A part of me is ashamed to say it, but in my heart of hearts, I know it to be true: the best ice cream in the world is Haagen-Dazs coffee ice cream; second place goes to Haagen-Dazs strawberry; third to Haagen-Dazs vanilla bean (emphasis on the bean). If I'm being honest, quality matcha soft serve or Asian vanilla soft serve fight for the #2 and #3 spots; let's just call these the top 5.
I once was an ice cream connoisseur until I realized that I am lactose intolerant. I spent over a year avoiding dairy. Slowly, over the last several months, I've rejected the confines of Lactaid and surrendered to ice cream's siren call. Rejoice, I've returned to the delicious land of ice cream and cheese and other dairy filled things!
Back to my review of this Haagen-Dazs location. Beautifully decorated, you can choose from an assortment of offerings: your standard ice cream cones/cups, sundaes, and the much loved chocolate covered ice cream bars.
Located on Rambla de Catalunya where high end fashion stores and unique buildings designed by Gaudi are just around the corner, this Haagen-Dazs location is a nice place to get some ice cream and give your legs a reprieve from exploring this highly walkable, vibrant city. Con is the price, but I still say it's worth it if you like Haagen-Dazs.
