My visit was with Kara…read more To set the scene: we live in a very light colored apartment with two dogs and yes, we clean, but we don't deep clean nearly enough and there is dog hair galore. Kara arrived ready to go - super friendly, bubbly, and COVID safe. We went over what my very basic expectations were as a first time house cleaning user and then we took the dogs and left - mostly because I think I would be awkward, not her. I got home and man, I don't even want to cook dinner because it's so clean and refreshing and beautiful. The communication, from start to finish, was quick, honest, and very direct - I wasn't left with any questions. Kara is spectacular and I would 100% recommend her and Em-Maculate Cleaning for your needs. I look forward to making this a regular part of my "treat yourself" routine!

We have had Em-Maculate cleaning our house for a while and there have been issues from day one. We…read moreasked for two people for a deep clean. A man and woman arrived and spent 4hrs cleaning. Everything the man. Leaned was amazing, the woman did not do a very good job, they ended up sending the man back to redo what she had done. We were very happy with him, he went above and beyond. We liked him so much that we didn't make an issue of him damaging our laminate flooring using soaking wet mop. Apparently he left the company and they didn't notify us. They sent out some guy we didn't know while my wife was home alone. She wouldn't let him in. When my wife called Emily, she sent her to VM. She sent a text back. She said that she had tried to contact us but didn't hear back. The only contact we got was an email that she wanted to change days. She asked for a reply if the change was okay with us. It was not so we did not reply. Also, during the time we had service from Em-Maculate Cleaning Service the price changed from hourly to fixed and the price increased without notification. When my wife tried to work things out with Emily directly she said we were too difficult as customers and she was dropping us. Who knew that asking for clear communication was "demanding".

The cleaning crew did a very good job on the basic cleaning stuff but the areas where they seemed to have missed or skipped over was in the more detailed areas (missed cobwebs, some floors not cleaned, some walls not wiped). Everything else they did a really good job. All the cleaners and the owner are all very nice people and they are more than happy to isten to and respond to your requests. I would like to give the team and the owner the benefit of the doubt and suggest that they might be so busy and possibly overbooked that they are experiencing some growing pains in terms of scheduling and managing jobs and hours. I believe a distinction should be made between scheduled house cleanings and move out cleaning. I feel that this cleaning service would be very good for people that require daily, weekly, or monthly cleaning of their homes but not so good for move out cleaning service as move outs require a lot more attention to details and can be time consuming.

I had paid for a deep clean but even from a general cleaning perspective it was a mess- especially the floor. Mind you I live in a fairly small 600 something square foot apartment. It was unfortunate, I wanted to be able to have peace of mind and have one thing off my plate but I still had to sweep and mop again and it was also emotional labor to have to keep calling and providing evidence. They did try to make it right by wanting to send cleaners later that day but the timing didn't work out with work and guests coming the next day. They ended up reimbursing $50 but it did feel like the amount of work I had to do was worth more than that. Oh they were also half an hour late ;(
