I left my other dentist as Mint is so close to my house; unfortunately, every time I am there I feel as though they keep trying to sell a new plan. You can't just go for a routine 6 month cleaning, without other items being added to the appointment (Xrays, various types of evaluations). Today, I went for a 6 month cleaning and they added an oral evaluation to my visit that was not covered by insurance for $106. The disturbing part is that they could tell me all the other things insurance would cover, but snuck in this exam without telling me (prior to billing) I would be charged out of pocket at the end of the visit. I was told at the beginning of the visit the visit would be covered by insurance. They were going to run more xrays today, even though I just had them (again) in May. Thank god they ended up not running Xrays, I would have been deep out of pocket. I look forward to being able to return to just getting my 6 month cleanings without extra items being billed, at another dentist.

I scheduled an appointment online and not even five minutes later I received a call from the receptionist asking me to come in right now. I explained that I was at work and that wouldn't be possible and asked what was the latest time that I could come and she told me to come at 12. I received a confirmation text that my appointment was at 11:30 so I called and was told that a message will be sent to the practice by central scheduling to verify that it was ok for me to come at 12. I arrived to my appointment around 11:50 and was told that I could not be seen because I was late and my appointment was at 11:30 and they were about to close. The message was never sent to the practice which I understood, but instead of taking accountability, the staff gaslit me and asked me if I was sure that I was told to come at 12. After going back and forth the practice manager offered to schedule another appointment and throw in a free whitening, and I agreed because I needed to have this work done and I was understanding that miscommunications happen. Before leaving I apologized to the staff multipIe times for my frustration and made it clear that I understood miscommunications happen. The next day I arrived for my appointment and I was treated by the entire practice as if I was a problem patient and I could tell that they were not looking forward to servicing me. The practice manager was extremely unprofessional. Both her and the receptionist went back and forth over servicing me and she continued to refer to the receptionist as "Samantha" so that I would not know she was the person I spoke to the day before. When I finally saw the dentist, the actual service was not good. She barely greeted me when she entered the room and acted as if she did not want to service me as well. She did not properly numb me despite multiple attempts and I was extremely uncomfortable for the duration of the service. On top of that the practice manager let me know before the procedure that I would be receiving a discount. After that the receptionist came in and quoted me for the full amount further displaying a lack of communication and professionalism. I was extremely disappointed with the service I received and the way I was treated as patient who was inconvenienced."

No plaque was removed ,all because they couldn't get me to pay for a deep cleaning. The dentist basically flossed and brushed my teeth. I feel scammed and tripped off. I have been a patient at The Dental Group for over 3 years and unfortunately I can no longer…read morerecommend them after my most recent experience. They do not do well at supporting patients with sensory issues or dental anxiety, or conditions like TMJ that make dental visits difficult. With new patients they are kinder, but with every visit I have made they have become less supportive and less accommodating. My last cleaning was extremely unpleasant and I was shamed into not taking breaks over the course of multiple procedures and fittings even though holding my jaw open causes my TMJ to flare. Then there's the high-pressure upselling. For several years, the dentists and hygienists at this practice have been trying to get me to buy a dental-grade night guard out of pocket, even though I had an over-the-counter one I had been happy with. I finally agreed because they told me it would help my gums and that I would face severe consequences if I did not "make the investment." I had to pay $750 (!!!) out of pocket. When the night guard arrived, it was so bulky and uncomfortable that I could not get a good night's sleep in it and I woke in the morning with severe jaw pain on both sides of my jaw. I went back to have it adjusted and suddenly I was being told that having a night guard means sleeping with your mouth open and accepting dry mouth, that jaw pain often gets worse at first, and that I would have to accept some bad sleep in order to become accustomed to the night guard. I cannot stress enough that this was NOT disclosed to me prior to when I made the purchase. Since the practice knew about my sensory and dental anxiety issues, I feel strongly that they should have talked to me about what the night guard would be like before pushing me to buy it. When I explained the above, the practice offered me only a partial refund, which would mean that I spent hundreds of dollars on nothing. I feel my trust was taken advantage of and I would encourage others to look for a different practice.

I have been coming here for years and all of the staff with whom I've come in contact, have been pleasant and helpful EXCEPT for BARBARA SHORTER BULLOCK...no relation. Not only is her tone demeaning, she had the gall to talk about my personal informational at the front desk, where other patients could hear. She's also thought it wise to argue with me. Barbara is a dark stain on this establishment and should be dealt with accordingly. Barbara is the ONLY reason for my rating being shy of five stars.

Apparently dentists don't like to accept medical insurance - only dental insurance. And when I pulled into Dr. Ruderman's office parking lot, I inwardly groaned. It's just not an attractive building, there's a dumpster in front of the building, and the concrete in the parking lot of cracked. The interior also looks like it hasn't been decorated in decades. BUT...! Dr. Ruderman was such a good doctor/dentist that I now understand the amazing reviews despite the dreary décor. It sounds silly writing this, but he actually read my medical chart, and asked me questions about it. We actually had rapport. Noticing my discomfort with the procedure, he joked around about my employer in the news and the terrible taste of the anesthesia. And when my medical results came in, Dr. Ruderman personally called me to inform me of the results (they were good) and explain what they meant. What a novel concept - I'm used to having to dial in myself and then listen to a prerecorded message. My only pang of sadness is that I live so far from Dr. Ruderman. If I lived closer, I would come to Dr. Ruderman for all my dental needs!

Dr. McNair has the softest touch with great precession. I've been to so many dentists that manhandled my mouth. Shouldn't that be a qualification for a dental licence? I'm assuming it must not be required because my last few dentists handled my mouth like they were trained using ice picks. Not Dr. McNair. He was a breath of fresh air. The setting is a cozy home converted into a dental office. Before I arrived I was a little skeptical because I was walking into what appeared to be a residential home. Much to my pleasant surprise I found a fully equipped dental pracfice with a creative and effective layout. The staff were welcoming, informative, and professional. I literally felt at home.

They attempted to charge me 600$ for two teeth extractions that should have been 150$. I have Delta Dental PPO. I was instructed to ask for Price Authorization because of the price gauging at this practice. Needless to say, I went elsewhere and paid 150$ for two teeth to be pulled. I will continue with my scaling and cleaning. Other than that, I am done with them.
