Fantastic location. Friendly staff. I always benchmark every hotel room from the Wynn Hotel Las Vegas so don't take what I am about to say. Our room was clean and comfortable and quiet. Nuts & Bolts but a great place to sleep and relax. Walking distance (2 blocks) to all the great restaurants and shops. Bayeux is the PERFECT launch point for everything Normandy. If you're looking to see Omaha Beach and Point Du Hac stay in Bayeux. We booked a private tour through the Caen Memorial. We took the 7:00am train to Caen and met our guide. It was the perfect way to see everything. read more

Very comfortable hotel with very friendly and accommodating service. Beds are comfortable and breakfast good. Be aware that the hotel has no elevator and if your room is on the second floor, you will have to carry your luggage up a winding staircase. This hotel has a lot going for it: quaint building, location near center, and easy free city parking nearby. The room was plenty spacious and comfortable. The only downside was that the halls were loud: people in the hall late at night and early morning who weren't even being particularly inconsiderate sounded like they were walking around loudly in our room. read more

This is a very nice homey hotel in the small town of Bayeux. This hotel is tucked within a small street, but it is in the center of many places that you can visit in the Normandy area. It's walking distance to the Bayeux Cathedral and from the Musée de la Tapisserie de Bayeux. There are also some local shops & restaurants that are walking distance from the hotel too. This hotel also provides tours that you can reserve for visiting the D-Day locations, or for Le Mont Saint-Michel. Omaha Beach is very close by to this hotel, but Le Mont Saint-Michel is about a 90-minute drive. Breakfast is served here in the morning by 7:30am. If you choose to dine here in the morning, the cost for breakfast will be added to your hotel bill. The price is very acceptable and it's all cooked fresh too. It's a convenient place to dine at, without dressing up and going out to look for a place to get breakfast. As for the room, it's just okay, but it meets all the necessities. Every room are quite different from one another, so the photos that I posted of my room, may look very different than the one you get. They do have Wi-Fi, but it's very slow; but their service & hospitality from their staff is excellent! I would stay at this hotel again the next time I visit Bayeux & Normandy. read more

This is a nice little hotel that is in a very charming part of Bayeux. The staff was very friendly, and let us keep our luggage until it was time for our check-in. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. I did not order the breakfast, but it looked amazing! Everything is prepared right there, and the aromas of fresh-baked breakfast goodies filled the air. This hotel was walking distance from the train station, and close to the cathedral and the Tapisserie Museum. We loved walking on the cobblestone streets in Bayeux. We went on a tour of Normandie (Omaha and Utah Beaches), and it was very nice to come back to this sweet hotel! Thank you for a great stay! read more

Great praise for the way this local hotel has handled the national emergency in France! I was scheduled to spend two nights at the hotel but unfortunately had to cancel once France began it's mandated closings then lockdowns. Even though my booking was on a nonrefundable rate this hotel agreed to a full refund. I am sorely disappointed that I was never able to actually stay at the hotel but I do intend to make it back to Normandy in the future. I assure you that this hotel will be my top choice when I'm able to return. I hope other Americans will likewise feel good about doing business with a hotel in Normandy that does things the right way. read more

In January this year, my father in law, brother and I were trying to find our way from Paris to the Normandy beaches. We got as far as Bayeux by train but it was the off season and everything was shut down so we were having a hard time finding a way to get to the beach. Nothing was open anywhere. We wandered into the Hotel le Bayeux and even though we weren't staying there, the really friendly staff took the time to help us find a rental car and gave us perfect directions (all in English!) for getting to the memorial, cemetery and beach. We were flying out of Paris the following day, if it wasn't for their help, we would have missed all of Normandy. Instead, it was the best day of our trip to France. The location is great, the hotel looked really nice and if the rooms are half as good as the staff, its worth a stay. Hope we can go back some day and spend a few days here. read more

This was a charming and clean place that was perfect for our family of five's two-night stay. We had a room at the top of the stairs that easily accommodated us. The room was mostly divided by a wall. On one side, there was a king-sized bed. The other side had three twin beds (two of them bunked). The location is ideal if you are going to visit the D-Day landing beaches and related sites. Also, it is an easy walk into town for restaurants and to see the Bayeux Tapestry. I recommend that you take advantage of their breakfast, including hardboiled eggs, crepes, croissants, yogurt and more, with an espresso drink machine. They have free WiFi; however, the provider that they use has some weird setup where every time you wake your device from sleep you have to log in again. This isn't so bad for a laptop, but for an iphone or ipad it is very annoying. Other than that nit, the WiFi worked well. A word for planning. On the map, this looks walkable from the train station. It isn't. There is a lot of road/lot/sidewalk construction going on that makes it very difficult to walk, especially if you are minding three kids with their own bags. Take a cab; you'll be happier. Service was very friendly. Our kids were given four comic books to borrow (in English). Three covered the Normandy D-Day landings. The fourth covered the story of the Bayeux Tapestry. The Tapestry one was so interesting that my wife and I read them cover to cover. I would happily stay there again and recommend it to my friends. read more

Hotel Le Bayeux is a quaint hotel in a great location run by INCREDIBLE staff! I stayed with a large group (I was with the National World War II Museum, staying in Bayeux as we spent the week touring Normandy) and the hotel was very accommodating of our massive tour group. The rooms are not fancy by any means, but they are CLEAN and the beds are comfortable! This is not a hotel to stay in if you plan on hanging out in your room, as the rooms are small, but it was an absolutely perfect place to take a hot shower and get good rest at the end of a long tour day. You definitely can hear people talking from your room, but that did not bother me or keep me awake. Breakfast at the hotel was beautiful. A selection of cereal, an assortment of French pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and all the coffee a jet lagged traveler could want! The breakfast nook is small but very cozy. The staff was amazing and patiently answered our questions and gave restaurant and shopping recommendations. They were kind and generous and it was obvious they love their job. I felt safe there and I am positive the staff is trustworthy. Another small element of the Hotel is the refrigerator in the lobby that contains an assortment of drinks. There is a small piggy bank inside, and you purchase drinks on the honor system. I loved that I could just buy a water bottle or sparkling water in the hotel lobby any time of day or night. Finally, the hotel is in a great location, only about a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral or Tapestry, which is great! Overall, I enjoyed staying at Hotel Le Bayeux, and I highly recommend it to those who are traveling in Normandy. read more
