The parking lot and pump area looks like it doesn't get regularly swept up and debris removed. The inside floors need a good sweep & mop as well. I visited in the morning hours, normally an overnight clean would still be looking good at this hour. Bathrooms were ok and the outside patio tables were clean but the ground is covered with cigarette butts. Maintenance might be an issue here. First pump I tried to use was out of commission. At the fountain drink station the cubed ice maker was not working and the soft drinks weren't being carbonated at all. The employee at the counter was friendly.

They had to make adjustments with cones to keep it from being complete chaos. If you watch the prices, you can also see that the prices can change a couple times during the day. Never been a real fan of that, and sometimes that means they aren't the best price, but it's generally balanced by the convenience instead of chasing a few cents off here or there.

This gas station truly stands out for its cleanliness and overall upkeep. From the moment you pull in, everything is well organized, well lit, and spotless. The pumps are clean, the parking area is tidy, and the inside feels more like a small convenience store than a typical gas stop. I love that they have a little nacho station (even with jalapenos!) as well as boiled peanuts, slushies, a complete fountain unit, as well as Cindy's Cinnamon Rolls! I love that they carry those because the Galleria closes so early now, it's nice to have a place that you can find them.

The Circle K across the side street from this Shell had no restrooms available so I am thankful for this store. I bought some cookies and cereal for my trip because I had forgot. The cereal comes in little plastic bowls for a single serving so all you have to do is add the milk. Very handy in my opinion. Their gas prices were low for a top brand and comparable to the rest. You can't say that about some of top well known brands so it is nice to be able to fuel up and make a personal pit stop all at the same location.

She walked back around inside when she saw us pull up, and the bathroom was locked. So I went inside and literally begged the lady to unlock the bathroom so that we could use it, because the bathroom has apparently closed at 9 (weird when she was using it when we literally pulled up). We have been driving for four hours and still had another two to go. Tried the shell across the street and their bathroom was out of service. So this was one of the last places we could go to (and are now literally in pain trying to find another bathroom). I told her all this and she very rudely said okay and walked around to go unlock the bathroom. She puts the key in, jiggles it, and then walks away. I pull the door and it is still locked. We just left then because there was no getting anywhere with that situation. So, please patron somewhere else because that was just a rude, terrible experience, considering we even topped off our tank there to be nice and not just use the bathroom. I can understand not having the bathroom open because of sanitation reasons, but to pretend to unlock the door was just beyond unbelievable, especially considering that I had not been rude, or demanding, really just pleading. So go to the racetrac instead, it's just a little ways over and probably much cleaner than Murphy bathroom anyways.

I can save a few bucks per tank here because of that, not to mention that gas prices here run a little lower anyway than most places nearby. Cigarettes are under 5 bucks usually, which is also a plus. Tons of pumps so its never crowded or crazy to get in and out of, and a broad variety of items you'd not expect to find at a gas station. Need a deer skin rug? A wooden rocking chair? A locally made take and bake casserole? Local candies and or fudge? A wide enough variety of cheese and wine to put together a nice charcuterie board at home on the fly? And wait....wait....wait a minute....think about this for a second....they have over 50 beer taps and will sell you a pint, a quart, a half gallon or a gallon of whatever you need and the prices are very competitive. Oh yeah...I forgot to mention that there's a permanently attached BBQ truck that sits next to it in the parking lot...so yeah. Just soak all that in and remember that we're talking about a gas station. Super clean bathrooms, nice people behind the counter, great prices all around, and beer, wine and cheese 24 hours a day, (except when its too late to buy the alcohol). Reviewing a gas station may seem a bit odd, but I think this one deserves it. Whoever dreamed this place up is way ahead of the times when it comes to what you expect from a gas station. Hopefully they'll set a trend and more and more places will follow suit. If you're over the mountain, and snobby about your beer, the place is a godsend. When I moved here from downtown, I was genuinely distraught at the notion that I might have to drive across town to really get the good brews. Cowboy's made my worries about that go away. For that I thank them. 5 stars.
