I absolutely love this place. It is a great way to work out, especially for someone like me who does better in a group setting than just going to the gym and trying to figure out what to do. I have actually gained weight since starting, [all muscle mass] which was my goal. Regained my flexibility [full splits, yay!], and have more strength and energy than I thought was possible. I'm so excited for this summer to show off my muscles I thought were gone forever after having my daughter. The staff is always very friendly, the events are fun and if I literally crave going to class. The gym is always clean and well kept. I love this place, I just wish I had found it sooner. I joined ilovekickboxing about 2 months ago after the recommendation from several friends and coworkers. I am so glad I did! I come from a dance background and have never been one for a gym membership, as I love having the structure of classes. Each class is always different, targeting different muscles and areas of your body. I leave each class sore in places I didn't know I could be sore in, but in a good way! I find it hard to stay motivated to stick with workout routines sometimes, but that is not the case with ilkb! I look forward to each and every class! I started iLovekickingboxing April 1st, I know Aprils Fools Day, but it wasn't a joke. For Christmas I decided I would give myself a "gift" and I purchased the 3 day classes for the free gloves because I wanted the free gloves, I mean who doesn't love free gloves. But I thought the gloves would come to me in the mail, nope. They called me and wanted me to set up a class. April Fools day, there I was. Honestly, the energy in there was uplifting, everyone participated in those burpees in the 15 minute warm-up, we pushed through we kicking and punching the bags, then partner drills and the crazy enthusiastic instructors. That day I decided to join the Liverpool iLoveKickboxing and I haven't looked back since. I go as much as I can, 2-3 times a week. I just started this week and let me tell you I have never been happier about my choice to sign up for the membership. On my first day I had an instructor work with me one on one (after an amazing warmup) to show me all the punches and kicks we would be doing in class. I have never felt more comfortable with someone when learning something new. While she was teaching me, there was another instructor teaching the class. I felt this made things so much more comfortable. Other exercise classes I've taken don't do that and I often found myself uncomfortable because I had no idea what I was doing. Joining ilovekickboxing has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Being on your own going to the gym just never did it for me. I never knew what to do or how much of it to do. Kickboxing is structured, it's a routine that you get use to & I am so proud of the accomplishments I have made so far. I've never been much of an athlete and have always struggled to find a workout that I actually stick with. It's been 8 months since I joined ilovekickboxing and am so happy that I did! I've been able to stick to a consistent workout schedule for the first time.. ever! If I slack and haven't been in in a bit - they reach out to me and get me back in the door. I have never done kickboxing before and this is amazing!! I've been to gyms in the past as well as used to be an avid jogger, this beats both of those!! Classes are something different everyday! They are intense and the staff in amazing!! They encourage you every step of the way!! ilovekickboxing Liverpool has made an incredible difference in my life! I've always been active, but I've never found that "thing" that got me to wake up in the morning excited to participate in. This is it! The staff are SO kind, patient, enthusiastic and fun. The other members and staff are the best support system ever and give me the motivation to do my best every class. Throughout the workout we encourage each other and accept each other for showing up and giving it our all. The instructors are fun and take the time to explain technique to get the best, most efficient, and safest workout I have ever experienced. I went to this place and was blown away by the lack of knowledge going on here. None of the instructors have any martial arts experience whatsoever. I was even more shocked to find out that none of them have any type of formal fitness education or certifications. I'm not sure if this is even legal for them to be "training" people. But from what I gathered they were more over people to cheer you on and shout into their mic. I wouldn't recommend these places to anyone as you can actually find a legit gym gym in the Syracuse area with real trainers with martial arts experience. read more
