Terrible terrible terrible. I think my terrible experience started when I finally realized that the hotel is located very far from the city center. We were instructed to take the tram to the hotel and walk across an overpass through the ghetto-ist parts of Dublin. We check in and order some beer, caprese salad and Guinness Stew. I must point out that the staff is pretty depressing, no energy, no smiles...just sad. I get it...we are in the middle of no where and we are stuck with eachother for the night...sheesh. The Guiness stew and caprese were both very tasty. We spent much of the evening relaxing in the lobby and speaking with some locals.
The room was simple but, clean. I slept well but, couldnt wait to return to the city centre to do more exploring. At check out (I checked out one day earlier than expected but, was told I could at no cost to me), the Front Desk Agent, Blanca, was not very friendly. She told me that the room cost was nonrefundable and there was nothing she could do. Period. I was able to reach out to Management and after several email exchanges, they informed me that my rate was refundable for the early check out. I'm a travel agent and I never had to work that hard to get my money back when I was correct the entire time.
Save yourself the trouble and spend a bit more money and stay in the Dublin City Centre. read more
