Could NOT BE MORE UNSAFE if they tried: They make you leave your room key at the front desk each time you leave the hotel. Very odd to me at first, the first few times I saw the same person at the front desk so he gave my key back immediately, but I still thought it was odd. After a few nights, I came back to a completely different person at the front desk, told him my room number and he gave me the key. No checking ID or anything. I was shaking with fear and about to scream but decided to test even further- I asked if my boyfriend could still get his key if he returned later (I was traveling alone) and he said "of course no problem." It was late and my last night in this hotel but I couldn't sleep, simply terrified knowing they would give my room key to literally anyone who asked for it.
Unsanitary: My first day there were two bottles of shampoo, one with the seal broken. I don't know how unsafe that is, if it's the same as breaking the seal on a water bottle, but I decided not to chance it and threw it in the trash can. The next day, after they'd cleaned my room, the bottle had been removed from my trash can and placed back in the shower. I am positive it was the same bottle because I took a photo. I didn't feel clean in that room again for the rest of my stay.
SO NOISY: There was construction going on in every direction outside of the hotel, I didn't bother asking for a room change because I knew it wouldn't matter, still so loud I was woken up after sleeping with ear plugs in. AND the cleaning staff is so noisy and inconsiderate, the vacuuming in the hallway was so noisy and they slammed the vacuum cleaner into my room's door. Oh and the vacuum cleaner was stored against the wall right outside my door. No closet or anything, just something for me to step around as I came in and out.
Fire alarm: My first night, which is no big deal, it happens. But when I got downstairs the lobby was crowded with people, all of the doors were locked and no one could get out!! That is so terrifying to me and I should have left the next day. I'm glad there was no real fire because we all would have burned alive. read more
