Avoid this hotel, the worst service I experienced in all of wonderful Spain! Based on my miserable experience here, I will never book any Iberostar-flagged hotel ever again. We reserved 2 rooms through Expedia, (confirmation # and #). Unfortunately, the hotel-specific policies were different than what Expedia advertised so "free cancellation" did not mean anything to them. Not only were the policies different, they were ridiculously strict, charging a penalty of the full amount for any change whatsoever, whether 1 day or 1 week, far worse than the industry standard in Barcelona. Because our flight was cancelled, we needed to move the reservation one day later. Several calls and hours were spent on the phone for the hotel to tell us that only Expedia can make changes, while Expedia was telling us that the hotel needed to approve everything, and it was impossible to connect the two. We were not able to speak with any manager. The hotel even started to hang up on us! We eventually found an employee when we called on another day who said he would process a refund, but he did not give any nightly charges back so I'm not sure what refund this actually was. Once we arrived a day late for our reservation, it got worst. The hotel had decided to cancel our reservation, charge us for the full stay, and give away our prepaid rooms as they told us. The only way to stay was to rebook a whole new stay. Forget it! They did not provide the service we paid for, and made it extremely difficult and unwelcome for an industry called hospitality. We stayed instead at the Sir Victor with a fine roof patio, more lively roof bar, and most importantly outstanding service. We were able to change reservations with no hassle, the front desk booked us anything we wanted to do, and it was a huge difference in experience. read more
