The busy-ness was a testament to its popularity, yet it was comfy and relaxed because there was a variety of seating areas where one could enjoy their beverage and/or food. This is one of the few shops that have a delicious cardomom syrup. I actually ended up ordering a second beverage because the first one was so delicious!

The coffee itself was actually amazing. I loved the uniqueness of it all and wish I could have tried everything before returning to VA!

Food/drinks: Ordered most the GF items they had in stock! * Peach almond cake - delicious. And fresh out of the oven. * Lavender almond cookies - also delicious. Substantial. Melty but not too melty. Needed more than two. * Peanut butter cookie - okay. Got it because I do like PB and another review praised it, but I didn't need it. It's really chewy/a little pull-y. *Lemony mint tea - it was okay. Barely noticeable lemon. Like the touch of the leaf of fresh mint. Probably wouldn't repeat. Service: Friendly and focused. Not super quick so wouldn't go if I'm in a hurry. Not a deterrent. Ambiance: Let's talk about cute! A pretty brilliant renovation of an old gas station into a bright, airy, farmhouse eclectic cafe. I took my food to go but would love to sit here for a bit. Which obviously means I'll be back.

I saw people coming out of here! I didn't hesitate, I skipped right on across the street to see what I could see. The cutest Korean bakery! The same bakery you know and love from H Mart now has a stand alone location in the heart of downtown Frederick. I took a spin around, snapped some photos and then grab a tray to load up with goodies. I love that its self-serve. You can always get the one you want without the awkward and mostly ineffective pointing and direction giving from behind the glass lol. I picked up a nice mix or sweet and savories. I think my favorite was the spicy jalapeño ham & bacon roll. It was soft, spicy, salty, and just the right amount of sweet from the dough. You can order finer pastries, coffee, and boba tea from the counter and eat in or take it to go. I'll be coming here every time I'm in town for sure!

How did I make it to nearly 50 years old before discovering Biscoff Cookie Butter? Honestly, I feel…read morelike I wasted decades of my life living in complete ignorance. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.
