I have stayed at several Ibis/Mercure/Accor properties in my travels, and this was pretty standard among them.
It was clean, modern, and the staff was great! We checked in at the front desk and the staff member had so many answers for all the questions we had. She gave us maps and brochures for activities and sites (but no pressure on what to book or do) and recommended several area restaurants.
We stayed on the 5th floor, and there is a neat little glass center column that overlooks a courtyard type garden area below.
The room was not the most spacious but it did have a large comfortable bed, a smaller sized bathroom, and a shelf/closet space. There was no refrigerator (which we didn't need) so be aware of that if you need to refrigerate groceries. I'm not sure if some rooms do have that though, so you may want to ask.
There were several outlets which were good for charging our phones and cameras and laptops. The bathroom had a nice bath gel and hand soap that I really liked. They also had a great food menu that was available 24/7!
It is very near the Sagrada Familia. Great for hopping on the many hop-on/hop-off buses, which all stop at this site. There are many supermarkets in the area too and tapas restaurants and bodegas for snacks.
A very lovely area and a good, not too expensive hotel to use as a home base for your visit to Barcelona! read more
