attach a photo from the roof of the car, which looks absolutely pristine and ultra reflective. I went in with a pretty dirty car that had dust all over, old water stains on the roof, and some streaks of mud/dirt on the doors. Save for that spot on the top of the back window, everything else looks very clean and I'm pretty satisfied, especially knowing the bottom of my car got a decent cleaning from the salt during the winter months. The self wash is the better value, but I found that some of the self-service bays leave faint scratches on my car so I usually stick with the no touch. I was a little surprised, but also delighted, that they had already started a file on me from just one prior visit. They knew what I had done and previously so it was easy to recreate the ticket. I am only able to treat myself to getting this wonderfully clean outside and inside car when in Boston. There is nothing like this in my little village. So when I go to see my Doc, I also make time for my car to get a good cleaning. Allston has never disappointed. I used to be able to drive 10 minutes away in my old hometown for this service, so now I really appreciate it. I like to keep my things looking nice and Allston helps me do that. The first time I went, I was a little embarrassed; my cars interior was full of leaves and dirt from the winter/spring. This place has a full crew working on the car. The basic full service includes vacuuming and dusting inside, then wash outside, for $37.50! And they are doing a consistently good job, in less than 20 min! They always had issues with the self-service bays. Often the soap wasn't working, or the rinse was mixed with dirty soapy water that wouldn't let you rinse it properly. So I am not surprised that they went out of business. However Prestige took it on another level. They raised prices for everything, including self-service bays and... made it worse. The equipment is old and outdated, it barely functions and they ask for way more money now. Also, they shut down touchless bay, so no more of this service for you (if you were looking for it). I am willing to drive 10 more miles just to have a good car wash. Unfortunately, as almost always with Prestige - once they touch something, they ruing it in attempt to satisfy their money greed.

The manager was kind and gave me an estimate of just over $500- for the parts including a painted part. They required a deposit for the parts- $200, which is fair. The parts came quickly and i was able to get everything taken care of in just a few days. They offered after hours pick up, which was nice for my busy work schedule. Mac's is conveniently located not too far from Davis square too, so it's easy to get to/from wherever you need to go. They didn't try and up-sell me either, which was nice. I would absolutely come again if ever I needed to, and absolutely recommend Mac's auto body to anyone.

I spent $280 on their "The Big Show", EXPECTING my whole car including the interior to be spotless…read more I even pointed out one specific stain several times for them to clean. I get my car back 2 hours later for the stain to still be there. And just for the overall detail work to be mediocre. Ridiculous.
