I stayed here from December 21st-25th, 2011. The hotel's a little out of the way--about half a mile's walk from the train station and a quarter mile from the city of Bayeux proper--on the highway. The "sidewalk" leading to the hotel alternates between legitimate sidewalk and a makeshift patch of gravel (that often turns to mud during inclement weather), and dodging the cars of France's highways can be a little frantic. Once you make it to the hotel, however, all is good, as the place is completely secluded in the middle of a field. I didn't hear a peep from anyone I didn't want to during the four nights I was here. The window even has that strange shutter for nighttime darkness, so unique to the French. I would definitely stay here again, but wouldn't recommend this place for the elderly or lazy--you have to be willing to walk to the train station and city, which isn't much to ask of a New Yorker, but for others, it may be a bit much. read more
