Two of us stayed here at the Clayton Hotel over the rugby weekend, it was a seven hour journey so we had a late check in, it was quick and the reception staff where polite.
We where on the fourth floor and at the lift l could see a list of all the meetings that where on for the next day, room was pretty nice, warm but felt characterless like premier inn.
The room
I moved the massive large curtain to find a wall, the window was tiny but the length of the curtain was the same as the room, the view was a courtyard that had a table & chairs and the barbecue that was full of cigarette ends.
Facilities.
The room had an ironing board & plenty of hanging space for clothing.
Tea and coffee facilities where there but there was several brands of coffee and teabags, l didn't like the selection offered so l bought my own.
Breakfast
We where met by victor each morning the host at breakfast, the selection was pretty good, fresh pastries, fresh fruit, self vending coffee machine.
My friend made me a coffee, the cup had a crack from top to bottom, some of the plates where chipped at breakfast, apart from that the food was great.
There was no background music playing in the morning for breakfast, would have been nice to even see the news or some back ground to break the silence.
This hotel is in a good central location, l didn't hear any noise from outside but there was a lack of personal touch such as a good morning or a hello apart from the reception staff.
I would come back. read more
