The Ibis hotel was the place I stayed the first time I visited Cardiff. I'd come to Cardiff to see a gig in the CIA so the Ibis was perfect as it is literally across the road: no need to worry about getting to the gig on time, or about how to get back to the hotel after.
It's also right on the edge of the city centre and close to the train station, so we didn't have to get a bus or taxi the whole time we were there. Being close to town also means that you don't have far to go to get breakfast in the morning if you choose not to eat at the hotel. The food offered at the Ibis is good though, and is served until late - we were able to get some good post-gig snacks.
The Ibis isn't anything special, but it is definitely the nicer of the low-budget chain hotels, and this hotel is ideal for anyone visiting Cardiff for a concert in the CIA. read more
