Saw them on Tik Tok and I had to try! Love their bolillo and the bread OMG perfect!!! They had a couple of burnt pieces and I took them all! Note their bread is not burnt I just love it that way. I got the polvores and Orejita and I'm gonna say they are the best since I've been back from Mexico City! Prices are low too compared to other bakeries. After seeing a TikTok the night before, I go up early and made my way to Ibarra bakery. The TikTok talked about how delicious the pan con frijoles is. Parking is tricky but I was able to double park and run in. Several people were ordering but it went quick. I bought 13 bolillos con frijole and dropped a few at each of my siblings houses. Tried the bean, cheese an jalapeño birote one day when a parent at the school I worked at donated some. I've never had a birote with the bean and cheese baked into it. Located in South LA Ibarra is a small bakery that opens it's doors at 6:00AM with freshly made Pan Dulce, and not just any pan dulce but some of the best I've ever had. You see just like Hostess, Dolly Madison, Little Debbie, Wonder Bread, Sara Lee or a good Artisan bread they are not all the same. I used to think La Fama was the best in town until now, we had a variety of pan dulce but they went so fast, sorry no photos!.... we also grabbed a few birote's and they have them Plain, Queso, Jamon, or Frijole. The birote had a nice light crunch to the outside and soft inside made perfectly just like in Mexico!. This place is small and hidden and may look like a normal Panaderia but it's not. On weekends we have Been around the areas and they pull bolios out of the oven filled with cheese, beans and jalapeños. It's 2$ or so and it's so full it's heavy you could probably knock someone out with it. People line up to buy 5-9 or more at a time. Their various types of pan dulce are amazing. Soft, fluffy, semi sweet, freshly baked and super cheap. 2 for 80 cents! I need to come back and try their stuffed birotes. The owner speaks just enough English and is super friendly. Definitely a find. There is another bakery up the street that has the best quesadilla bread (sweet cheese bread) I have ever had. I've been coming here for a long time. The bolillo with queso, frijol, and jalapeño never lets me down. I kinda feel bad for the workers tho. Everyday people ask "which ones are the ones with beans?" And they point them out even tho it's clearly written on the thing. The workers are usually chill about it. But customers are stupid and can't read. Imagine getting asked that same question 50 times a day 7 days a week for several years. They can put a big neon sign pointing at the bolillo de frijol and people will still ask "cuál es de frijol?" Best baked tortas I have tasted. They are real mexican tortas. The line can be pretty big from time to time. The food is always warm and the price is less than 3 dls for any piece of bread. read more
