I bought a '91 Celica GT over two months ago and brought it in due to an overheated and poorly maintained engine which resulted in a valve job, new head gasket, seals, belts, spark plugs, thermostat, and radiator hose along with an oil change. I find their pricing to be fair and competitive. You definitely get your money's worth at this shop. My car now runs a lot better than when I first got it. The difference was almost night and day. Now that my repairs have been complete, I have been driving my car around happily, and I actually came back for an inspection, I'm ready to leave my review. The first thing: Speaking on the phone is not their strong point. Please describe the problem and ask them when you can bring the car in. Their office worker is great in person! The mechanic is very intelligent and experienced. I came in needing a head gasket, and they took the valve cover off and showed me the condition. I liked the plan to get the car fixed and went forward with it. The dealer wanted twice as much do to much less work. My inspection was on point, and I have been driving the car around with no issues. Check engine light cleared, with codes noted. Work is guaranteed. Honest, honest, honset... What more can I say. Family run and full of integrity. I've taken my car twice to the dealership first when there was some malfunctions, just to get an estimate. Then I took it to IPM. First of all, one time it was misdiagnosed by the dealer and was an easy and inexpensive fix at IPM. Dealers are nothing but swindlers. The second time, the malfunction was diagnosed correctly by the dealer but estimate was 3x what I paid at IPM. AND at half the time it was to be done at the dealer. read more

Great auto shop. It is family owned and in a lot full of other car-related shops but this one is the best there! I usually don't trust mechanics since they always try to take advantage of people who don't know anything about cars. They do great work and are honest, good rates too. An example of how they are- My friend went there to try and fix his car since it kept driving more towards one side, but before he had gone to his dealership and they quoted him $1000+ in repairs for parts that were perfectly fine (steering rack, etc etc). Turns out it was just one of the front tires had much lower tread which was causing this and they pointed it out right away, very honest and how a GREAT auto shop should be. Being a family owned shop, they rely on the quality of their work to make loyal customers, and it definitely shows. On my most recent trip to IPM, I was impressed enough to (finally) create an account on Yelp to write a review here. Here's my story: My car's engine stopped mid-ride, so I had it towed down to IPM as I was suggested by my father, a customer there for 20 years. On arriving, Mr. Toyama, the owner, attended immediately to the car. After a few tests on the engine, he quickly deduced the problem and explained to me (a layman) what was going on. He recommended us a used replacement part he had on hand, which would save money (as buying a new part for a 20-year old car is simply a waste). Later in the day, I was running late, and came back almost an hour later than closing time. He was waiting at the shop to ensure that I got my car back that day, as was discussed on phone. Their dedication to customer service is excellent by any standards, and I would recommend anyone to this shop. Thank you for your excellent service, IPM! I'll be sure to return to fix the leaking steering fluid hose (which, by the way, was diagnosed and estimated, but not forced on me to accept repairs as it wasn't a critical fix at the time) P.S. The steering fluid wasn't full when I brought the car in... and I didn't see any note of it on the invoice. read more

They are quick and they do it right the first time, and explain it so I can understand it. I highly recommend this shop. No matter what kind of amateur questions I ask, they answer with respect. If I don't need to fix it right away he tells me so. They never "rip-off" and tell you what you need, why you need that, and how long it's gonna last.
