It doesn't get much finer than this chateau, with a kitchen that turns out classic French cooking and an elegant dining experience. Just a couple miles outside of Bayeux, a great pool, sauna, exercise room and jacuzzi will relax you after a day of touring the D Day venues. This chateau is maybe a 20 min drive to the American cemetery at Omaha Beach which is profoundly moving, don't miss it.
We were taken care of in style, these are hospitality experts, and they made us feel welcome. This is not a flip-flops/cutoffs hotel. This is class.
The main chateau was a German general quarters during WWII, but it dates back more than two hundred years. The rooms are large and comfortable, our room was in the mews, with a large private patio, and very close to the heated pool.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and we were very pleased with our three night stay at Chateau Sully. read more
