The decor is a clever but inexpensive way to decorate an old hotel. At present I am listening to a headbanger dance party across the street, which is supposed to end at 11:30 pm. My room is vibrating from the extremely loud bass. Also, it evidently is "off-season" for air conditioning, even though the sun beats through the window and makes the room uncomfortably hot, so the only option is to open the window...which makes the head banging music even louder. The wifi is pitiful, we have complained 2 nights in a row about intermittent service and most of the time not even being able to connect. After calling 3 times to complain, they brought in a technician who says "this room is in a bad location for wifi, so sorry. We stopped in at the bar after meetings today, about 5:30 pm, asked to see the appetizer menu and was told the restaurant does not open until 8:00 pm. I turned in the shower only to have the knob come off in my hand. My companion was going to relax by the pool to read and enjoy the rooftop area and sunshine, and was told the pool is under renovation and the rooftop closed, but was told to go to the private beach. Once arriving, the board flooring at the beach was being sanded and varnished, but there were 6 chairs available. When she sat down, she was briskly told "No!" And was told she could not stay there and was told, not asked, to leave. Once she revealed her room key to prove that she was a guest, and that the front desk told her to go to the beach since the pool deck was closed, they left her alone, but was not offered any service as the other guests were. There was a gentleman sitting next to her who later confided that he was not a guest at our hotel, but that they never said a word to her. This hotel is absolutely not geared to any type of business traveler, or anyone who is looking for good service. The best thing is that the bed is comfortable, but beware, this is the only good thing about this hotel. read more
