Great value in Barcelona. Room was a nice size- and they held our luggage until we could check in. Shower is great- no pesky tub to step over. It's a two person shower- in size. Water pressure was great. Safe was one of the larger we found in Spain- which was nice. Fridge was very cold- and large. We easily chilled a bottle of cava on the bottom shelf. There is a market (Mercadona) almost across the street (not across Diagonal, but across the street on the "back" of the hotel. There are coffee shops all around (literally turn left our right out the door and you'll hit one.) Great restaurants within a block or so- we liked 4 Latas and several other restaurants in the area.
There is an elevator. Closet space is generous. They offer a great deal on a wifi hot spot during the day which you can have with you! Wifi at the hotel was very good. Desk and chair and two end tables are your furniture in the standard room. Decor was very nice- subdued grays and browns. Weird wall hanging over the bed kept tickling my head- but hey, that's a small thing. There were LOTS of lights- which was great. Many of our hotel rooms had seemed a little dark. Lots of easy to access outlets too- which we love! You will hear the showers in other rooms. We didn't have a problem with that- but it's fairly loud. Once there were some very drunk guys having an argument in the street below our room- woke me up. But that could happen anywhere.
We had a glass of cava in the bar (1st floor)- had a great view from our window table. Cute space for eating or drinking. We had so many restaurant reservations we did not eat here- but it's a very cute space and the cava was good.
We walked all the way downtown from our hotel- it's very flat here, so even I, with a bit of a disability, could walk all the way to the Museum of Catalan Art (near Las Arenas). It took me a while, though. Taxis are super easy to catch near the hotel- and we took a lot of those when we were in a hurry.
There is a church next door with a lovely carillon of bells (but no worries- they stop at 9pm and start at 9am!) At 9pm they play Brahm's lullaby- how adorable is that? We saw lots of families in the hotel, so it's definitely family friendly.
The staff were incredibly helpful. They were very kind. read more
