Its location is good for touring all the normandy sites and museums. You have to have a car as there's nothing you can walk to. Its very charming and the grounds are beautiful. They have adequate parking, a tennis court and a playground. I definitely would not bring children here as the rooms are small and there are lots of uneven stone stairs. They speak limited english at reception and none in the bar and restaurant. We arrived a few hours before checkin and thought we could have lunch at the restaurant as other people were there. But no they said they were not serving lunch but we could purchase a charcuterie plate. That charcuterie was the best thing about our stay! Fresh bread, meat and cheese with dried fruits and butter. I asked about dinner reservations for that night and they said no, they were full. The restaurant basically caters to the locals and they don't accommodate their hotel guests at all. I felt like I was in Paris with how curt they were with us. We ended up only eating on the property for breakfast which was very good. The room was very small and theres no air conditioning or fan so I would not stay here in the summer. Its a very old stone building with thick walls so we were ok. There was one small window you could open but no screen. The bed was comfortable. Theres a safe but no frig. The bathroom was also very small but the tub was huge. Very clean rooms. I ordered room service one night and it was laughable. I ordered fried chicken with potatoes and vegetables (thats exactly how it was worded on the menu) what I got was a small bowl of soup. So don't bother with room service unless you order a charcuterie board. We bought a bottle of wine to drink and I had to ask at the bar for an opener, the bartender told me I had to drink it in my room! Ok just another instance on how off putting the staff is here. So in review, 1.not a great place for children or elderly people who may have mobility issues, 2. don't expect to get any food here unless you're French. And don't order room service 3. Look at the square footage of the room before you book it. 4. Bring your own shampoo,conditioner etc. 5.ask for extra towels as they skimp on them in the room. 6. Dont stay here in the summer heat. This and Cave de Mirande are two world class farmhouse cider producers, 4.3 level and up with ciders that rival the best wines, Belgian geuze, and American sour ales. Incredible. Pro Tip: you can STAY HERE! It is a bed and breakfast or you can park your camper or just camp in a tent here. House and cider cellar room is beautiful, family run. Staff was hospitable but exceptionally friendly and made exceptions for us to come in after hours. We rang the doorbell and got the royal treatment even though they had been closed for half and hour. They also sell, per usual, Calvados, Pommeau, and other artisanal goodies. Their Pommeau was absolutely incredible. Overall an amazing experience. A MUST on your cider trip through Brittany and Normandy.

Everyone had a place to stay, hang out, or get some space. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - making us feel at home. Their morning breakfast was top notch. The chapel, restaurants, cafe's, and sights are all within walking distance. This is a place that reminds you the history that permeates France with buildings that are hundreds of years old (but don't look shabby) and a friendly atmosphere. If you are planning on exploring Normandie you can base out of here and be within 1-2 hours of everything.

Much of Bayeux was walkable from here, and driving to the American and British beaches was very manageable. You can see the entrance to the museum with the Bayeux Tapestry from their front door. Restaurants we planned to taxi to were walkable. The facility is a several century old mansion, totally renovated by the architect owner who has done everything first class. Our room was huge, everything was new, and everything worked. The staff was outstanding in their efforts to accommodate a couple Americans. Breakfast equaled the facility - in a formal dining room setting and with an extensive selection. I would recommend Hotel Tardif Noble Guesthouse to anyone, whether they're five star hotel people or campers.

The Manoir has several rooms in the main house as well as several more in the "boat house". Its location is perfect to visit all of the northern coast sites and is easy to find. The staff is very efficient and quality oriented. Everything in and around the Manoir is clean and well kept. On several occasions I have asked for restaurant recommendations and every time we have been very impressed with the food. I can say that Jacques and Alix are always prepared to provide recommendations for a day trip, all of the details and even make reservations for you if recquired. Just minutes to the town of Bayeux (and the famous Tapestry) or all of the Normandy WW2 sites/Museums/Cemeteries. Easy Drive to Mont St. Michael and the beautiful coast of norther France. Just ask Jacques and he will gladly be your tour designer, answering questions, providing historical context, providing maps, making great suggestions, etc. If you are a Band of Brothers fan, you are very close to all the key areas of the 101st airborne activities from D-Day (episodes 2 and 3). Carentan and Brecourt Manor are just a short drive away. There is also a number of monuments and museums that honor those great men. If you are a fan of Saving Private Ryan then you have all of the cities and sights all within easy reach. The opening and closing scene were shot in the American cemetery in Coleville. An absolute must see. I cannot say enough about how much we love staying at this B&B. I do not think you can find a better combination of location, quality and people anywhere in France. What a great excuse for skipping town and heading to the countryside, we thought! And thus ensued a furious bought of B&B research to find the perfect home away from home. I searched and searched and was coming up empty, and then bam, this place with is minimal design, gorgeous location and right price, caught my attention. I called and a very kind man said there was only one room left, and that we could have it, and no we wouldn't have to leave a cc, there was no cancellation fee, and yes, we could have an extra kids bed installed in the room for no extra cost. Perfection! This private manor is is perched on a hill behind Trouville with a sweeping view of the ocean. It's owned by a very sweet guy who has renovated it in super tasteful tones and minimal furniture so that you can appreciate the volumes without any clutter. We had a fantastic time here, even when a hurricane stormed through! Actually it was one of the most dramatic storms I've lived through. You could see the clouds coming in from the ocean and the winds traveling up the hill, creating turmoil in the trees as the storm rushed passed us. It was pretty remarkable. The weather changed the next day and we enjoyed a glorious blue-sky with clear views of the ocean while having our delicious breakfast in the main dining room before heading to the beach. Can't wait for the next excuse to make this our home away from home again. NB: They only take cash and you'll need a car to get up the hill as the road is a bit steep and dangerous to walk up.
